We had a wonderful experience working with Catering Works for our wedding at the North Carolina Museum of Art! They are the in-house caterers for the museum, as well as the venue coordinator, and they clearly had so much experience and wisdom hosting weddings. Their open house events were really helpful for trying many different food options. We were really particular about the food and event layout, but also worried about cost. We worked with Hollie for our menu selections, and she was so patient with us making many many alterations and comparing the pricing of different meal plans. We ended up serving short ribs and salmon, and they were both delicious! Julie worked with us and our coordinator through so many different layout options. The museum was an absolutely beautiful space for our wedding, and Catering Works did a fantastic job on the food and venue coordination!

I cannot say enough amazing things about Catering Works!!! We had the absolute pleasure of working with their team for our 2025 November wedding and every little detail was immaculate.

We had originally hired them for our wedding when we were getting married at a venue in Raleigh, which ended up closing shortly after our booking, but Catering Works did not hesitate to ensure they were still part of our day even through the transition of booking a new venue. And although a lot of the preparation stations were different from our original venue to the new venue, they stepped up to ensure we still had a 5 star experience for us and our guests, making it work no matter where our big day was taking place. Their ability to pivot with us and still provide support throughout was so appreciated.

As for the staff itself, we worked with Nicole, who ensured every detail from the bar needs to appetizers, small plates, late night snacks, desserts, and the main course were thoroughly thought through from start to finish. Even after hundreds of emails back and forth and phone calls, she was incredibly kind and gracious throughout answering every small question with enthusiasm.

We not only enjoyed the amazing food, but the staff as well. They were an incredibly kind group and made everyone feel welcome and acknowledged throughout cocktail hour and the reception.

We cannot recommend Catering Works enough to any future brides/grooms as well as any other major life events where amazing food is a necessity!

Kelli was our point of contact from the beginning and we really enjoyed working with her and valued her assistance. She was personable, professional, timely with her email responsiveness, and knowledgable. She was really helpful with creating our menu during the tasting. They had lots of options for serving trays and display trays for our dessert table that allowed us to customize it to fit our decor. They set up the dessert table display without needing guidance from us and matched the aesthetic perfectly!

We chose to do passed hors d'oeuvres and a buffet style dinner. They made sure to have the hors d'oeuvres pulled aside for my husband and I to have during cocktail hour. They were incredibly accommodating to our guests who had dietary restrictions as well. The food was incredible and we got nothing but rave reviews from all of our guests. The staff onsite on the wedding day was very attentive, not only to us, but to all of our guests. They were continuously refilling drinks for everyone and made sure service ran smoothly. Staff was also efficient at the end of the night with clearing all the rental items and decor.

Okay, so it's been four whole years since our wedding, but honestly, the memories of the food and service are still crystal clear – and still make our mouths water! We seriously hit the jackpot with Catering Works. They absolutely crushed it and made our big day even more perfect.

Let's talk about the food first – it was beyond perfect. We had 4 passed horderves during cocktail hour, all delicious, especially the duck corn cake. A server came out to us and our bridal party with a tray for us to nibble (plus our signature cocktails) while we took photos, which was truly appreciated because we never had time to eat until then.

Each dinner dish/side was a winner. Like, truly restaurant-quality. Being a Maryland girl, I'm always hypercritical of crab cakes outside of Maryland 😂, but I was truly impressed that I could have a high quality crab cake away from my roots on my wedding day. Our guests still bring up how amazing the meal was, and honestly, so do we! It wasn't just "wedding food," that has become typical at weddings.

Desserts and cake? Oh. My. Goodness. They looked incredible, but tasted even better! We had a two tier cake and a mini dessert bar so we could have a variety. We had gluten free chocolate cookies (my favorite), fruit tarts, macarons, caramel bites, strawberry shortcake (husband’s favorite); seriously, all the sweets were absolutely top notch.

Beyond the deliciousness, the service was just phenomenal. The team was super professional, always there when you needed them, and genuinely nice. They built a plate for us so we could mingle with our guests and came back to a much needed meal. They handled everything so smoothly with my dad's alpha gal allergy and we didn't have to lift a finger. That meant we could actually relax and soak up every moment of our wedding day, which was priceless.

The most meaningful part was the end of the night before we left our venue (The Meadows at Firefly Farm, highly recommend 😍) was the gift basket we were given full of a variety of desserts from our dessert bar, and slices of our wedding cake because we never had time to eat dessert AND a bottle of champagne. Talk about a personal touch, we were so impressed and felt truly cared for.

It's pretty rare for something to leave such a strong, memorable mark after so long, but our caterer totally did. We still rave about them. If you're planning a wedding and want food that'll be talked about for years, desserts that are divine, and service that's absolutely flawless, Catering Works is where it's at. They made our wedding day foodie dreams perfect, and we're forever grateful!

When starting the planning process, I knew that quality catering was high on my list of priorities. From the beginning, Kelli was amazing to work with. We had an in depth meeting to discuss our event, our needs, our "must haves", any concerns we had etc. This in depth and thorough communication continued throughout our whole process.
We had an amazing food tasting where the staff presented options that were outside of what we thought we wanted and we ended up loving some of the options presented!
Kelli was methodical when documenting small tweaks to their standard recipes, was open to feedback, was willing to discuss any ideas we went to her with.
The day of our wedding, the staff that was at the event was amazing. Every single one of them were professional, responsive, and very friendly. Our food was better than we could have imagined - great portion sizes, hot upon arrival, and beautifully plated. We also had a pastry chef for our cupcake bar and that was a hit with our guests!
Overall, great experience with everyone at Catering Works. In the wedding planning process where every decision feels like the biggest decision, make this decision easy and have Catering Works at your wedding.

One of the best decisions we made for our wedding was hiring Catering Works. From beginning to end, the process was seamless, the staff were positive and enjoyable to work with, and the food was phenomenal. We reached out about a year ahead of our wedding and worked with Kelly the whole way. We were planning our wedding from NYC, so we had to coordinate trips for tastings. When the weather was not in our favor and our flights were cancelled, Catering Works made it easy to reschedule and find new times to do our tastings. They even made sure my dad could pick up our first tasting to go when our second trip was delayed.

When it came time for our tasting, we thoroughly enjoyed everything and had very little notes. Their chefs are fantastic! Catering Works handled all the food and drinks for our wedding including an open bar, cocktail hour, dinner, cake, other desserts, and late night food. We added the late night food two weeks ahead of the event and there was no issue with the late addition. It was easy to customize everything to our liking and pricing was transparent.

The night of the wedding, everything was seamless. The food was fantastic. Our guests were raving about the food for weeks after our wedding. We had an outdoor cocktail hour and dinner. The staff passed out food during the cocktail hour while my husband and I finished out pictures. When we finally got to sit down at our table, they brought us plates of all the appetizers and saved extras in case we wanted more. Dinner was served right on time and all our guests dietary restrictions were met with ease. We received rave reviews from the vegan options that were made available to those who needed them. Staff even made sure to take special care of our guests who were fasting for religious reasons during cocktail hour and prioritized getting their dinner to them promptly.

The bars were open all night and the bartenders also received rave reviews from our guests. Drinks were made quickly and guests were never thirsty. There were also staff dedicated to my husband and I to make sure our needs were met and we never waited in line. We were even able to point out VIP guests (i.e. our parents) who should also receive extra special treatment to avoid lines and access the highest quality liquor (we were able to customize exactly the amount of and type of liquor we wanted to offer).

The cake was DELICIOUS! We had a small round cutting cake for photos and a large flat sheet cake that they cut in the back before serving to guests. It was significantly more cost effective to purchase the cake this way instead of ordering a huge round cake for 200 guests. Catering Works worked with us without issue to make sure we got the cake we wanted for the guests we had without breaking the bank.

The late night food was a huge hit and a surprise for our guests. The photos we have of guests ravaging the french fry bar are some of our favorites. My husband and I missed the late night food and Catering Works made sure to send us home with a plate of everything we missed. I still dream about the apple pie and the chicken and waffle bites.

I would 1000% recommend Catering Works for your event. The staff are amazing, the food is phenomenal, and the service from planning to the end of your event is top tier.

We absolutely loved working with Kayla at Catering Works for our July 2023 wedding! She was so responsive to all of our questions. She was so flexible with everything. We wanted a salmon entree for our buffet that was originally on the plated option menu, and Kayla happily made it work for our buffet. I still dream about that salmon - it was so good! Our guests raved about all of the delicious food. We even got boxes of food for us to take home after the wedding. We were happily eating our leftover catering for a couple of days after our wedding. We highly recommend Catering Works!!

We worked with Catering Works for our wedding and would highly recommend them to other couples! We worked with Hollie throughout the process - she was so kind, flexible, and patient when I had a million questions. With a guest count of around 135 and a plan to serve a seated plated meal, we were understandably a little nervous about the amount of time there may be between tables being served and the temperature and quality of the food for that big of an event. We were nervous about nothing! All of the food choices we served turned out amazing on the day of and we had guests tell us it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding! The servers were attentive and nice. We also booked a bar package with Catering Works for our wedding - would highly recommend this as well. Took the worry out of providing our own alcohol. Catering Works offered good choices for their bar packages and there was no worry of running out of anything! One of the best decisions we made for our wedding day.

you know what is usually the worst part of weddings? The food is mediocre and the lines for the bar are too long. I did NOT want that for my special day. Catering Works slammed that goal. The food was amazing, The service was out of this world, and there was never a wait at the Bar. People were following me around making sure I had food and drink the entire time. People are STILL talking about how good the food was. HIGHLY recommend the dim sum station!
