Oscar and S1 Photography were recommended to us by our wedding planner. Within 10 minutes of meeting him and seeing his photos, we knew he was the photographer we wanted. Oscar went above and beyond the call of duty. He and his assistant took fun, creative and innovative photographs that have garnered "ooh's and ahh's" from anyone that's seen them. If you are lucky enough to book Oscar for your wedding, your wedding day will be captured in a way you never imagined possible. When Oscar explained to us his approach to photography, he told us his main goal was to memorialize who we were as a couple and tell our story from start to finish. We never imagined that with every photograph he took, he had in mind how that moment would enhance his "narrative" of our day. Without anyone noticing, Oscar observed the relationships between us, our family, friends and guests, in order to capture the most expressive (and always genuine) moments of our interactions and the interactions of those for whom we care so much. He would even anticipate when jokes were going to be told in order to capture the reactions of those in the conversation. Most impressively, he did all of this without inserting himself into the event and making himself constantly known.

Furthermore, Oscar is a true artist. He has an eye that sets him apart from most other photographers and is incredibly tasteful and skilled at editing and enhancing the photographs on the post-production side. We were truly amazed, as was everyone else who viewed the gallery, at the quality of the images and the care that went into the selection and editing process.

Finally, Oscar sincerely cares about his clients. He won't ever overbook in order to give the individual attention he believes every client should have. He went above and beyond for us, even arriving a little early to capture additional moments of our preparation at the hotel when we had not booked that time with him. Furthermore, he goes so far as to invite you to his home studio once he has finalized the images in order to show you the photographs in a carefully thought out presentation.

We really can't thank Oscar (and his assistant Golda) enough and we look forward to booking with Oscar again!

It's been such a wonderful experience working with Oscar of S1 Weddings...before, during and after our wedding day.

During our early planning with Oscar, we felt right away that he was would be fun to work with: He has a wonderful energy and positive attitude...and moreover, Oscar had the knowledge & experience to help us select the right venues in Chicago to take pictures with our guests.

During our wedding day itself, he (and his assistant Golda) were also very professional and courteous in working with our guests...we had ALL our guests (around 50) go with us for our picture shoots just before our cocktail hour, and Oscar was able to capture all the best images, ensure that we stayed on schedule and also keep it fun & lively. During the ceremony and reception, even though we barely noticed Oscar in the room, he was able to truly capture the story and emotion of our day. He has the talent and the photo journalistic eye to capture each scene in such a way that we can vividly re-live the feelings of that moment.

After our wedding day, he provided us with great communication & follow up...He promptly provided previews on our Facebook page, and within a few weeks, he invited us over to his home studio to view all the pictures of the day. Also, we liked that the packages he offered were very simple & un-complicated, and he gave us great guidance to select the right package for us. Later on, we particularly appreciated that Oscar even hand delivered copies of our picture DVD to our home so that we could share them with our families for an upcoming trip. Our families were amazed with the photos!
