Formosa Weddings

We hired Jonathan for wedding photography, and he was easy to work with and very organized. He visited and researched the venue (Seattle Aquarium) and lighting on his own (no flash by the fish, dark interior), and proactively setup meetings and reminders. We had never hired a photographer for a large event before, and Jonathan explained what shots would work best and timing. Jonathan worked with an associate photographer to shoot the wedding, which went very smoothly, and then Jonathan did the final editing. The photos turned out great and we received them a few weeks after the wedding.

Jonathan was fantastic to work with for the entirety of our wedding weekend. The photos were one of the most important parts of the wedding for us, and even though we had so many iterations of the different group pictures that we wanted to take, Jonathan was extremely patient with all of us and captured every picture that we wanted and then some. He was extremely detailed oriented and he knew all the great poses that we should make. Even prior to the big day, we really appreciated that he went over the entire timeline with us and really spoke to us about what we wanted, yet on the day of was also flexible and incorporated more pictures that we didn't even realize we would want. Jonathan definitely works hard and takes wonderful pictures—we could not be happier with his work and would definitely hire him again if we had another major event in Seattle!

Jon is a wonderful photographer who brings a fun energy to the shoot. We were fortunate to have won an engagement shoot with him and he went above and beyond for my fiance and I. Within two weeks, we got our photos back and they came out beautiful. We love his unique editing style. He also introduced us to some other wedding vendors which was a big help for us during the planning process.

We were recommended to Jonathan by a friend and we were happy we selected him as our wedding photographer. In our video calls, he took time to get to know us and to learn what was important to us. We didnt want our wedding day to feel like a photo shoot and preferred a journalistic approach.

Before the wedding, he provided a very helpful guide to prepare us for the big day. He was prompt in his email communications and we appreciated the attentiveness he gave us.

During the wedding, he was good at being inconspicuous while taking photos. For most of the day, we didnt realize he and the second photographer were there! We gave him the nickname “Photo Ninja”! This allowed us to fully be in the moment and enjoy our wedding.

Jonathan revealed the finished photos about a month after the wedding. We were very satisfied with them. There was a mix of group photos, journalistic photos of the ceremony/reception, still photos of decorations, and candid photos of the wedding party and guests. He did a great job of capturing the memories from the wedding.

Overall, we are very pleased with Jonathans work. He was accommodating and flexible to fit our needs and budget. He was friendly and easy to talk to. We would recommend him to anyone looking for a photographer.

My fiancé and I had a great time at our engagement session with Jonathan at Terra Valley farms. He coordinated a beautiful shoot for us with multiple vendors including a wedding venue, a florist, a hair and makeup artist, a mobile barber and a professional dog walker! He made us feel so special during our shoot. It's not easy to be photographed and he eased all of our fears. He made taking pictures fun and easy! We tried an awkward pose but by the end of it we were all laughing and the photos turned out great. He has a great eye for detail and is very creative. His style is bright and natural. Nothing ever felt stiff or posed. I’d definitely recommend Jonathan for an engagement shoot, wedding photos or any other special moment!
