I didn’t mean to be a photographer. I didn’t even pick up a camera until I was 20. But photography has taken me to 16 countries, allowed me to show my work for 14 consecutive months at 7 venues in Seattle, allowed me to work on numerous fashion shoots (including French and Japan Vogue, and the U.K.’s Pop, Rebel, and Arena), as well as spend a summer in France assisting fine-art photographer Jock Sturges. After managing Jock’s studio for 3 years and assisting two high-end wedding photographers, I started my own business with a solid artistic background and a wealth of world experiences. Since then I’ve found nothing more challenging and simultaneously exhilarating than composing artistic yet natural moments of bliss.
I am a photographer of life. That is, I work with my clients during their most celebrated life experiences. My clients trust me enormously to create emotive and genuine portraits of their most celebrated experiences, the people they love, and the poetry of the joy they share.
Giving back to my community has always been a value of mine. I recently volunteered as a mentor for Youth In Focus, a non-profit that offers photography classes for at-risk youth. With the success of my business, I am thrilled to donate 5% of my annual profit to help support this awesome program. The dynamic students of this program are a constant inspiration for me, and your business helps their lives blossom.
La La Laura is a true artist. She got her start in photojournalism prior to the digital age and she's got awesome style: unique, professional, creative, elegant, laid-back, clever, particular, fashionable, polished, original, ingenious - All words that describe her and her work! One of the best photographers in Seattle, hands down!
You will find Laura an unexpected surprise! She is very professional and calm as she works with you on your wedding day. Then when you get your photos back, you find she caught unexpected moments and made them shine like a magazine shoot. I just met Laura this year, but I expect I will work with her many more times in the years to come and will continue to recommend her talent!

Tips and Advice
The most important thing I tell my couples is to allow time for photography on their wedding day. When you consider all the time you’ve invested in choosing your dress, flowers, the details of your hair, jewelry and shoes… why wouldn’t you want to take time to enjoy your efforts? When you consider the photography portion of your day as an event, much like the ceremony and reception, you will be able to enjoy time alone together as a couple, and you’ll be certain to get the beautiful and romantic images you see in your photographer’s portfolio. I don’t care if Yervant is photographing your wedding or your Uncle Bob, good pictures take some time and you will be forever grateful with the results if you allow a couple hours before your ceremony for great pictures. Your wedding album is the final product that you will love for generations, so it’s absolutely worthwhile to talk to your photographer about how he or she allows time to get fabulous images. Your wedding day is one of the most precious days of your life, and you should consider your photography session as a playful and intimate time together, before you’re surrounded by family and friends and the events of the day quickly unfold. Trust me, you will be thrilled with the results!
