What Do Your Flower Girl / Ring Bearer Outfits Look Like?

Lisa, on December 21, 2021 at 10:46 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 38
In need of inspiration!! What outfits are your flower girls and ring bearers wearing for your wedding? Are you incorporating your wedding colors into the outfits? Will they match the bridesmaids or groomsmen? What outfits did you choose for your flower girls and ring bearers?

We didn’t have have a ring bearer, and our flower girl matched my bridesmaids. The bridesmaids wore separates — navy tops of their choosing and matching floral maxi skirts — and I was able to have a family friend make a dress for my flower girl out of the same material as the bridesmaids’ skirts

Are those flowers on the bottom of the dress? Super pretty! The ring bearer outfits sound great as well, I like the mix of casual with dressy!

I really like that you matched the flower girl dress with the bridesmaids skirts! That's such a fun idea!

Our wedding colour scheme was shades of blush but I wanted traditional outfits for the littles in our bridal party so we had our page boy wear a matching tux to my (now) husband and his best man, and our flower girls were in big boofy dresses which they adored.

Forgive the poor photos, we don't have our photos back which show them all dressed up so these are some outtakes I took:

These outfits are super cute!! I especially love the dresses with the design at the very bottom. Did you have any of the kids or their parents help you pick the outfits out? Or did you choose everything for them? I'm truthfully not sure what's typically done, whether the flower girls/ring bearers or their parents help choose the attire or not. Do you have any insight on this?

Argh, my heart! These littles look so cute!

So I was browsing weddings the other day and spied these little cuties from Celia McCorquodale's wedding...

I think they're little pilot outfits! So, your little ring bearers could have outfits that fit in with some kind of family profession, if relevant! I'd not seen that before and thought it was super cute.

Our ring bearer had a smaller version of my husband's suit. His aunt and I went shopping for dresses for the flower girl and found one that was the same color and look as my dress (which was a shock cause we got my dress from a boutique and Jorie's dress from David's Bridal).

For our wedding, I picked out our gowns but I did have both parents involved in the process - one flowergirl and her mum (also my bridesmaid) came shopping with me, and the other flower girl I sent photos of the dresses to her mum (they are a 5 hour drive away) so that we could all discuss them as I personally wanted to make sure they were all ok with the dresses we chose, though we were all in agreeance with which dresses to pick anyway.

I do think though that the above approach is optional (but appreciated) - my sister was a flower girl a few times and I can remember that every time we'd simply be given a dress in her size and that was it.

I was told that the flower girls should more closely match the bride, as they come out right before she does, rather than the bridesmaids. My dress was ivory, and the bridesmaids' dresses were navy blue. Therefore, my nieces wore knee-length ivory dresses with a navy blue sash/bow. The ring bearers were the sons of our groomsmen. They wore white shirts, black pants and suspenders, and navy blue bowties. The groomsmen wore navy blue vests and charcoal gray tuxedos.

Oh my gosh, the pilots outfits are super cute!! I've never seen that before. I love the idea of incorporating a family profession into the attire/details. Neither of our families have a specific profession (we're all in totally different fields lol), so I don't think we could apply it to our wedding, but I'd totally love to see how it turns out for anyone who does incorporate this!

Oh wow, her dress definitely looks just like yours!! Great find! I also like the idea of matching the ring bearer's suit to the groom's suit.

I know... same for us - accountants and other professional office staff don't really have a uniform, haha! But I did think it was cute.

Your flower girl dresses are beautiful. If you don't mind me asking where did you get them. I've been looking for something like those. (Flower girl dresses with a train.)

It worked out perfectly! It was the last dress she tried on and each one she came out saying "I like this one more". She even said it on the first dress! Smiley xd

Good to know! I would definitely include the parents in choosing the dress, I just wasn't sure whether they pick out the dress and show me which one they choose, or if I should be the one to make the final choice. I like the idea of getting everyone in agreement on the outfits. Thank you for your input on this, this is helpful!

I like that you had the flower girl dresses matching your dress, but still tying in the color of the bridesmaids dresses through the ribbon! That is a super cute idea. I also like how the ring bearers had slightly different outfits than the groomsmen, though still the same color scheme. I feel like the ring bearer outfits will be more difficult for me to decide on than the flower girl dresses lol, but I'm starting to get some inspiration from the ideas everyone has shared so far. Thank you for your help!
