Laureen at Styles on B is, without exaggeration, a bridal hair unicorn — especially if you have curly hair. I spent weeks searching for someone who actually understood natural curls. Every other stylist wanted to blow my curls out first and “curl them back,” which anyone with curly hair knows is a one-way ticket to flat roots, limp ends, and curls that don’t look like yours at all. Laureen immediately understood all of this. From the moment I walked into my trial, I felt seen, understood, and instantly relaxed. She has this warm, calming, genuinely comforting presence that makes you feel like you’re in the best hands of your life. She listened, asked smart questions, and then I showed her my dress — and this is where her brilliance really took off. Laureen is an engineer, and she brought that same structural, artistic mind to my hair. She didn’t just “do an updo.” She designed a hairstyle that echoed the movement, flow, and detail of my gown. My hair looked like a couture extension of the dress itself. It was beyond anything I imagined. On the wedding day, she executed every curl with surgeon-level precision. She used different curlers and techniques to get my curls fully defined from the root, with volume, dimension, and hold — not stiff, not crunchy, just… perfect. Then, she took a piece of appliqué from my gown and wove it seamlessly into the side of my hairstyle, exactly where the appliqué sits on my dress. I wasn’t wearing a veil, and this became the focal point for the entire bridal look. Guests were obsessed. I was obsessed. I only had one bridesmaid, and a few friends joined me while getting ready — and every single one of them loved her. She never rushed, never stressed anyone out, and somehow kept us perfectly on schedule without sacrificing an ounce of artistry. She created the calm, happy, unhurried bridal morning every bride dreams of. My curls stayed flawless the entire night — photographed beautifully, held their shape, and still looked like my curls, just elevated and perfected. Laureen is the real deal. If you are a curly-haired bride, she is not just a great option — she is the option. And even if you don’t have curls, she’s simply one of the most talented stylists you will ever meet. I would recommend her a thousand times over.

Vesta’s experience was very valuable. She was calm and supportive and her work was beautiful. She went the extra mile and helped bundle up the bride for an outdoor December wedding in New York City! She even walked us to our destination! Highly recommend!

Jenn was absolutely amazing as my wedding day hairstylist! From the very beginning, she was prompt in her responses and incredibly professional. She made both myself and my bridal party feel so comfortable and confident. Our hairstyles were not only beautiful, but they lasted the entire day and night — even through plenty of dancing! Jenn is not only talented, but also incredibly friendly and kind, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend Jenn to any bride looking for gorgeous, reliable hairstyling from someone who’s truly a pleasure to work with!

I had Marissa as my hair and makeup artist and she was amazing! I will admit I was a little nervous after my trial, which I highly recommend doing as we needed it to work out some kinks in what I wanted, but then didn't know exactly what things would look like day of. Well my day of hair and makeup exceeded all expectations and lasted solidly all night despite lots of dancing and sweating. I am also a pale person who is hard to color match and can easily have makeup look heavy so I was very impressed. She also rolled with the punches when my bridesmaids were having a couple of issues and stayed very kind and professional.

Lauren’s impeccable taste, artistic skill, and most of all, kindness made me feel beautiful and confident on my wedding day. When I first reached out to Lauren, it had been around a decade since I’d last had a full face of makeup, and I was nervous about looking and feeling like myself in my wedding pictures. Lauren was just incredible. She corresponded with me over email and on calls to strategize and develop the perfect look for me. And the look that Lauren created for me was perfect! She ensured that all of my natural features, even my freckles, were visible while accentuating the parts of my face that I like best. Lauren gave me luxurious lashes, open eyes, and glowing skin—and most importantly, she made me feel relaxed and pampered in the make-up chair. The effect of Lauren’s “no make-up” look was dramatic. My best guy friend and my husband’s best man both had knee-jerk shocked reactions—the former shouted that I looked amazing, and the latter almost fell over as he came around a corner and caught a glimpse of my face. Both qualified, later, that they had never seen me looking so glamorous, and they were stunned. While the men of the wedding were reacting to Lauren’s makeup, Lauren was upstairs taking the best care of my mother-in-law. My mother-in-law is an icon in my social group: famous for her dramatic reactions and exacting yet capricious requirements of everyone in her life. Lauren stuck with her as she changed her mind, tweaked the makeup, and ultimately pointed at my face, saying “like that, like that,” treating her with patience and compassion. When Lauren was finished, my mother-in-law looked the best I’ve ever seen her, and my bridesmaids and flower girls were ethereal. I will certainly be calling on Lauren for all future life events when I have to be photographed—including my doctoral graduation!—and I cannot recommend her highly enough, as a fabulously talented artist and a lovely person.

Came in from out of town and I had Maria do my make up. She did a fantastic job. She listened to my needs.. I have sensitive skin She had all dermatology tested Makeup. When I got to my events, all my friends said wow you look amazing I felt so good that night after being so down in the dumps that made me feel good!!! Maria is great to work with so easy-going I will highly recommend her to others which I did that day at the event anyway thank you Maria xox!

I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about her. Not only is she absolutely beautiful inside and out, but her talent is next level. My makeup on set looked flawless on camera, held up beautifully, and made me feel confident and comfortable the entire time. Highly recommend.
