August Veils has been a constant in the Portland bridal industry for many years. Founded in 1999 by Andrea, August Veils has helped many brides complete their wedding day look with the one thing that changes the feel of an elegant gown into a wedding gown… a veil. With so many trends over the years, August Veils has kept up with the needs and desires of Pacific Northwest brides, helping to create both modern and timeless custom pieces to suit each brides’ personality and style.

At August Veils we specialize not only in creating new veils and headpieces, but also in updating a treasured heirloom and giving it new life, while maintaining the history and connection that each item carries. August Veils has seen everything from a 100 year old gown being turned into a veil, to using pieces of a 1980’s headpiece as hair pins to compliment a more boho style, to simply placing heirloom lace on a new veil. There are so many amazing ways to bring that connection into a current wedding day, and keep those loved ones close.

Current owner and lead designer, Bethany, has been in the bridal industry since 2010. Starting out as a bridal stylist at a local salon, she fell in love with the magic of weddings, and how the right accessory can complete a bridal style. She began working for Andrea in 2017 and learned all she could about creating beautiful veils and headpieces to complete any bride’s look. When Andrea decided to retire in 2021, Bethany was honored to take over August Veils and to continue her legacy.
