Our wedding at Lowndes Grove was an absolute dream! This venue is truly one of the most breathtaking locations, with its stunning waterfront views, historic charm, and picturesque setting. Every detail, from the gorgeous oak trees to the elegant architecture, created the perfect backdrop for our special day. Erin, our event manager was absolutely incredible making sure that everything throughout the day ran smoothly. Beyond the beauty of the venue, the staff at Lowndes Grove is what truly sets it apart. They were exceptional in every way—professional, attentive, and dedicated to making sure our day was flawless. From start to finish, they went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly, allowing us to fully enjoy every moment. The food was also FANTASTIC and our guests couldn't get over the cuisine as well as the incredible service. Our guests were in awe of the venue, and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect place to celebrate our love. If you’re looking for a wedding venue that is both breathtaking and backed by an amazing team, Lowndes Grove is simply the best!

From the moment we first visited Magnolia Gardens, we knew it was something special. Natasha was so warm and welcoming, instantly making us feel at ease and excited about the possibility of hosting our wedding there. Our wedding day at Magnolia Gardens was truly a dream. The grounds were absolutely stunning, and we loved having the entire property to ourselves—it made the day feel so personal and relaxed. Our guests were blown away by the beauty of the venue, and our photos turned out better than we ever imagined. Magnolia Gardens also holds a special place in my heart, as it was meaningful to my late father. I truly can’t imagine getting married anywhere else. Thank you for helping make our day so unforgettable—we highly recommend this venue to any couple looking for something truly magical.

The William Aiken House is, without a doubt, the most elegant, unique, and vintage wedding venue we've ever experienced. From the moment we stepped inside, we knew we had chosen the perfect place for our special day. The historic charm and sophisticated ambiance created the most enchanting atmosphere that set the tone for an unforgettable celebration. The food was absolutely exceptional—our guests continue to rave about it, calling it the best wedding food they've ever had. Honestly, I wish they had a restaurant because I still think about how delicious every bite was! The culinary team truly outdid themselves, crafting a menu that was as delightful as it was memorable. Kelly was a tremendous help throughout the entire planning process. Her expert guidance and thoughtful advice made all the difference, helping us make choices that brought our vision to life. She went above and beyond to ensure every detail was just right, and on the day of our wedding, the service was nothing short of superb. The staff at The William Aiken House made everything run so smoothly that we were able to simply enjoy the moment without a worry in the world. If we could give Margaret Mackenzie 10 stars, we would. From the very beginning, Margaret felt less like a wedding planner and more like a fairy godmother who somehow made every single dream we had not only possible, but even more beautiful than we imagined. Planning a wedding at Old Wide Awake already comes with the advantage of one of the most stunning venues in Charleston — but having Margaret as both our planner and the venue’s event manager was absolutely invaluable. Her knowledge of the property, her deep experience planning weddings there, and her incredible vendor relationships made the entire process feel seamless. She knew every detail, every possibility, every logistical consideration, and every person needed to bring our vision to life. And to say we had ideas would be an understatement. We came to Margaret with so many concepts that pushed beyond the “standard” wedding setup at the venue, including one particularly ambitious vision: a single 140-person dinner table running down the iconic Avenue of Oaks. Instead of hesitation or limitations, Margaret’s response was always: “Yep, let’s do it.” Her “say yes” attitude made the entire experience feel exciting, collaborative, and creative. She never made us feel like our ideas were too complicated or too unconventional — she embraced them wholeheartedly and then worked tirelessly behind the scenes to actually make them happen. What truly sets Margaret apart is that she goes far beyond logistics and timelines. Her calm, friendly demeanor and genuine excitement for our wedding carried us through every stressful moment of planning. You could feel how much she cared, and that energy made all the difference. She celebrated alongside us, reassured us when we needed it, and somehow made the entire process feel joyful instead of overwhelming. By the time our September 2025 wedding arrived, everything felt effortless — and that’s entirely because Margaret had thought through every detail with such care and expertise. Our wedding was beyond anything we could have imagined, and so much of that magic came from her. We truly cannot say enough wonderful things about Margaret Mackenzie. If you are planning a wedding in Charleston, especially at Old Wide Awake, hiring her is one of the best decisions you could possibly make. We would recommend her 10,000 times over without hesitation.

The level of professionalism and service far exceeded my expectations. Every member of the staff demonstrated an exceptional commitment to excellence, consistently anticipating needs and proactively offering assistance in a thoughtful and genuine way. Communication was prompt, clear, and incredibly responsive throughout the entire experience. Most impressive was the flawless execution—the setting was absolutely stunning, and every detail came together beautifully. The timing and flow of both food and beverages were perfectly orchestrated, creating an effortless and enjoyable experience for all. Truly outstanding in every regard.

I had a beautiful September wedding at the Rice Mill. I cannot thank Tristan and the team at Holy City Hospitality enough for the venue and services for my wedding. I was impressed with all of the time and effort Tristan (day of coordinator) invested in helping us coordinate every moment of the event and coordinate with the vendors. This was particularly helpful because everyone at the wedding (including myself) were not local to the area. Tristan and the team provided us recommendations and assistance throughout the entire wedding planning process. Our rehearsal dinner was held at Virginia on Kings (another restaurant part of the Holy City Hospitality Group), the food was great (no one left hungry). It was helpful and efficient planning both events with the same Hospitality Team. The venue was beautiful and a perfect size for our wedding of approx. 80 people. The wedding ceremony and reception was executed exactly as planned. The food and drinks were impressive and tasty. As a Type A bride, it felt great being able to rely on a coordinator and team I trusted to make my day perfect. I would highly recommend others to choose the Historic Rice Mill for a beautiful, memorable wedding.

Our wedding at the SC Aquarium was just beautiful! Even though we planned to have our ceremony on the terrace, the weather decided otherwise. The ceremony was instead switched to the Great Ocean Tank Room image and the massive tank served as our backdrop vs the bridge. That was no problem because it worked out perfectly. Sarah Noble and her staff were great! They worked seamlessly with our other vendors.. Family and friends are still raving about what a great venue it was and how elegant, fun and unique the Aquarium was for our wedding. If you love a unique venue that does not require a great deal of decorating, is easy to work with and is absolutely beautiful in every way…choose SC Aquarium. Oh, and I highly recommend going with the additional 1hr…the photo booth was a hit and the rehearsal time gave off the opportunity to prepare in case of wedding day rain…this was a big help since it did rain on our wedding day.

Our wedding was held at the old Harbour Club location back in 2019 (ceremony/cocktail hour on rooftop, reception on lower level room). The venue was in a FANTASTIC location..not sure where the new one is. Overall, our wedding was beautiful and everything ran smoothly. We got many compliments on the food and bar service so that's HUGE. Communication with the event coordinator was a little tough at times, but when we did connect she was SO helpful. Only downside is that I think because the venue was moving there were some building issues they didn't keep top of mind (tops of lights missing on rooftop and at entrance..), but shouldn't be an issue in the new location.

We are so happy that we chose Charleston Yacht Club for our wedding reception, not only because of the venue and the views, but also in large part because of Debbie. Having her help us through each step of the planning process made everything so much easier... and she is SO nice and SO patient and has the best personality. She also has something that is not so easy to come by - empathy. Even though she must have helped dozens of brides before me, she was just as invested in the outcome of the reception as I was. Knowing that she had our back and genuinely cared about us made all the difference. Our guests loved being there on the evening of and enjoyed flowing in and out of the main room and the decks. I can’t speak highly enough of CYC for both the management and the party experience.

Legare Waring House was the most gorgeous location for our March wedding. The staff was great to work with, and the house was the perfect getting ready location for the girls and guys on the morning of the wedding. Because this venue requires everything being brought in, we hired a full planner (highly recommend Bouquets & Bowties) which made the logistics easy to navigate. Our guests were blown away by the avenue of the Oaks, the gorgeous gardens of cocktail hour and all the history in the house. Perfect venue!
