If you are looking for a DJ, you've found him. Akhil was a joy to work with and made me feel confident from the beginning that our reception would be a blast and it was just that. Everyone danced including my dad which is virtually a miracle. Akhil based his song list from a list I gave him and kept us dancing the entire time. There was not a dull moment! He is able to gauge his crowd and pick songs that kept the energy up. So many of my favorite memories happened on the dance floor and I have Akhil to thank for his great DJ skills and vast knowledge of music.

Akhil was the DJ at our wedding reception in June. He was very professional, flexible and great to work with! He helped us with the timeline of events for our reception and suggested ideas that my husband and I had never thought about. He played really great music that everyone from all ages enjoyed dancing to. We requested specific songs to be played (and songs that we didn't want played) and Akhil honored our requests.

DJ Akhil was a true gem of a find and I cannot recommend him highly enough. After meeting with several other DJs who were pushy and aggressive, Akhil's calm demeanor was a breath of fresh air! As a recent newlywed himself, he completely understands the pressures that a bride is under while she plans. As we prepared for our wedding, Akhil made us feel so confident in his abilities to read our crowd and select the right mix of music for our wedding, but he also let us know that we could take on as little or as much control as we'd like (we chose to leave matters to his expertise). He is highly organized and a true pleasure to work with. On the night of our reception, he was a DREAM. The dance floor was full the entire night and he even worked in a special request to play some cultural music for my husband's Portuguese family. To better exhibit his amazing level of service, when a bridesmaid requested a song that he didn't have in his catalog, he downloaded it on the spot and had it spinning within minutes. I am confident that Akhil is the very best DJ in the DC area! He will make your party an amazing success so that you can truly relax and be a "guest" at your own event.

Dynamo Entertainment provided exceptional service as the entertainment during our wedding reception! Akhil and Merideth were our amazing DJs and everyone raved about how great they were! The dance was packed the entire night - with both the young and the old - thanks to the song selections they made! They seemed to have a sixth sense in determining what song to play next to keep the party going.

Leading up to the wedding, they were great to work with and very flexible on meeting us to go over the schedule for the night. They offered great song suggestions where we failed to come up with songs of our own, and they took to heart any special requests we had (i.e. no chicken dance!). They were also great at working with our coordinator and making sure we followed our schedule for the evening, since it's very easy to lose track of time at your wedding!

Akhil was wonderful!! He was great prior to the wedding with planning, he was willing to deal with the stringent requirements my venue had, he was completely flexible and wonderful. I highly recommend Akhil as a wedding DJ. The crowd loved the music he played and I was thrilled.

Akhil was very easy to work with and helped to make our special day even more special. He worked with us to create the play lists and the time line for the day of the wedding. He was very flexible before and during the ceremony. We decided to change some things on the fly and he was very quick to react and made it seem like the changes were planned all along.

Akhil was great - used our selections but also added his choices that kept party going. Our guests (and dancers) ranged in age from 2 to 82. Akhil worked the music so people were always on the dance floor. Akhil just knew when to change the pace from fast to slow and back. He cared a lot and wanted to help make the evening special for us. Everyone (even the hotel staff who were seen dancing behind the bar) commented that this was the best wedding reception they ever attended. He has a massive collection and will get what you want in music. He has a very thoughtful set of forms that tell him your story before the wedding. Helps him "know" who the folks are. The wedding was out of town, and he only saw the reception room on the day of the wedding and got his equipment (top flight) in and set up without a hitch. As others have said, Akhil was part of the party and kept things going until the hotel staff finally said we had to shut things down. They gave us about an hour extra because they were having so much fun.

Mr. Ahanda was courteous, sociable, on time and ready to go when we arrived at our reception. He was very knowledgeable, suggesting appropriate music for our age group and venue and courteously following up with us frequently via email, helping us stay on track as we planned our reception. With a wide range of material and state of the art equipment, Mr. Ahanda was able to put together a good program for our reception with special dinner music that supplemented our Celtic wedding theme in addition to keeping the action moving with introductions for the toastmakers, first dance, dancing and after-dancing music to enjoy. He was creative and flexible, pulling up last minute humorous sound bytes we requested to play as the toastmakers took the mics. He also took dance requests from guests. We highly recommend Mr. Akhil Ahanda for your event.

He was great! very upbeat. He really cared about what type of music my husband and I wanted. Really made the day special.

I have used this DJ for several years at an annual July 4th event that I host. He has always been on time, courteous, open for suggestions/requests, offers good ideas to add to the party. Willing to play games with the kids and give out prizes. I am an Event Coordinator and have hired many DJ's for various events and found the most reliable, outgoing, fun DJ in town. I highly recommend him!

Akhil was amazing! From the moment that we met him, I knew that he was our DJ. He was very concerned with our needs and wants. I consider myself very demanding and Akhil followed every one of my "music rules" and didn't try to push anything on us that we didn't want to do. I gave him an extensive song list (we had some very unusual requests) and he came up with all of them! We didn't have to find anything for him. When we were stuck, he came up with suggestions and was never pushy. I can honestly say that the music was the best part of our ceremony and reception. People started dancing early and never stopped. Everyone from the three year old's to the great aunts and uncles were getting their groove on all night. Akhil stayed well past the planned time and didn't try to wind things up to get out of there. He just kept going! He even dressed to match my brides and grooms party! I should also note that my husband is Jewish and I am Christian. Akhil was able to meet our needs and make both families happy. The next day when we were opening gifts, we came across one without a card. It was a disc of all of our wedding songs! We were so suprised and we still listen to it all the time. I recently went to another wedding where Akhil was the DJ that was much more traditional than ours and he nailed that too. Trust me, you will not find a better DJ! Akhil will address all of your needs and he will not try to steer you in a direction that you do not want to go. He is entertaining without making the night about him. We still get compliments on the music at our wedding a year later!

The music was absolutely perfect. There was an ecclectic mix that appealed to all of our guests. The DJ was also very patient with me. I changed the music list up until the wedding and he accomodated me all the way. He was also very flexible during the wedding--we ended up doing the first dance last! All in all, it was a great experience, everyone danced and sang and had a fabulous time! It made my special day perfect--I wouldn't have changed anything and I am so grateful for all they did for me and my husband.

Akhil Handa went above and beyond for our wedding reception. The wedding was located in Ithaca New York, and the reception was only a few miles from there. The Inn was limited on space and we thought that this would present a problem for the DJ equipment. As it turned out, we were worried about nothing. Akhil travelled from the DC area to New York, had the equipment set up and orchestrated the entire reception without a glitch. His professionalism and outgoing personality enabled him to keep the party going late into the night while keeping our guests’ minds off of the fact that the air conditioning wasn’t working. My wife and I had more compliments on the DJ than any other aspect of the wedding. I would highly recommend this DJ for any event!
