Milanoo organza mermaid wedding dress ordered! How nervous should I be?
I ordered this dress in pink from Milanoo.com, and it's due to arrive in mid March. Of course, I know I might get an absolute monstrosity, but I'm really hoping I'll get something that can be tuned up with a little tailoring and work just fine for my May wedding in Vegas.

I've seen some discussion on Milanoo dresses on various wedding discussion boards, but I feel like people would be more likely to post if something horrifying happened, right? I mean, if you get a really nice dress for under $200 from a Chinese mail order site, maybe you just keep that quiet? If anyone has real pictures of the dress they received, or any advice on how nervous I should be, I would appreciate it. I was really disappointed in how few pictures of real Milanoo dresses I could find online, and rest assured, I will be posting mine, however it turns out!

Drew, I bought my dress from a Chinese website and and was very disappointed.
I couldn't afford serious alterations at the time, so i did what I could myself. End result - I still have dress regrets and it's been almost 5 months since the wedding. :(

The dress will not arrive exactly like it's pictured. BUT as long as you find a tailor/seamstress that knows what they're doing you should be fine.

I wish you the best of luck! Please share pics with us when you get it. :)

Drew, are you going with this dress or the DB Vera Wang dress that you posted about?

I sent back the DB dress, just not "it", you know? My plan is to wait for the Milanoo dress to show up and assess it, and if it's hopeless, by then more light colored dresses will be out in stores. Nordstroms has some awesome bridesmaids dresses but all in black and deep purple right now. I figure they'll have other colors for spring.

OH! Just so you know... even if you don't like the dress, you're most likely stuck with it. :(
I paid $149 for mine. The reciept that came with dress said "Gift. Valued at $74" !!! very shady. I knew right then and there to not even bother trying to return it.
Maybe your place is different (hopefully!) My was from TBDress.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Generally the WeddingWire forums are against them, but if you read WeddingBee, some girls have had a lot of luck with them. It's not something I would choose to do, more so because I don't like to buy any sort of clothing online. But it's a crapshoot.

All good to know, HisMrs! That is extra shady. I did make a good decision and pay through Paypal, so I figure at least I have a record of the transaction and all. I think I was just looking for a way to stop myself from dress shopping until spring colors came out! It was getting too frustrating.

Thank you, Hayley C! I found all of those - don't you think it's strange that out of thousands of dresses the company must sell, so few people want to post pictures? Maybe Milanoo pays them off to take down bad reviews. . . Either way, it will be good to see what shows up. A learning experience for us all - with pictures!

While I don't know about milanoo specifically, I've seen quite a few brides post happy about their chinese knock off dresses. With that said, I've always looked at the pictures and thought the dresses looked extremely low quality. So I guess it all depends on someone's own expectations and standards.

I hope you get a dress that you are pleased with though that at the very least be salvaged by a talented seamstress.

All I can say is the reviews I have seen that are positive, seem completely fake to me- even on WW, all the good reviews are from foreign names that have no other reviews and are in broken english. The ones with 0.0 rating are legit brides. And all of them mention the inability to return, so I hope you didnt spend too much money on it. I also wouldnt count on getting that dress in the picture. It will be their version of it...

I agree with MrsO... but I never want to post on those discussions because I don't want to hurt the feelings of the bride that is happy with her dress.

Again, wishing you the best of luck and Please come back with pictures...good or bad.

Ask for update pictures and you need to confirm the final picture before the dress is sent to you.

Also, ask to see the dress on a model, correctly sized form, and with a tape measurer

Also, ask to see up close pictures of detail in order to make sure the sewing is correct.

Here is a huge thread of people talking about the dresses they bought (with pics)

This thread has some pretty good tips as well as some pictures

Good luck!

My FSIL ordered her prom dress from Milanoo and loved it! Her dress was a dime a dozen, short, had ruffles, sequins, the works!

I can tell you that it the reason it said $74 and a gift or used clothing is because of customs. This way you don't have to pay duty on the item.
I can also tell you if a dress comes in in March I will be shocked. My neice ordered a dress from one of these sites. 4 months later she had a very pretty dress but it got there 2 weeks before the wedding. Not the two weeks they promised when she ordered it or when she called back over and over again. Good Luck.

I wish I had started posting on here sooner, you guys are amazingly detailed! I usually don't throw this out there, but I'm an attorney, so I'm not really worried about being able to get a refund if I need to, or buying another dress if I need to. As my daddy always said, one of the best things about being a lawyer is you'll never let anyone mess with you ever again! Bring it, Milanoo!

No offense, but I'm sure they've dealt with attorneys before. I wouldn't rely on that. It would be more costly than a couple hundred dollar refund to somehow sue a foreign company.

I love some items on Milanoo but have never ordered from there, probably never will.

I was considering Light in the Box for my daughter's Jr. BM dress. I ordered two swatches in chiffon to see the colors but the fabric is pretty cheap so I decided against it.
