Just over a year ago we met Allison and toured Hotel Walloon and The Talcott for the first time. A major snowstorm had just blown through, but not even the blankets of snow covering every inch of the ground could hinder us from envisioning how spectacular our wedding would be in September. And it truly was everything we had hoped for and more. From the first correspondence to our first time seeing the venue, Allison and her team made us feel so comfortable and welcome. Since we reside out of state, we reached out many times throughout the year asking questions regarding the venue or the local area and Allison was always so prompt and happy to respond. The Hotel Walloon team was excited to help us coordinate our unique wedding vision with a small ceremony for our immediate family in the yard of The Inn at Walloon Lake followed by a large reception for 175 people at the Talcott. The Hotel Walloon team was there every step of the way, helping us coordinate with our vendors and guests to make sure everything was perfect for our big day. They worked with us to make some customizations to our bar package and worked with the florist to hang lights and greenery from the ceiling structure. Our stay in the hotel exceeded our every expectation as well… The staff was so friendly, greeting us upon every arrival or passing in the hall. They made sure our entire party had everything we needed and would promptly address any request. Hotel Walloon brought together all the pieces and details that made our wedding day flawless from the moment we woke up in the hotel on our Wedding day, until the last vendors and guests left. We cannot say enough about how wonderful our wedding and stay were at Hotel Walloon and The Talcott, and we have Allison and the Hotel Walloon team to thank for that. We truly would not change a thing about our experience, except maybe extending our stay longer so that we could have soaked in every ounce of charm that Hotel Walloon has to offer. Mark our words, we will be returning as often as possible to celebrate anniversaries or just to enjoy a get-away from the city.

Where do I begin with my review of Sojourn? Our wedding year is about to come to an end, and I can't help but wish we can turn back the clocks and go back to our wedding weekend in Gaylord, Michigan at Sojourn Lakeside Resort. My husband and I got married July 9th 2022. We got engaged on Dec 25th 2020, and in January of 2021 we quickly began searching for our dream venue. Here's what we wanted: -A northern Michigan destination -A beautiful property with land, and private from the public and main road. -A venue where our immediate family and wedding party can stay on site, and relax and party. -Not a wedding factory (meaning a venue that has a wedding every day and you only get the venue from 10am-10/11pm) -A venue where we can party till midnight. -A place where we felt welcomed. -A venue that included pretty chivalry chairs, tables, and bar area/stands. - Included a place for bridal party suite to get ready separate from the groomsmen -A beautiful ceremony location. (On/near water preferably ;) ) -A trusted venue coordinator (Shout out to JOY! She killed it.) -Ultimately a venue where we can have the best weekend of our lives = Sojourn Lakeside Resort. My husband and I can't express our gratitude and happiness for Sojourn, and the amazing experience we had there with our friends and family. From the first time meeting Joy and getting the tour of the venue, and throughout the whole wedding process, Sojourn did not let us down. We actually live 3 hours from Gaylord, and several times my mom and I ventured up there to check on things, and take measurements and Joy had no problem with this! She was so gracious, and calmed my bride nerves letting me visit several times. She also never seemed irritated by phone calls or emails regarding questions. In fact, she welcomed them and always seemed happy to help in any way. The wedding weekend was a blast! Most of our wedding party lived out of state, and they could not get over how awesome our venue was! It was one big party from the time everyone arrive on Thursday-Sunday morning. We even had Friday be a whole day of games and relays before the rehearsal/rehearsal dinner. It was called "BRIDE VS GROOM" and it was hysterical. The wedding day was great because the girls and I got to chill and get ready in the welcome center while the groomsmen hanged back by the lake with their dates, and our families on site. Then they got ready in their rooms and met up in the hospitality suite. The Wedding ceremony was at 4:30pm and we could not have asked for more perfect weather! Truly everything about our wedding was great. The Reception space also has a stage, and really add that extra wow for our band. We had a 150 person wedding (this includes wedding party and us) and that just fit perfectly in the reception space. I think any more would have been tight, but worked great for us! Plus I always wanted a kings table for the wedding party and my groom, and I got it! It looked great! Our guests kept saying "how did you find this place?"-We are so thankful we did. Sojourn is everything I listed of our dream venue, and more. Thank you Sojourn for being such a wonderful place. You made our wedding everything we hoped for.

We could not have asked for a more perfect wedding at the Delamar Hotel! My now husband and I originally spent part of our first date on the hotel's outdoor patio facing the bay. Once engaged we were estatic that the hotel was an option to host our wedding reception. From our initial inquiry, Susan, Kim, and Erikah were outstanding in helping to make our wedding the most perfect day. Every step of the way they were available and equally as excited and enthusiastic in coordinating every minute detail for our reception. I cannot thank them enough for making the process of planning a wedding that much easier for the incredible task that it is! Everything from our initial meetings, to our tasting, tours of the space, etc was met with the best communication, professionalism, and genuine kindness. We live locally, so it was truly a treat each time we met with them to discuss our reception, and are excited to continue our relationship with them post wedding! From the waterfront views, the outstanding catering via the Artisan Restaurant, and of course the amazing work and collaboration with the events team- the Delamar is truly a gem in TC and a perfect wedding venue. We highly recommend the Delamar hotel. Thank you so much to Susan, Kim, Erikah, and their entire team for giving us the greatest day that we will never forget!

The staff was amazing the throughout the whole process. They were helpful, knowledgable, responsive and took care of every detail of us with care and professionalism. The whole facility is absolutely stunning and so well designed and thought out. Our guests raved about the venue and food!

Exactly the venue we were looking for. This space gives you the flexibility to build the exact ceremony and reception you've always envisioned with the gorgeous backdrop of Lake Michigan to make it even more perfect. Having our close friends and family all able to stay right on site for the whole weekend was the cherry on top.

Beautiful space to have our wedding weekend, we loved being able to host everything in one space and have the ease of sleeping onsite as well. The whole team was super to work with and very patient and responsive with our questions and concerns

Lindsey was amazing!! She accommodated so much for us! The day went so smooth and everything was perfect. I cant recommend this venue enough!

The perfect wedding weekend! Apple Blossom is a fantastic venue for a wedding and since we rented it for 4 nights it made our wedding even more special since we had more time with family and friends before the big day on Saturday! Highly recommended venue and would love to go back again!!

The affordability of Caberfae is what first drew us in, then the fact that lodging could be on site really sealed the deal. Our entire day was perfect and I never once had to worry about everything being perfect, Caberfae made sure it was done. I highly recommend them to any future bride/ groom!
