English net veils: pros/cons?

Hi all,

I still have not chosen a veil. I keep going back and forth about what I want: lace or no lace? Cathedral or waist-length? English net or bridal illusion?
In particular, I am wondering if anyone has experience with the pros and cons of English netting. My understanding is that it drapier and more opaque. I’m having a hard time imagining what this would look like with my dress, but I like the idea of a more opaque veil in theory.
I am especially wondering if it makes a difference for hairstyles? As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, I have quite thin and fine hair, and I plan to use extensions and everything but I’m wondering if English net is a heavier fabric that will squash my hairdo or make the veil more likely to come loose.

Yes, you're right, English netting is much softer and drapes a lot more, but I don't think it's the most opaque.

Are you able to go into a store and feel the fabrics and see what you like, before buying online? I'd maybe see if you can do that, to get a good idea!

Thanks! Yeah, I think I have a basic understanding of the types of tulle— I’ve watched a lot of videos and read a lot of articles looking for the answers to my question. But what I’m really interested in are pros and cons that brides experienced in real practice: if you wore or tried on an English net veil, what went wrong? What did you love about it? And did it squash your hair?
