Heather, Mo, and GHI staff are absolutely exceptional! We got married at the Golden Horseshoe Inn at the end of June 2026 and cannot say how happy we were that we chose GHI for our special day. From the first visit, you can tell how much work and love this team puts into their work. Throughout the process, Heather and Mo were responsive, helpful, and kind. GHI simplified the daunting and overwhelming wedding process and let us focus on what was important to us. Heather is such a talented photographer (mountain photoshoot was a DREAM) and Mo can probably do anything under the sun (she's amazing, seriously!). Planning a wedding is stressful, but GHI helped us feel stress-free. They helped us accomodate a variety of guest needs (various allergies, family dynamics, accessibility issues, etc.). It rained on our wedding day and GHI quickly turned the inside space into a beautiful intimate ceremony. They then quickly flipped it back into the reception space without missing a beat. After, Heather drove us up to the mountain, found the sun, and took the most amazing photos.

From the moment we stepped foot onto the Golden Horseshoe grounds for a tour, we knew it was the place we would get married. What we didn’t know was just how flawlessly executed the entire experience would be.

Heather and Mo are exceptional—kind, compassionate, and brilliant planners, day-of coordinators, and hosts. To top it all off, Heather is a phenomenal photographer! It was truly the full package.

Throughout the entire process, they anticipated our needs before we even realized them ourselves. We put 100% of our trust in them, and it paid off immensely; the flowers and the cake were stunning and exactly to our taste, even though we hadn't even seen what they looked like beforehand! Their communication was efficient, clear, and completely stress-free; there was never a moment of doubt or ambiguity. Because of the incredible Golden Horseshoe team, we had the most beautiful, fantastic, and perfect day.

They say a couple's wedding day is supposed to be the best day of their lives. Ours absolutely was—not just because we were getting married, but because of the intentional, thoughtful environment Heather and Mo created for us. It felt personal, intimate, and deeply "us." Every single guest was in awe, telling us, “This is the best wedding I’ve ever been to,” “This is the most beautiful venue,” and “Your hosts are absolutely incredible.”

We loved our wedding and all of the interactions with the Golden Horseshoe Inn leading up to the event. Heather and Mo were kind, helpful, and accommodating every step of the way and really made our day perfect. When we first requested to tour the venue, they were willing to open up for us on a holiday that they were expecting to have off. We had requested it because we were only going to be in VA for one day, but they were super welcoming and extremely helpful. Mo walked us through the planning process, outlined all of the options available, and showed us a series of photos of weddings that have occurred in every season. After we decided to choose them, they were able to reserve our date on the spot. Following that, the communication was clear and the payment portal was simple and easy to navigate. When we arrived for our planning meeting, both Mo and Heather were prepared for us and had remembered some of the comments we had made previously. They stepped through every part of the wedding and ensured everything was as we hoped. When we made special requests, they built them into their plan without batting an eye. During the leadup to the wedding, GHI gave us a wedding packet with a to do checklist, a timeline, and explanation of how everything will occur. They also gave us the option of dropping off the drinks and decorations the night before, which was extremely helpful.

In addition to selecting the GHI photography package, we also decided to have our engagement photos taken there because Heather is an excellent photographer. Not only is she skilled in the way she composes and takes the photos, but also in the way she engages with you as you pose. She always seemed to know what to say to get the best smiles out of us. Since receiving both our wedding photos and engagement photos back, we can say they are among the best photos we have of us as a couple and have received many compliments on the photography from our guests. On the day of the wedding, everything went to plan with no stress from either of us, save from the pre-wedding nerves everyone is expected to get. They handled everything, provided us with a walkthrough of the venue before guests arrived with the ability for last minute tweaks, and made sure we all knew were to walk and when. The bouquets were beautiful and the decorations exactly as we described. The ceremony was great and Mo does a fantastic job. She and her team were working around the clock to make sure the food arrived on time and was set up, ensuring the venue remained clean, and corralling people for pictures. Initially, we were slightly worried about the fact that we were not going to be able to taste the cake in advance, but, like everything else, it turned out great. We also found the smores station to be a huge hit, since it was a lovely spring evening. We have had multiple guests tell us since how much they loved it and that the event overall was just extremely well run and cozy. When it was time to leave, everything was packed and ready to go and we were able to leave 30 minutes after the sparkler send off.

After the wedding, Heather was able to get our sneak peek photos to us within 3 days of our wedding, and Mo mailed our wedding certificate in the same time. The full set of photos came about 2 weeks after. As stated above, the number of compliments we have received is overwhelming. Overall, Heather, Mo, and there rest of the GHI team exceeded our expectations, and it is clear why they host so many couples. Their professionalism, expertise, and hospitality are clear in everything we do, and we could not have made a better choice for our wedding venue. From the first tour to the photos shared after, our 2026 wedding with Golden Horseshoe Inn has truly been a 5-star experience! The planning process is personalized and detail-oriented, but also streamlined and seamless. In planning, the included (florals and cake) and suggested (catering) vendors were so fantastic; they are working with some amazing people! Heather as our photographer was exceptional, not only in making us feel comfortable in front of the camera, but capturing the energy and emotion of the day. The guest experience on the wedding day was impeccable--all our guests commented how taken care of they felt by all of the staff. GHI's down-to-a-science timeline ensured the day moved effortlessly for us and the guests. The value of what’s included on paper as well as the unspoken benefits of the incredibly dedicated and responsive staff, the multitude of available decorations and styling options, and stunning location make GHI a hidden gem. We would give 6 stars for value if we could! We could not imagine hosting our wedding anywhere else and hope to return as GHI wedding guests someday. If we were to start the wedding planning process all over again, we would choose GHI every single time. My spouse and I had an incredible experience working with Heather and Monique from the Golden Horseshoe Inn. We initially were not interested in having an actual wedding—we were just going to elope and have a party later—but then I stumbled upon this gem of a venue and it quickly changed our minds.

I never knew planning/preparing for a wedding could be so relatively stress-free. Having all of the major details taken care of by the staff allowed us the time and joy of only needing to focus on the smaller and fun details such as guest lists, seating, and small, extra decorations for the lay-flat photos and table settings (which are all optional).

I also cannot say enough great things about the friendliness and helpfulness from Heather and Monique. They seamlessly walked us through every step, communicated well, and always made us feel at ease throughout the entire process. I would also be remiss not to praise Heather’s wonderful photography. We are so thrilled with the artistic quality of our wedding photos—hard to believe this is included in the package!

Get married here! I worked in hospitality and events before switching careers to healthcare and I CANNOT recommend Golden Horseshoe enough! Seriously, between the pre planning and day of coordination, by the morning of my wedding almost no questions came my way. We laughed, cried, danced, and got amazing photos! THIS IS THE PLACE!

My now husband and I were originally torn between two venues. I have always been the more indecisive one in our partnership, so I told him I needed to see the Golden Horseshoe in person before I could make a final decision.

From the second I walked in the door with my family, Monique made us feel so welcome. If you are on the fence, I highly recommend visiting in person so that you can experience the charm and warmth of the Inn for yourself!

Wedding planning is stressful, especially when you’re doing it from another state, as we were, but Monique and Heather were so kind, thorough, and responsive throughout every step of the process, which we truly appreciated. And on a misty fall afternoon at the end of September, all of that planning culminated in a day that was pure magic from start to finish! I honestly didn’t even mind that it rained and that we couldn’t have the outdoor ceremony that we had planned on because the staff at GHI was able to shift gears on a dime. Now, every detail of our rainy wedding day is precious to me, from the warm din of my loved ones audible from downstairs as I waited to walk down the aisle to the soft patter of the rain on the deck outside as the fairy lights twinkled invitingly at us from every corner of the room. Heather was even game enough to drive us up the mountain in the fog, and it resulted in some absolutely stunning photos, as you can see! Our whole day was a dream, and we can’t thank Heather, Monique, and the whole team at GHI enough for everything they did to help make it so special.

Incredible! Hands down, absolutely outstanding. We really wanted a small, intimate venue, and this was beyond perfect. At first, we attempted to plan a DIY wedding, but after realizing how many different contacts and logistics that required, we quickly realized—absolutely not. Then, somehow, we found this amazing venue right outside of Shenandoah and immediately fell in love.

We ended up having 63 guests, and everyone had a fantastic time. Heather and Mo know everything—they anticipate and solve issues before they even arise. Their vendor contacts are phenomenal: the cake, the florals, and all of their staff were wonderful.

Heather’s photography was breathtaking. Our photoshoot in Shenandoah was pure magic, and she made everyone feel so comfortable in front of the camera. One of my bridesmaids even kept saying how much she wished Heather had photographed her wedding!

The dancing at the end was such a blast, and the entire day just flew by. Mo was constantly checking in, and all of our guests loved her—she somehow knew so many of them by name, which blew me away. Everything was seamless from start to finish.

I highly, highly recommend this venue to anyone. It truly was the most perfect day!

My wife and I got married here on October 12, 2025, and there truly aren’t enough words to describe how perfect our day was. Mo and Heather are two of the most professional, creative, and genuine people we have ever met. From the moment we met them, we knew this was the right venue for us.

They were incredibly responsive and communicative and made every step of the process feel effortless. Both are so personable and easy to talk to, and they instantly made us feel at home.

As our photographer, Heather went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and made us feel amazing during our mountaintop photoshoot. Mo handled so many details behind the scenes and was wonderful as our officiant. Her calm and experienced presence helped ease any stress and made the entire day flow seamlessly.

After many weeks of trying to find an intimate venue and being overwhelmed with everything that comes along with traditional wedding planning, my husband and I found the Golden Horseshoe Inn. The all inclusiveness of it, from cake to flowers to photography to food to planning and officiant, truly is one of a kind and we felt the stress of wedding planning just melt away. Immediately after touring the venue with Heather, like, still in the parking lot, we agreed GHI was everything we were looking for and more. Once we reserved our date, we made the trip out to meet with Heather and Mo and plan out the finer details. They truly are the perfect team and were incredibly accommodating with fulfilling our wedding day requests and provided great feedback for us on our ideas, both in person that day and through email leading up to the wedding. The day of the wedding, the entire GHI team made us feel so loved and we felt so taken care of. It truly was stress free and felt like we were at home. Heather and her second shooters' photography is truly incredible, and they made us feel comfortable in front of the camera, and Mo provided a sense of calm and ease throughout the whole day. We'll look back on and cherish our wedding forever, and are so grateful to all of the GHI team for making our day so incredibly special.
