  My husband & I got married at Georgiana’s home on St. Patrick’s Day in 1998, 20 years ago this week. We found her on a list of Fairfax County officiants, and were so lucky we did! We already had a big wedding planned in May, but needed to have it be official earlier for the VA mortgage on a new home. It was a last minute ceremony, just us and Georgiana, but it couldn’t have been more personal & perfect. It was very emotional and she made it a beautiful private celebration.

  20 years ago this Valentine's Day 2018 - Georgiana married us in a private ceremony then repeated the ceremony that May for family & friends. She was warm & friendly throughout the process - putting us at ease within minutes of meeting her. The 2nd ceremony she added readings and 'more' to the ceremony - giving us & our friends a movingly romantic experience. I googled her today after going through our scrapbook & was thrilled to find she's still sharing her special mix of care and speech to marry others. My husband & I are happily married these past 20 years - raised two children who are also happily married - and in general have relished our life together. Best Wishes to you Georgiana! L&L

  Georgiana was super accommodating to us. She adjusted based on our needs and was super easy going about it. Our wedding couldn't have been more beautiful and perfect. The ceremony was super special, memorable and personal. She took her time and offered for us to use her beautiful deck right on the lake since it was just us and our friend at the ceremony. We absolutely loved working with Georgiana. She is beautiful inside and out. You will NOT be disappointed using her. She will make your day more beautiful than you could have ever expected and stress free (at least the ceremony part :)). Thank you Georgiana!!!!

  We were married 19 years ago today below the overlook at Great Falls Park, VA. Neither of us knew exactly how meaningful the day was, being young and impulsive. Georgiana added the necessary ingredients to make it a memorable experience, and she must have worked the right kind of magic, because we are still happily married 19 years later.

  This couple had imagination And organization! (That usually doesn't happen together! ;) The setting: A walk along a nature path to an intimate space amongst the trees. How lucky we were on the weather...which was sublime. (So nice in fact, I forgot to regale them with how I had to stop and wait for a looong black snake to slid across the walkway in front of me. I was sorry not to have my camera.) Let's not forget the families and friends. They were superb in enthusiasm and happiness in being there.

  Ms. Georgiana was very helpful from beginning, answered kindly every question, help us to choose perfect place for us and made our wedding ceremony very lovely and unique. My mother-in-law was born in Thailand and my parents are from Slovakia, so as a surprise for all of us, she included parts of ceremony in both languages as well! It was unforgettable and everybody loved it!

  The reviews of Georgiana are accurate! She was early, organized and without any direction adding in special elements like having our family read a poem to make the ceremony so special. We would highly recommend her.

  Georgiana was everything we hoped for in a wedding officiant. She was kind, inquisitive and inclusive. She wanted to know us before she married us. She asked us to contribute to our ceremony but she also surprised us with some unexpected elements. She absolutely made our special day magical. We cannot recommend her highly enough to anyone considering an officiant in the greater Fairfax/DC metro area. She has over 23 years of wedding and marriage experience under her belt and she made our little ceremony at the campus park pond incredibly memorable.

  We had a small ceremony at Mrs. Havill's house. When she heard that we are going to celebrate later, she was so kind to offer her home with the lake for our important day. She was so prepared, cared about every single details, cared to know both my husband and I prior to the ceremony. She included my family and my husband's best friend to participate in our little ceremony. Not only that, she had great passages written and ready in Farsi and English. My mom who does not speak English was able to be part of the ceremony and read few lines in Farsi. She just made this soooo memorable for us, couldn't ask for more. Even if I had a bigger ceremony, the location and they way she handled everything would be my ideal way. I really couldn't believe all the work she put in and made such a small ceremony to a super special one for both of us. We were so lucky to have her. It is very clear that she does this with passion and she is truly enjoys and care. There is NO price for what she did for us yesterday and how she did it.   I initially found Georgiana's name on the list of court approved celebrants for Fairfax County, VA. I contacted her on a Thursday about performing a short notice civil ceremony for my Fiancé and I. We were able to book her for that Saturday (!!!). Georgiana turned what I had expected to be a quick business transaction (so to speak) into a beautiful and memorable experience. I was especially impressed with her ability to adapt to our interesting situation, as this was a pop-up ceremony with very little planned on our part. Georgiana made everything so easy. She took the time to get to know us before hand and then conducted a ceremony that seemed to be tailored to us perfectly. It was more than I could have asked for and I will remember it for the rest of my life. We had planned on holding a more traditional wedding at a later date, but I'm not sure that's necessary anymore. Our civil ceremony by Georgiana was perfect.

  Georgiana was a true blessing! I cannot express enough what a wonderful experience we had. She took her time to explain everything to us, spent time with our mothers and grandmother (even involved them in the ceremony), picked poems that related to us and the list continues. Georgiana truly made our experience flawless, meaningful and incredibly comfortable. I was hesitant and nervous but as soon as we met her and spent time talking, I felt that it was meant to be and she was the exact person to marry us. I am still beaming from our experience and can see Georgiana being someone I'd like to stay in touch with for years to come.   My daughter recommended Georgiana Atkins Havill because she lives in the same neighborhood as her and would frequently see Mrs. Havill performing weddings in her backyard. My daughter volunteered her own backyard for our wedding because we needed a larger area as I have a large family.
  Georgiana was most agreeable and even in the 95+ degree heat maintained her lovely happy disposition.
  She made our ceremony so personal and intimate and chose perfect words, like she had known us for years.
  If you are looking for an officiant and live in the Reston, Va area, Georgiana Atkins Havill is the person to contact. You will be very happy with your ceremony.

  This couple (the bride is the mother of a neighbor) was so comfortable--as they say--in their own skin. What a great, inspiring family dynamic. (Sometimes, after meeting a couple's relatives, I want to adopt myself into their vibrant families.) She even proposed using her own house if the weather turns ugly. On the big day, she arrived a bit early and allowed us all the time we needed to wait for our photographer who never showed up. Once things got going, she was just delightful and made us and our few guests feel very special. She never rushed us and even stayed long enough to help with the picture taking! We never imagined our wedding to be so much fun, but that's exactly what Georgiana did. Thank you!

  This couple's chosen setting of a local park--after hours--reflected their own personal values of appropriateness and originality. Since the picturesque mill was near my once-beloved home in Great Falls, it was a perfect grounding for me too. Yes, my positive feelings definitely affect the "job" I do.   This beautiful couple did everything right for their wedding day, starting with the setting: The open atrium of a hotel which was infused with light. I watched the guests arrive, and they even fueled my own high enthusiasm, as they were gracious and excited and obviously they were contagiously pleased about their bride and groom.

  Georgiana was absolutely amazing, me and my husband highly recommend her! Georgiana's love and enthusiasm for what she does really shows throughout the whole ceremony, Although It was only the three of us at our ceremony I will forever cherish such a special day.

  Liliana could give lessons on how to ensure the perfect memory! The "three" of us had a beautiful time in my lakefront home. She treated their ceremony as one of life's significant memories--which it IS! They were dressed for the occasion and his boutonniere matched her bouquet. They will love seeing those pictures again and again over the years to come and showing them to others. Wonderful times are few enough in life, and when one can affect how grand even an intimate event might be, then run with that inspiration and knowledge :)

  Georgiana was wonderful from the moment I talk to her on the phone. She kept our conversations light and fun. I often felt relaxed and excited once more for my wedding day after speaking with her. Whenever I had questions, she was just an email away! She walked us through exactly what we had to do a few days before the wedding and taught us so much we were able to lead our rehearsal. She made sure as soon as she was on site the day of our wedding that she found someone to let me know so I didn't get stressed out. She made are ceremony so personal and really got into our Halloween theme. I would definitely recommend her to everyone I know, and everyone I don't know!

  Of course Amanda had a head start on my growing affection for her big day, because she and our daughter have the same name! Indeed, the more interaction I have via phone and email with a couple (and receiving their answers to my "famous, fun homework") fuels my eagerness to do the very best possible ceremony for them.) And the trust is built both ways. Her announced Halloween theme worried me a little--but they carried it off! Lighthearted spirit prevailed among their families and friends and the mood was contagious. I loved their families and their over-the-top happiness :)
