History
The Inn at Blackstone was first founded in 1892 as the Blackstone College for Girls. Among the school's alums were one of the first female Marines, legendary actress Bea Arthur of the Golden Girls, and Nicaragua's first female president, Violeta Chamorro. The college provided safe housing for Fort Pickett soldiers during both World War II and the Korean War. Just two weeks after V-Day, boarders were welcomed back to class and the campus provided education as an all-female institute until their final commencement ceremony in 1950.

Perfect Wedding Weekend
We instantly fell in love with its blend of historic charm and modern elegance. After seeing iconic spots like the grand front steps, the romantic courtyard, and the magnificent tree on the grounds (lovingly known as Sir James), we knew without a doubt that this was where we wanted to get married.
The Inn offers several wedding options to fit couples' needs, but choosing the wedding weekend package was easily the best fit for us. We hosted a welcome party in the courtyard Friday night, spent Saturday getting ready leisurely in the charming suites, and had many guests stay one or two nights with us. Not only was it convenient for everyone, but it also gave us much needed time with family and friends throughout the entire weekend instead of squeezing everything into one day.
The Inn’s venue coordinator, Dianna, was an absolute dream to work with from start to finish. She answered every single question we had (lots of email chains) and genuinely tried to accommodate all of our requests. She and Mackenzie went above and beyond — helping with logistics, offering thoughtful ideas, supporting us throughout the weekend, and making us feel so cared for during the entire process.
We are endlessly grateful to The Inn at Blackstone for giving us the most beautiful, heartfelt wedding weekend we could have imagined.

The Inn Has It All!
The Inn at Blackstone is absolutely stunning. The columns, arches, outdoor patio, and the grounds are perfection for a bride looking for a timeless venue with a modern elements incorporated throughout the interior. Additionally, the rooms are amazing and it’s great to have all your guests stay so they can party all night without having to worry about driving home!
The staff and management of the Inn are top-tier. Diana was constantly there to answer any and all questions I had. When I had a vision, they were committed to making them come to life!
I highly recommend any bride looking for a venue with stunning views, wonderful history, and a committed team dedicated to making their day the best imaginable to look no further and book the Inn at Blackstone!
First Official Wedding at the Inn
Most of our guests were out of town, and loved everything being in one space and that even though it is a hotel it didn’t feel like your normal hotel experience.
The getting ready suites are just perfect. The hair makeup team loved how spacious it was and the natural light that the floor to ceiling windows brought in. Our photographer also loved all of the natural light everywhere, and couldn’t decide on where to take pictures because there were so many options.
We decided to plan a wedding in 2 months, and Diana did so much to help us from helping find vendors for catering, a day of Coordinator (Anna, who was just amazing), and letting us come by whenever we needed no one even could tell that we literally just threw everything together because of how great the Inns staff is and with how great the spaces are.
