Pine Mountain Ski & Golf Resort offers experiences under the open skies as well as indoor event spaces. The heart of the property is The Sitzmark, a historic room with a private bar and stone fireplace for up to 75 people. The Spruce Room is the largest of the banquet event spaces, accommodating up to 210 people while the Alpine Room hosts up to 110 people.

History

Fred Pabst, from the Pabst Brewing family, cleared and opened Pine Mountain in December 1939. His vision was to create a place to encourage guests to ski while demonstrating his lift product, Ski Tows, Inc. He also offered train journeys from Chicago and Milwaukee, helping to raise the profile of this hill in the late 30s and early 40s. This property was purchased after the Second World War by Laverne Trepp and Irvine Johnson, two members of the 10th Mountain Division. Their innovation resulted in this resort having a warming room, snow-making capability, grooming, and aerial lifts, making it the only ski-in and ski-out resort in the Upper Peninsula area. The TimberStone* Golf Course was completed in 1996, allowing golfers to enjoy incredible summers on the hill, while 2019 saw a major acquisition and renovation of the property.
