We really enjoyed having Michael as our officiant. We wanted something simple, yet unique, and we didn’t really know where to start. He offers fully customized ceremonies, but for my husband and me, his simple ceremony options were perfect. We were able to insert verses and poetry that had meaning to us, and we knew that everything would still flow nicely. Michael was very easy to work with and we’d recommend him to anyone looking for an officiant.

We wanted a secular handfasting, Michael has experience in this and provided templates for various ceremonies so we could create one uniquely ours. After the ceremony we even had guests asking for his info so they can use him in the future. He’s worth hiring!

Michael Rye was the most perfect officiant! He is incredibly friendly, personable, and made everyone feel so comfortable! Many of our guests even thought he was a family friend. His amazing Australian accent adds such a unique and memorable touch, elevating the entire ceremony. Michael was SO wonderful to work with. TL;DR: He is professional, willing to customize his style to fit yours, very fairly priced and all around just an incredible human being.

He initially sent some examples of simple ceremonies after our initial meeting and then allowed me to create a custom ceremony using bits and pieces from those existing scripts. On the day of our wedding, he showed up right on time and even gave me some great advice and tips before we walked out to start the ceremony based on all of his experience.

At the start of our ceremony, he quipped a funny remark to get us to hold hands, which was awesome, because I hadn't thought about that and after handing my bouquet to my MOH, I suddenly had a Ricky Bobby moment of "I'm not sure what to do with my hands right now." So that was very appreciated. He stuck very closely to the script, only ad-libbing a few funny comments here and there after confirming with us first that it would be okay, and knowing we are 'keep a sense of humor in all things' people.

At the end of the ceremony and right after he said you may kiss the bride, he stepped out of the way immediately so we could have some photos of just us with our alter and scenery, which was so thoughtful. Speaking of thoughtful, I had handed him my vows book after we read them during the ceremony, then I forgot about it, and he was kind enough to mail it to me a few weeks later.

You can't go wrong with Michael. If you're looking for professionalism, flexibility, reliability, and someone who will make sure the ceremony is everything you dreamed of, he's your guy, look no further. 10/10!
