About Us

One Love Photo joyously tells stories while incorporating classic film, retro cameras and creatively-imagined lenses. Heather Gilson and Jon Almeda's collaboration focuses on fundamentals: artistic composition, client relationships and capturing ethereal light. The married pair successfully combines film, digital and homemade lenses into a cohesive narrative, blending both contemporary and vintage elements.

Working with stylistic symmetry, Jon tends to be the big picture guy, quietly catching candid moments, while Heather enjoys capturing small details like a hair blowing in the breeze. Advance planning, scouting locations and instantly assessing light conditions play essential parts, but during a wedding shoot, Heather and Jon perform an intuitive dance, seamlessly reversing roles: when one follows the action with digital precision, the other plays with film, funky lenses and toys. Kind of like marriage.
