Booking the Barn was the easiest and best decision that we made, it allowed for the rest of wedding planning to fall perfectly into place. Steve and Jen have built an amazing network of vendors and have a rockstar coordinator, Jamie. We've never planned a wedding, but even if we were to do it again we would gladly place everything in their hands. The Barn works with Sugarsnap Catering and they are incredible!! From planning, to food, to service--many folks told us it had been the best food they had been served at a wedding. The whole team is incredible there and is only outmatched by the beauty of the mountains and wildflowers that are located around the Barn. Booking The Barn at Smugglers' Notch for our October wedding was the best decision we made! The minute we toured the venue we knew it was the perfect spot to celebrate with our family and friends. The venue itself is breathtaking! The bridal suite was the perfect place to get ready with my bridesmaids in the morning. The outdoor ceremony space is gorgeous, especially in the fall. The reception room and bar/dance floor were the perfect size for our guests.
Jamie is absolutely incredible to work with. Her communication and organization made our day (and all the planning leading up it to) so easy. She worked with us to make sure our day was exactly what we envisioned. Jenn and Steve were equally as amazing to work both during planning and on the big day. They made us feel so welcome and always made sure our guests were having a great time. We feel so lucky to have worked with this team.

From the moment we stepped foot on the property for our initial tour, we knew this venue was something special. We were welcomed with nothing but great vibes (and the cutest dogs too)! Jenn and Steve were incredibly responsive, organized, warm, and helpful throughout the entire wedding planning process. You can genuinely tell how much they truly value each individual wedding and how dedicated they are to making sure every couple’s day runs smoothly.
Jamie is absolutely incredible as well. She’s so friendly, detail-oriented, and truly an essential part of our wedding planning journey. We couldn’t have done it without her! She thought of everything and was always so quick to respond to any questions we had.
The day of the wedding went flawlessly. I didn’t have to worry for a single second about logistics because I knew Jenn, Steve, and Jamie had everything completely under control.
The venue itself is absolutely stunning—there’s truly no beating it. We could not recommend having your wedding at the barn enough. It was an unforgettable day made possible by the most amazing team. We are beyond grateful!The Barn at Smugglers' Notch's reply:

From the very start, working with The Barn was the easiest, loveliest, most organized experience. What we loved most about working with Steve, Jen, and Jamie was how much they truly felt like family! We were completely taken care of and we felt that for the full year and a half of planning.
The coordinator, Jamie, is without a doubt pure gold. She led us along the process with a professional, calm, and friendly energy. All of our details came together EXACTLY as we had planned and she made sure of it the day of. Jamie's communication was 100/100 and we were astounded by the support we received.
We 100% recommend hosting your wedding at The Barn. The food and drinks are delicious, the vibes were so cozy and fun, and the team is out of this world.

Our wedding (6/21/2025) at The Barn at Smugglers’ Notch was absolutely perfect! The setting is breathtaking — surrounded by spring wildflowers and Mount Mansfield in the background — and the barn itself is just as beautiful inside.
Jamie was our main point of contact, and she couldn’t have been better to work with. She was responsive, organized, and so supportive throughout the entire planning process. Jamie, Steve, and Jenn made sure our day was completely stress-free. They handled everything — coordinating vendors, leading our rehearsal, setting up, decorating, and even taking care of cleanup. All we had to do was enjoy every moment!
Our guests were blown away by how stunning everything was, and it was especially meaningful to get married somewhere that’s been a part of our lives for so long. The team even helped us coordinate with Smugglers’ Notch staff for our rehearsal dinner. We are beyond thrilled that we chose the Barn at Smugglers' Notch for our wedding venue. From day 1, Steve, Jenn, and Jamie have been friendly, responsive, professional, and welcoming. The venue is gorgeous, both inside and out, and Mount Mansfield provides a breathtaking back drop. Once booking the venue, Jamie provides a helpful timeline, recommended vendors and more. We really felt that they took the stress out of wedding planning. We just tied the knot there on August 2, 2025, and the entire day was nothing short of perfect. Jamie, Jen, and Steve were incredible—supporting us every step of the way and making the planning process smooth, fun, and stress-free. Jamie is the go-to person; she ensured everything ran flawlessly. She guided us through every detail, and we genuinely couldn’t have had such a wonderful day without her and the amazing team behind her.We’re originally from the Northeast but currently live in California, so planning from out of state was daunting at first. But Jamie was beyond accommodating—hopping on 8 PM EST calls so we could chat after work on the West Coast. That level of flexibility and care made all the difference.The venue itself is absolutely stunning. The Sugar Snap team? FANTASTIC. Our guests raved about the food—every bite was delicious.Getting ready at the venue in the morning was such a special experience. The flow of the day was seamless, and staying onsite made everything so much easier. One of my favorite memories was peeking out from the upstairs windows with my bridesmaids, watching our guests arrive and get seated. It was such a precious moment.I also did a first look in the bridal suite with my dad, brother, and grandparents—it was everything I hoped it would be. The bridal suite is a 10/10. My seven bridesmaids and I had plenty of space and the best time getting ready together.If you’re considering this venue—DO IT. We had the absolute best experience with our wedding venue! From start to finish, the team was kind, responsive, and incredibly detail-oriented. Throughout the planning process, they were always there to answer questions and offer support, which made everything so much smoother and less stressful. The venue itself is stunningly gorgeous.
On the day of the wedding, I didn’t have to think about a single detail—which allowed me to be fully present and actually enjoy the day. Everything was taken care of seamlessly behind the scenes. It was clear that the entire staff are true professionals who genuinely care about making your day as special and easy as possible.
The food, provided by Sugarsnap, was also phenomenal—we received so many compliments from our guests. Everything was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious.

We got married on July 12th, 2025 at The Barn at Smugglers Notch. We had an absolutely incredible experience working with them throughout the wedding planning process. Jamie, the barn's coordinator, was so responsive, flexible, and accommodating. We felt as though Jamie and the other staff members went out of their way to meet our needs. On the day of, everything ran so smoothly, and all night, Jamie made sure that we were eating and drinking. Plus the venue is GORGEOUS. As soon as we started talking with Steve, Jenn, and Jamie we knew we had found the right venue. They made the planning process as effortless and easy as possible. They are swift with responding, fun people to communicate with, and were happy to join into our joy. The team at The Barn felt more akin to planning a wedding with friends than a formal business transaction, and their guidance and suggestions were always incredibly helpful. They answered questions before we knew which questions to ask, and Jamie was an absolute superstar the day of our wedding, making the day flawless and wonderful. All of our guests commented on how gorgeous the venue was, on top of how well run the entire day was. Beautiful Venue!
My husband and I had our wedding at The Barn last September and it was truly magical! The space, both inside and outside, is so beautiful. Jenn and Jamie were very resourceful and knowledgeable throughout the entire wedding planning process. They made sure every detail was planned and also coordinated with all of our vendors, which was extremely helpful. On the day of the wedding, they were on top of the timeline and ensured the day/night ran smoothly. They made sure I didn’t have to stress over any details on the wedding day, which as a bride is much appreciated. All of our guests commented on how much they loved the venue and enjoyed the wedding. The Barn at Smugglers Notch knows how to execute a perfect wedding. Working with Jamie was a dream, she helped me all year with anything I needed… from what size table runners I needed to how I can fit my mother’s requested cookie table! I felt at ease through my whole planning process thanks to her and her team. They also have the BEST vendor recommendations and will also source others for you if needed. The venue is clean and beautiful, you barely need to add decorations because of just how stunning the barn and their property is on its own. The wedding day was also so seamless I didn’t have to do, think, or even worry about 1 thing. I don’t even recall Jamie asking me for anything that day, her and their crew just put everything together perfectly and better than I could have ever imagined. I didn’t feel one ounce of stress that day. The owners Jenn and Steve are exceptional as well, so friendly and easy to work with making sure your wedding day is everything and more. We. Love. The. Barn! I seriously can't recommend the Barn enough- it's hard to put into words how much I loved my wedding day thanks to this venue.
The wedding went absolutley PERFECT and we didn't have to lift a finger! Jamie, Jenn & Steve were phenomenal to work with and really have their system fine tuned. Everything was so smooth and easy. Myself and our guests could just relax and enjoy the day.
They made the planning process just as seamless which was amazing especially since my (new!) husband and I were out of state and living apart due to work. Jamie was our planner and day-of coordinator and she was the BEST. She always replied to emails within 24 hours, but more often within minutes. She was very easy to work with and talk to. Jamie was SO solid and exceeded my expectations. I was able to put all of my trust in her and just relax & enjoy the day. I can't emphasize enough how easy everything was thanks to Jamie.
The Barn itself is absolutely stunning- even more beautiful in person than photos show. From the arbor with the most stunning backdrop in VT, to the cocktail patio and champagne wall, to the dining room with the grand staircase- everything about the Barn is stunning. It captures the essence of Vermont in a really elegant and beautiful way on the inside and outside. We did end up with nice weather, but I would have happily walked down the aisle indoors as it is that wonderful inside too. Our guests fell in love with VT, and I was very proud to host at the Barn as it embodied my dream VT wedding I always imagined while growing up down the road.

My husband & I got married at the barn on 10.05.24. We have been working with Jenn, Steve & Jamie since May of 2022 & since that day they have made it such a seamless experience. We fell in love with the barn immediately after we saw it not just because it’s such a gorgeous venue with a beautiful view but we felt so welcomed in by the staff. When wedding weekend was approaching, Jamie was regularly checking in with us & making sure she got all of the details down. Then on wedding day was able to make the wedding of our dreams a reality. Steve, Jen, and Jamie made our wedding day perfect! We live out of state and their crew made it incredibly simple to plan our day. The venue is beautiful and you couldn’t ask for a more scenic fall backdrop. The barns design is cozy and so welcoming. My bridal group was able to have all hair and makeup done on-site which made for an incredibly relaxing morning. Best Team You Could Ask For
We had the most amazing time at The Barn and working with Jenn, Steve, and Jamie. First of all the venue is absolutely gorgeous - the views can't be beat. The food is amazing, they are easy to work with, and they really do everything they can to make your dream wedding a reality. One aspect that stood out was our request for a bourbon-themed bar - Jenn's enthusiastic response and the setup exceeded our expectations. The attention to detail was impeccable, with a tent complete with couches, tables, and a special bourbon bar. It was such a fun addition to the day and Jenn made it happen like it was nothing. Jamie is also amazing to work with as Wedding Coordinator - she is quick to respond and extremely organized. Our wedding day was really the most fun, relaxing experience and we owe a huge part of that to the team at The Barn.

We feel incredibly lucky to have had the Barn as our wedding venue! Throughout the planning process, we were constantly amazed at how responsive, organized, and wonderful their team was to work with. We currently live on the west coast, and from the first phone call, any of our fears about planning a wedding from across the country were immediately eliminated. Jenn, Jamie and Steve were so accommodating & helpful throughout the whole planning process, and their communication was fantastic. We really appreciated how laid-back and genuine they are, while also being very organized and on top of things. We don’t know what we would’ve done without such an awesome team supporting us from the day we booked all the way through the wedding day itself!
The Barn is truly the most beautiful, charming venue in VT. From the Green Mountains in the background, to the early summer wildflowers, we couldn’t have asked for a better setting for our wedding. The inside of the barn is also stunning. There were some on/off rain showers on our wedding day, and the team made us quickly feel at ease about the potential for rain. While we ended up having our ceremony outside, it brought us peace knowing that we could have an equally wonderful ceremony inside, if needed. We haven’t stopped receiving compliments from our guests about how beautiful the venue is, and also how wonderful the team is. The catering company, Sugarsnap, was also fantastic to work with. Our guests raved about the food!
The Barn team is attentive and truly caring. It gave us comfort knowing that they were there to help make our day so special. As someone who can get pretty easily stressed with planning, all of my worries washed away very quickly once we started working with them. My now husband & I felt that we could 100% relax on our wedding day because we were in such good hands!! Jamie was very attentive and supportive throughout the night, and even remembered to do some things that we had forgotten about (putting disposable cameras out on the tables, etc.). They supported us behind the scenes, even when we didn’t notice. We were able to enjoy our wedding fully and had so much fun. When my wife and I took a tour of this stunning venue (a year and a half ago), we were not only blown away by the location, but we immediately felt welcomed with open arms. We knew right away that this was going to be where we'd have our wedding day.
The professionalism put on display by this venue is second to none. They set us up for the utmost success and that carried on throughout all the days leading up to our wedding day -- for instance, putting us in contact with some of the best vendors to work with.
Our wedding day was nothing short of perfection and Jenn, Steve, and Jamie played a major role in that. They would constantly be working behind the scenes to make sure our day ran smoothly and if anything came up/if they needed us somewhere, they’d take care of it in a polite and professional manner. We never felt rushed or stressed on the biggest day of our life and we couldn’t thank this team of phenomenal people enough for providing such a breath of fresh air on our day of celebration.
They made sure our day was special — it was their number one priority, and we felt that. Not only will The Barn at Smugglers’ Notch hold a special place in our hearts, but we consider Jenn, Steve, and Jamie a part of our family because of how they made these past few years so enjoyable.

The Most Perfect Day
Getting married at the Barn at Smugglers Notch was one of the best decisions we made during the wedding planning process. The whole team (Jennifer, Jamie, and Steve) were all extremely responsive and helpful the entire year + leading up to our wedding day. They carried out every little detail for our wedding day perfectly and I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect day. Also, we got rave reviews about how gorgeous the venue was inside and out. We had a rainy wedding day and the ceremony was moved inside about 30 minutes prior to the ceremony start time and you would have never known! Incredible Venue!
We had no idea how lucky we were getting referred to The Barn for our wedding venue. From selecting our date through to the day of our wedding, Steve, Jen and Jamie were a wonderful team to work with! Hiring a wedding coordinator is NOT needed at this venue. Jen and Jamie were the perfect coordinator duo. Whatever we wanted or needed they were willing to execute, and whatever we were feeling clueless about they helped to fill in the gaps. The Barn at Smuggs Notch has an exclusive agreement with a caterer, Sugar Snap, that is farm to table. Our guests complimented our grazing table, gluten-free dinner and dessert bar, which was really rewarding to hear. We received so many compliments on the venue, the view and the overall feel of our wedding - people had a great time! This past weekend we had my daughter's wedding at The Barn and I cannot say enough wonderful things about Jamie, Jenn, and Steve! From beginning to end they were outstanding to work with. They listened to everything we envisioned and provided us with the support to make it all happen. From our bourbon bar (which was amazing) to our seating and decor...every detail right down to the timeline and coordinating of all the moving parts were handled, it was so smooth and seamless and stress free. It was so beautiful and truly spectacular. We are so grateful! Two side notes - they have some preferred vendors to recommend - OMG our caterer, DJ, and floral ladies were amazing! Now we know first hand all the reasons why they are "preferred!" Second - the dance floor was perfect and boy did we all dance the night away! :) -

The Barn at Smugglers’ Notch completely blew our expectations out of the water! Wedding planning seemed overwhelming to us and we were considering getting a wedding planner, but with Jen, Jamie, and Steve behind us helping us to organize, our perfect wedding was completely manageable. They always responded instantly, whenever we had a question no matter what the question was. For instance, they even measured the dance floor for us to ensure our choreographed swing dance would work with the space! We knew absolutely nothing about wedding planning, but the barn set us in the right direction with plenty of excellent vendors who were familiar with the Barn’s operations and ways of working. We browsed the list of vendors and chose the ones we liked the style of the most.
The setting for our early June wedding was jaw-droppingly gorgeous. The venue is nestled right in the valley of a stunning series of mountains which create the most wonderful backdrop. Our guests from all over the country and the world were amazed by the beauty of the Green Mountains. In addition, there is a field of wildflowers just beyond the arbor that grows and evolves throughout the wedding season. The purple lupins for our June wedding added a great pop of color.
The wedding day itself was seamless. Jen keeps you on the schedule you all work together to set, and made sure that your only focus is to get ready for the ceremony and reception. Our guests were also very impressed with the quality of the Sugarsnap catering; while they are the exclusive catering company that collaborates with the Barn, they do an excellent job and you cannot go wrong with any of their options for appetizers, meals, and desserts. The variety of food ranges from comfort, classics, to inspired creations, all of which taste great! They even held a group tasting at the Barn just before the wedding season where we met so many other couples getting married at there as well! The bar itself at the Barn was highly customizable and suited our needs perfectly.
We heard from countless guests that this was one of the most fun and beautiful weddings they have ever been to, and we firmly believe a big part of that was both the majestic setting as mentioned and also the fun vibe and sophisticated decor of the indoor venue. The space becomes whatever you dream it can be. It served many purposes well, including allowing for our guests to view the central first dance, have an elegant dinner, hear all of the toasts, and ultimately, participate in an extremely fun dance party atmosphere. We got married at the Barn in October 2021. It couldn't have been a more perfect venue. Jenn and Steve are so accommodating, incredibly responsive, and make you feel like you are the only people in the world getting married at the Barn - the relationship was the perfect amount of personal and professional. The Barn is absolutely stunning. The views of Mount Mansfield are breathtaking. While the weather was not on our side on the wedding day, Jenn pivoted so quickly to transform the inside of the venue into the perfect ceremony space and back into the reception space without anyone knowing what happened, she is truly a magician! The outdoor ceremony space is undeniably gorgeous, but if you need a rain option, you couldn't ask for a better alternative, walking down the grand staircase with my dad was a fairytale! Additionally, the nearby lodging and relationship the Barn has with Smuggler's Notch resort is the BEST possible scenario! We were able to make the wedding a full-weekend event/party with 5-minute shuttles back to lodging. For family traveling in from out of town, there is no shortage of adventures, from hiking, to shopping in downtown Stowe, to hopping around from restaurant to brewery. Our daughter and son in law's wedding was this past weekend at the Barn at Smuggler's Notch! (August 2022)The ceremony was outdoors-- the setting was the perfect back drop of lovely mountains. I cannot say enough good things about Jenn and Steve the owners. They responded so quickly to all of our questions and were on top of every detail from start to finish. Jamie, another coordinator of the day was so calm and very attentive throughout. Jenn and Jamie set up our elaborate tables so beautifully prior to the event and made sure every detail was done! The Barn's caterer, Sugar Snap Catering has excellent food and excellent service. We were very impressed. The food was so fresh--very farm to table. We chose "family style" for service (rather than plated) and it worked out great! Our guests loved it. We researched all the venues in the Stowe area and no one could compare to the level of service or the beautiful back drop of Vermont mountains that the Barn at Smuggler's Notch provides! Jenn even saved the day with my daughter's bustle. The wedding day had zero issues and went along so smoothly because Jamie kept us on the timeline! The wines Steve selects for the Barn were great and the bartenders did a superb job! Our guests loved all of it! We had a magical day! So glad we chose this venue. Light, bright venue built for weddings. Has a large patio overlooking a wildflower meadow
with gorgeous view of Mt Mansfield. Honestly, the best part was working with Jenn and Steve and Jamie. They felt like family. It was so easy. Sugarsnap provided food and it was outstanding, the best wedding food ever!

Jenn and Steve are the perfect people to team up with to make your wedding dreams come true. They are extremely responsive, well connected locally and within the industry, I really cannot say enough good things. Catering with Sugarsnap was incredible and Steve made our custom cocktail dreams come true. He went above and beyond - literally helped us import a mezcal through the state of VT that up until that point was only available in Texas. Jenn has a calm demeanor but oh boy does she get sh!t done! We would recommend this experience over and over. Every detail was perfect, and although we know how much work went into our wedding weekend, they made it feel effortless and fun. My husband I got married at the Barn at Smugglers' Notch a little over a month ago in June 2022. I'm from Montreal and my husband is from New York so we were looking for a venue that was somewhere between our families. We very luckily came across the Barn at Smugglers' Notch. As soon as we spoke to Jenn from the Barn at Smuggs, we knew that we had to book it as our wedding venue. As you can see from the photos, the Barn is absolutely stunning on its own (keep in mind that we were visiting over FaceTime and believe me when I say that it is even more breathtaking in person) but you can also choose to make it your own with draping and other decorations. In addition to the venue and surrounding views being gorgeous, Jenn and Steve are amazing to work with. They are both extremely responsive and helpful whenever we would reach out by email, text or by phone. They made the wedding planning process SO much easier by supporting us along the way and also giving us a list of their trusted vendors for everything from florists to photographers to DJ to decorations, etc. My husband and I were very grateful for this as well since neither one of us were from Vermont or very familiar with the area. We loved every single one of the vendors we chose from Jenn and Steve's list. The Barn also works exclusively with Sugarsnap Catering for the food and we were so happy they do - the food is SO good! Jenn and Steve were an absolute dream to work with and we could not have asked for a more perfect day. We received so many phone calls and messages after our wedding from friends and family raving about the Barn, the area, the food and the wedding in general. If you are still searching for the quintessential Vermont wedding venue, look no further. As a maximizer bride (who searched through hundreds of venues in the state) and an interior designer by trade, I can attest that you have stumbled upon THE most beautiful venue Vermont has to offer. Jen and Steve have created a space that is both chic and elegant, while retaining the signature VT charm. Every detail has been thought out, from amenity baskets for guests in the lovely restrooms, to an en suite shower for the bride to use on the day. From the beginning of our discussion with the wonderful owners, we knew we had finally found our venue.
My husband and I had our makeup wedding (after two Covid postponements over the past three years) this past weekend and it was nothing short of magical. Jen and Steve were kind enough to work with us, graciously accommodating our schedule changes, as well as being incredibly flexible as the scope of our day shifted from a large 180-person shindig to an intimate 30-person DIY experience. They allowed ultimate personalization: granting me the opportunity to come on the property the day before to setup our table spread per my vision and providing a delicious signature cocktail along with our open bar. With every interaction, the owners make you feel special and excited for your day, as if they are close family friends celebrating with you.
Our guests noted the quality of the bar selections, as well as the delicious catered food provided by Sugarsnap. We all agreed that the meals represented the best food anyone had ever experienced at a wedding. Kristen was a delight to work with as we coordinated our culinary selections for the big day.

Jenn and Steve were amazing throughout the whole process of planning our wedding. Jenn has an eye for design and is the perfect coordinator for your day. She helped so much with placing decor and creating a fun lounge area with a couch and rugs we brought. They both made sure we had everything we needed and wanted throughout the evening, and especially made sure we ate the delicious food from Lost Nation Catering.
Jenn made sure everyone knew where to be and when, and when we lined up for the processional she handled telling everyone when to start walking in coordination with the dj and officiant. It could not have gone any better!

Our perfect wedding day!
Steve and Jenn hosted the wedding of our dreams!! Everything was absolutely perfect and beautiful. We originally were supposed to get married September 2020 but decided to postpone due to the pandemic. Steve and Jenn made the process of postponing 100% stress free for us and were extremely flexible with allowing us to push to a later date. The Barn has a lovely bridal suite where we were all able to get hair and makeup done with plenty of space (7 bridesmaids, 2 moms and 1 bride). All throughout the morning, Jenn was working closely with our vendors to ensure setup went seamlessly and I didn’t have to worry about coordinating anything; I could just relax and enjoy the day.
We cannot say enough good things about Chef Sam and the catering crew at the Barn. We had quite an extensive menu and it was hand tailored to our wants and needs. Every single guest let us know how delicious and amazing the food was!
The views of Mount Mansfield and the wildflowers out back in the field are breathtaking and our photographer got some beautiful shots.

The Barn at Smuggler's Notch is such a stunning venue and so well-thought out. A modern canvas that lends itself well to any color scheme and any wedding theme. Sweeping mountain views. Stunning bridal suite. Plenty of space. That is why we originally selected it as our wedding venue. What we didn't know at the time is that we were hiring some of the best wedding professionals in the business - the dynamic duo of Steve & Jenn. I am not exaggerating when I say I'd get married pretty much anywhere as long as they were running the show.
Let me start with how incredibly responsive they were. As a wedding vendor also, this is something I greatly appreciate. I would ask a question and get a response usually within 10 minutes.
Jenn & Steve made everything pretty effortless for us. Steve helped us with bar selections, table lay out and set up specialty cocktails. Jenn coordinated with all of our vendors for arrival times, set up and take down. We were able to drop off all of our decor on a Wednesday and Jenn had it all set up when we came Friday for our rehearsal. What a special treat for our bridal party and close family to be able to preview the venue with the majority of the decor set up.
A review of our wedding day: we had downpours in the morning and in to the afternoon. The team at the Barn set up for an indoor ceremony just in case. Our ceremony was at 4:30pm and downpours came again at 4:15. As I (the bride) was coming down the stairs the clouds parted and I gave the nod to have the ceremony outside - probably right at 4:30pm. Jenn had the team dry off chairs outside not once, but twice after 4pm and we were able to have our ceremony outside, just as we had envisioned. I doubt you will find this level of flexibility anywhere else where you can literally make the call at the very last minute - it meant everything to us to be able to get married with the mountains in the background. The rest of the night was absolutely flawless. Steve made sure to bring us cocktails during dinner, Jenn brought us an array of apps so we could enjoy our cocktail hour while photos were being taken. I had no idea what time it was all throughout the night, but Jenn made sure things were executed on time. She clearly is a professional and seems so chill but is also so organized and direct when she needs to be.
The Barn is no doubt the best place to get married in Vermont. I wish I could do it all over again - every moment was absolutely magical. Jennifer and Steve are terrific. We had the most perfect wedding day, and can't imagine how we would have done it without them. Jennifer is an absolute boss and makes sure your day is everything you ever wished it would be and more. Both of them were so so helpful, respectful, organized and timely with all of my wedding planning questions and needs. OH, and the venue is just breathtaking. The barn is beautiful, from the bridal suite, to the tables and chandeliers, the bar and the bathrooms, literally everything is amazing, and that's not even the best part, the backdrop to the outdoor ceremony is jaw dropping. Beautiful Venue Wonderful people to work with!
Steve and Jen are amazing! As many brides and grooms can tell you, planning a wedding during COVID is not ideal. Steve and Jen were helping us the entire time. From updates on the Vermont governor's guidlines, to suggestions on day of timelines, they really put our anxiety at ease during this whole experience. They responded to emails almost instantly every time.
Before COVID started, Steve and Jen gave us a list of trusted vendors that they work with frequently for weddings. These vendors were nothing but professional and all provided a high quality service. Their suggestions helped us narrow down who we would work with and made our planning process much easier.
During our wedding weekend, Steve and Jen were extremely flexible and gracious. Since the wedding the day before ours cancelled, they allowed us to go to the barn early to set up decorations. Jen was a great day of planner who led us during the rehearsal and made sure the day went smoothly and according to timeline. When setting up lawn games, Jen even brought out the barn's corn hole to add to our collection. Our family could not stop talking about how kind Jen and Steve are.
Last but not least, the beauty of the barn! The wildflowers are gorgeous, the grounds are clean. The mountains in the background made for great pictures! The most amazing day
We cannot express how amazing this venue is! From day one, Steve was always very responsive to questions and accommodations during the planning process. We were able to go to the venue multiple times during planning to be able to see our vision with decor and centerpieces. The morning of our wedding, the bridal party relaxed in the beautiful bridal suite. It was raining in the morning and Jenn was able to keep all of our nerves at ease with having an indoor ceremony set up for us if needed. About 10 minutes before the ceremony, the rain cleared and sun appeared. Jenn and her outstanding team prepared for an outdoor ceremony and transformed the inside back to the dining room. It was absolutely amazing! Steve and Jenn both made sure that our day went smoothly and most importantly that we were having the best night of our lives. Their team was very accommodating and the food was delicious! Our guests all had a great time and still talk about our wedding 6 months later. The Barn at Smugglers’ Notch is a dream come true! Not only is there the most perfect views of Mount Mansfield, but also a perfect venue to make your wedding the most beautiful day. Our wedding was executed just as we planned without any hiccups thanks to Steve and Jennifer. The bridal loft was perfect for the bridal party to get ready and relax before the start of festivities. My favorite part of the loft was looking out the windows and watching all our family and friends gather together with smiles and excitement and best of all, my groom waiting for me at the flower covered arbor. Just by looking out that loft window it made all stress that I had go away because I saw how perfect everything was.
All our food was outstanding and delicious, our guests were so pleased and still talk about all the dishes. Thank you Cast Iron Catering for all your hard work and wonderful flavors you provided us and presentation of the food.
We wish we could re live this day over and over again because it was beyond perfect.

Stunning Venue!

We could talk about what great people Steve and Jenn are-the fact that we clicked with them right away and never felt like our wedding was just a business transaction at their incredible venue. Steve opened up the barn on a random Sunday following a Saturday event, just so my mother could see it during a visit. We could speak at length about the how good their partners are-Smugglers Notch Resort (in our case accommodations, shuttle service, breakfast), Cast Iron Catering, Jay Kennedy (photographer), Vermont Tent Company, etc. Steve and Jenn are a dynamic duo. Jenn was phenomenal with the coordination and details the day of the ceremony. Steve put our mind at ease with his attentiveness and logistics throughout the process.
But, I think what is most telling, and likely the most beneficial to those considering The Barn, is some of the feedback we heard throughout the evening, and for weeks after:
"What an incredible venue in a fantastic setting"
"This is the nicest wedding we've ever been too"

We can’t express how happy and thankful we are for having our wedding at the barn! Steve and Jenn were the best venue owners, day of coordination wedding planners and helped make us feel truly loved. Everything from the bridal suite to the bar was amazing, we wouldn’t change one thing about our day. All of the details from the barn itself, the tables and chairs and the beautiful staircase were what made us fall in love with our venue. The weather was perfect which was just an added bonus. Our Dream Wedding in the Mountains 🏔
This wedding venue is absolutely breathtaking!!!! My husband introduced me to Vermont and I instantly fell in love and wanted our dream wedding here!!! The Barn at Smugglers Notch is beautiful inside and outside. We had our ceremony outside and having Mount Mansfield and a field of wildflowers in the background was absolutely GORGEOUS!!!! All of our guests had the best time and couldn’t stop talking about the view and the stunning Barn!!! Steve and Jen were awesome and did such a great job helping out with everything! And they are both so nice and we felt like we have known them for a long time. The catering was on point!!!! We did the BBQ and most of my guests went up for seconds it was so good!!! It’s hard to summarize how amazing this venue and establishment is. From the first time seeing the barn we fell in love with its beauty and elegance on top of the stunning backdrop. If that wasn’t a selling point in itself, the owners Steve and Jen were an absolute pleasure to work with. They are hands on and helpful during the entire process, responsive within hours and care so much for their guests. We truly will miss getting to see and talk to them now that our wedding is over, but we know it won’t be the last time at the barn! Steve was serving us and our guests drinks during the night and Jen tended to us with drinks and food all night. The whole catering staff and bar staff were loved by all our guests. The food was fresh, delicious and menu created personally by us. Our guests couldn’t believe the efficiency and how quickly they were served at the bar, and the Stowe Winery’s wine is amazing! We actually went back the day after our wedding to relax on the patio and relive the night with their wine! Our guests couldn’t believe the views and beauty of the barn. We got married on July 6th at The Barn at Smugglers Notch and the day was everything we had hoped for and so much more! Steve and Jenn are a dynamic duo who worked tirelessly to ensure our day went perfectly. From the initial contact with Steve over a year ago, straight through the entire planning process and wedding day, he was very responsive and ALL of our questions were answered! He was very professional and great to work with! The location is stunning and we were excited to have our ceremony outside at the arbor in front of the mountain landscape and field of wildflowers. Thankfully, during our rehearsal, Jenn had us run through the ceremony inside as well as out, so when it ended up raining the next day we didn't panic. She had made sure we were prepared and everything was planned for. Inside The Barn, it was air conditioned and the space set up beautifully, our ceremony went off without a hitch! Afterwards, it stopped raining and guests were outside enjoying the patio, view and lawn games. Our guests are still talking about the food, the location, the beauty of The Barn and the experience they had! The Barn at Smugglers' Notch is simply perfection and I could not have begun to imagine a more sublime wedding day. The space is bright and elegant and not in need of a single additional decoration. Not to mention the drama of the mountain backdrop is unmatched anywhere in Vermont. Steve and Jenn were an absolute dream to work with! They could not have been more flexible and accommodating to my challenging schedule. Steve is exceptionally prompt and specific in communication and he went above and beyond working with distributors to secure some select products that we wanted for our bar service. Jenn oversaw every minute detail on wedding day ensuring that I didn't have to do a single thing other than show up. She even arranged to have my flower centerpieces donated to the local hospital the next morning which truly blew me away. Steve and Jenn are consummate professionals who are exceptional at executing your exact vision for wedding day and making it feel like the easiest thing in the world! Furthermore, they offer a broad team of exemplary wedding vendors who make the day utterly seamless. My husband and I chose this venue because of its location-in our backyard. We would recommend this location to anyone because of its beauty, inside and out, and the thoroughness that Steve and Jenn provide in making the whole wedding experiment seem effortless. emails-I’m pretty type A, so there were a lot. At the rehearsal and the day of, Jenn was absolutely amazing. The view was to die for! Steve, Jennifer, and their team of bartenders were so helpful throughout the entire process. Steve always responded to us promptly - even if he was away on vacation or it was 2am! Very flexible and accommodating especially when it came to rehearsal and the day of the wedding. The bartenders were so friendly with all of our guests and even went so far as to make one of our nieces a special "snack" (blueberries) at the end of the night which meant so much to us and made her feel like she was so important. Steve worked with our schedules for everything and both him and Jennifer helped so much on the day of our wedding with keeping our schedule in line.
The Barn has a natural beauty to it which requires so little decorating to make for the perfect wedding. Steve and Jennifer have done a great job designing and decorating the Barn, creating a warm and intimate feeling. You can definitely see they have paid a lot of attention to the details. The sound and lighting systems are amazing and help to set different moods throughout the wedding.

From beginning to end, our experience with The Barn at Smugglers' Notch was professional, supportive, helpful, actually enjoyable, and fun! My, now, husband, just kept walking around the day after our wedding saying 'it was perfect'. Steve and Jenn worked with our budget and made our day not only what we had imagined, but better! They're quick to respond to questions, there's an option for every budget for bar services, food services, and decorations visions (honestly tho, the venue is so pretty on it's own that we chose to do minimal decorating and it was beautiful). They made every decision so easy and the day of... took care of everything; which was amazing. There's so much going on the day of that having Steve and Jenn just run the show and ensure that we were happy, not stressed, and having fun was such a relief.
The process of planning and wedding should be enjoyed; I'd be lying if I said there wasn't stress, but Steve and Jenn really did a great job reminding us that every decision should be exciting and fun, not stressful. I honestly do not think we would've had the wedding experience we had if we had not had it at The Barn; I wouldn't change a thing about that day and we both had a great time NOT worrying about anything other than having fun with each other and our guests.The Barn at Smugglers' Notch's reply:

My husband Neal and I were married on June 24, 2018 at The Barn. We absolutely loved the venue's natural lighting and scenic views. We had attended another wedding there prior to booking and we were impressed. We worked primarily with Steve for venue and ceremony planning and Amanda for all things catering. Steve was fabulous to work with and we absolutely LOVED Amanda. Our wedding took place on a Sunday, so the catering team had already worked a wedding on that Saturday. Everyone was very professional and timely. I absolutely loved getting ready with my girls in the bridal suite above The Barn. I had TWELVE bridesmaids, plus our flower girl, my mom, Neal's mom, and several others. We all fit comfortably there and the pictures were gorgeous. Steve was very flexible in our sometimes unconventional requests, which allowed for our flute choir to perform twice. I have celiac disease and the chef was incredibly accommodating in preparing a variety of dining options. I would absolutely recommend The Barn for any wedding or larger event. Jason Sent on 07/30/2018Steve and Jennifer are the consummate professionals. As the groom I was not aware of the issue with our wedding cake not arriving until the last minute. Without myself or Meagan really knowing what was going on, Jennifer has already put a plan into motion to ensure that no matter what we would have something to cut into as well as our guests to eat for dessert.
Steve responds quickly and his ONLY goal is to give you the day of your dreams and make it go off without any issues. There is a reason why they have a in house caterer, simply because they are the best.
The crew at Cast Iron Catering provide the best food and best service. The meal is prepared onsite in the professional kitchen and literally comes out of the oven and onto your plate. The greens and vegetables are handpicked from a 300 acre organic farm in Waitsfield, VT. No one else is Vermont can match this, NO ONE!!
The outdoor area allowed our guests to relax on the patio and play cornhole as well as mingle and enjoy the outdoors. The bar service was topnotch, and when I asked Steve if we could have Sangria his response was no problem.
There is a simple reason why they are ranked in the top 5% of all wedding Venues. They are simply the best.

Sarah Sent on 07/15/2018We got married at The Barn last night (July 14th) and I could hardly wait to write my review. I don’t even know where to start. EVERYTHING was perfect. The place is gorgeous that I barely even needed decorations - literally only for the tables. The bridal suite was the perfect place for me and my massive group of bridesmaids and my mother and mother in law to get ready. Steve was so accommodating all night and continually checked in to make sure we were happy. The food had rave reviews across the board (we had ribeye, chicken, and baked cod). The team moved quickly and everyone had food in a quick manner. I met with Amanda (working with cast iron catering) the day before to iron out details and she was so efficient. They let me set up one table and then next time I saw the barn every table was set up and everything looked exactly how I pictured it and I could relax and not worry about a thing. You can’t beat how beautiful this place is I promise.
And one of the BEST things was coming back to pick up our stuff the next morning when we were so tired and dreading it and seeing everything on one table right next to the door. It took us less then 15 minutes to load our cars and we were on our way.

Michelle Sent on 06/27/2018My husband and I got married on June 9th at the Barn at Smugglers Notch. First off, the Barn is absolutely stunning, both inside and out. The lawn has amazing views of the mountains and the inside of the barn is clean and elegant. My guests were raving about the beauty of the venue. Since the moment we booked the venue, Steve and his wife, Jen, are incredibly kind people and were very helpful throughout the entire wedding planning process. Steve always responded very promptly to all my questions and was accommodating to all our requests. It was clear that Steve and Jen wanted us to have the wedding we had always dreamed about. The in-house catering team, Cast Iron Catering, is phenomenal. During the planning process, Kristin, the director of catering, drafted several dinner menus that were within our budget. And I must say - the food was outstanding. Chef Vince is amazing at what he does and he was able to put together a delicious menu that our guests loved. Kristin was also incredibly organized leading up to the wedding ceremony and there were no unanswered questions leading up to the big day. The day of the wedding, Kristin was incredibly helpful and her staff did an amazing job with the set-up and service throughout the day. Kristin also made sure the timeline of the wedding was seamless and it went on without any glitches. It was clearly evident that every staff member in the Barn was focused on making our wedding day perfect. The in-house wine selections are amazing and I was thrilled to be able to offer 6 different types of wine! Also, the bartenders came up with an amazing signature cocktail that fit the theme of the wedding perfectly. My husband and I would highly recommend this venue!!

Debbie Sent on 05/30/2018Our family would encourage future couples near and far to visit The Barn in Jeffersonville, Vermont before making a decision on venue!! Our son and daughter-in-law live in Texas but decided to wed in Vermont where myself, my husband, and family grew up. The mountains as a backdrop were just beautiful!!! We cannot say enough about our wonderful experience. Steve and Jennifer were so accommodating, and were right on top of the small but important details the morning and afternoon before the guests arrived! The wedding was outside at 4 pm, and the few kids that were there were able to run outside, making the venue even more ideal! We had 80-something adults, and there was so much room inside allowing for freedom to mingle. We had an open bar, and the bartenders were extremely friendly and very competent.

Every time we visited, we were blown away again with how lucky we were to be able to celebrate our love and life together in front of such an incredible view, and in such a beautiful building. We couldn't have asked for a more gorgeous ceremony on a fall day in Vermont, and the inside space barely had to be decorated as it is already so lovely. Beyond the obvious, though, there was the experience of working with Steve and Jennifer, for which we are so grateful. We appreciated so much their personal attention and enthusiasm for our event from the first time we met with them, and we have loved working with them since then. Their passion for their work and for investing each celebration at the Barn with individual attention and care is inspiring. They really cared about helping us craft our wedding exactly the way we wanted it, and were so helpful with working out the details as we did so. In addition, they have done an amazing job building a team in their collaborations with Cast Iron Catering and Portrait Gallery for photography. Both were incredible! In particular, our experience with Cast Iron Catering was absolutely perfect from start to finish, and their familiarity with the space of the Barn and working relationship with Steve and Jennifer made planning go so easily and smoothly. (And the food was SO GOOD!! So, so good.) Our day was truly magical and full of so much joy, and a big part of that was the tone and ambiance set by Steve and Jennifer in their wonderful, gorgeous, home-y space. Once we visited The Barn, it was totally love at first sight. Of course the property is surrounded by the best natural beauty Vermont has to offer but the interior of The Barn at Smugglers Notch is truly breathtaking. The gorgeous interior space is big enough for large events but still can tastefully fit smaller wedding parties such as ours. The Bridal Suit in the loft is luxurious and intimate (seriously amazing!).
Although planning a wedding is a joyful time it can sometimes be nerve wracking experience. Steve and Jennifer made planning our wedding a wonderful experience. Their care and concern for their clients in unparalleled and do everything to make sure your special day will be be a beautiful and cherished memory. The Barn's vendor team is nothing but the best and their in house caterer, Cast Iron Catering, provided amazing seasonal fare that our guests are still talking about.
