Off Map was incredible. The venue was so magical-it was everything we wanted! The staff were super hands on , they would find my husband and I, and our parents to see if we needing anything throughout the weekend. The communication from time of booking to the wedding day was great; they responded to every need we had. A lot of our guests mentioned this being the most unique and beautiful venue they had been to. We had the best weekend and can't wait to visit in the future!

We stayed at Boyne Mountain, along with many of our guests, for our wedding weekend in August 2023. We were impressed start to finish! We felt like royalty when we got glasses of champagne at check-in. Our room was very comfortable - jacuzzi tub, view of the mountain, and fluffy robes for us to wear! Spa day for the bridal party was a big success - the spa staff was so accommodating to our last minute schedule adjustments, and it was the most quality pedicure I’ve ever had! Front desk staff was very helpful in ensuring that our welcome bags ended up with our guests. We had delicious meals at Everett’s, and had a great time at the Snowflake Lounge too! We will be back :)

My wife and I are so glad we booked our wedding and reception at the Schoolhouse! It has a great set up for small to moderate sized wedding parties! The pay it forward closet is one of its most surprising features! We used many decorations, flowers, etc! It all worked so well together and helped us save money! Sarah and her staff are all so helpful and accommodating and they have an extensive list of vendors they have worked with that we used to create our best wedding day! They’re not “preferred” or “have to use” vendors - but ones that have been to the schoolhouse before - and the couples have been happy with. This allowed us to have the perfect day. Everyone worked perfectly together. Located close to I-196 and Chicago Drive it is a great location. We are so beyond happy this was our venue!

Our wedding at Camp Pinewood was everything we hoped for and more. The venue is absolutely stunning, and the staff were all friendly and helpful. Our guests had so much fun with the activities, and I know our more introverted guests really enjoyed being able to escape outside and enjoy the trails when the party got going in the lodge. We loved having so much space and so many fun things to do. We highly recommend camp pinewood to anyone looking for a highly unique, fun, outdoorsy wedding!

We got married in early October 2021 and had found the Michigan Wildlife Conservancy for our venue about a year before. Reasons that we booked it: #1: It is an absolutely gorgeous venue! There was little need for decoration because the venue really spoke volumes on it’s own. There are 3 different locations for the ceremony and so many beautiful places for photos. #2: Overall it was pretty handicap accessible (which is difficult to find in outdoor venues.) #3: It was able to be converted indoors in the event that it rained (which it did) but everything was still beautiful. #4: The price was right and you could accommodate a rather large wedding there. Our wedding was only 80 people, but had so much room to roam around, dance and enjoy. Brittany was great to work with overall. The bartender that worked our wedding was nice, understanding, and even remembered people’s drinks when they went back up for another round. My only complaint is you are charged extra for not using their vendors (Big ones like DJ, Cater, Photographer) and had to use their Bar set up and Bartenders. For us personally this was not a big deal, but may be for some. The extra charge for non preferred vendors was very not large. Was such a beautiful venue and I would pick it over and over again for our wedding if I had to!

The Nature Center grounds was picture perfect for our wedding. Even though it was over our budget, we liked that the money went to support the Nature Center, a non-profit. Rose was very responsive and good to work with. She loves sustainability and so do we! She was fairly flexible with times. I wish we could have had longer to set up the space however. We ended up renting the venue for an hour longer. We also were able to borrow some things from Rose for décor which was a pleasant surprise. Cant wait to get our pictures back but the grounds were so beautiful in the late summer/early fall. The guests loved being at the Nature Center too. Super accessible with the amphitheater for the ceremony and barn space for the reception. I would definitely recommend to brides and grooms considering the space!

If you're looking for a wedding caterer in Northern Michigan look no further. Ginny and her team catered our Hotel Walloon wedding last month and we are so pleased with everything. The service was efficient, the food was warm and delicious and the staff did a phenomenal job overall. We were able to get a tasting prior to making the commitment which I found to be very comforting. I would 100% recommend Matter of Taste at Tapawingo to anyone in the search of the perfect northern Michigan caterer. Thank you Ginny and team!
