I’m Stephen Orlick and I love to photograph cherished moments and create romantic images for people in love.
Some time ago a buddie of mine was getting married. I attended his wedding as a guest only. The wedding site was beautiful! The Bride is a Pastry Chef and made gift bags with delicious rosemary and thyme shortbread cookies and five!... absolutely beautiful, wedding cakes.
The only thing that was out of place was their photographer. Instead of photographing the events of the day the photographer had a check list of stiff, posed, old school pictures that had to be taken. No energy... no spontaneity, no creativity or view point. He hijacked their wedding and turned it into a list of tasks to complete. The bride and groom hated their wedding pictures.
I thought to myself, "How would I want my wedding photographed"? As inspiration I looked at the JFK wedding photographs. I admired the timeless elegance and grace of those images. I also noticed several trends in wedding photography I do not care for such as people jumping in the air for no reason. Bride and Groom posing as if they are board and have no connection with the person their standing next to, or trendy crazy over-saturated color in photos.
So with my years of experience as a fashion photographer combined with photojournalistic story telling, I formulated my approach to shooting weddings. A "Editorial Style" of wedding photography that combines Fashion Photography with Photojournalism. It's my mission and passion to photograph your wedding with grace, elegance and romance. My goal is to make your wedding photographs look as if they were shot 20 years ago, today, or 20 years into the future.
