Are you willing to do the things I want even if they might seem unconventional or might not seem traditionally correct?  I consider it my responsibility to inform the couple when something is out of the ordinary of artistic or traditional norms.   After that however I consider it my job to follow the wishes of my clients and do the best job possible to achieve the designs they have discribed.

What happens when I come in for a consultation?   First I ask a lot of questions about what you want from the first meeting.   If you are just looking for general ideas and prices then that is the goal of our meeting.   If you already have many of your ideas, i.e. colors, themes, possible flowers, pictures of various bouquets and arrangments, etc., then I will work with you through a seventeen page wedding worksheet that will focus you on each aspect of your floral needs.   At the end of going through this exercise, which takes between thirty minutes to an hour, you will have a very good idea of what your floral reguirements will look like and cost.

I strongly advise each couple to start early and work on the event a little each day.   There are many wedding planning books available.  Get one and follow it.   There are thousands of details to a successful wedding and these wedding guides will take you one step at a time.   Find a person you trust, (friend, relative, etc.), that knows what is supposed to happen at the wedding. For example, when and where the vendors are supposed to set up, phone numbers of all the vendors, the designs and colors of the decor, flower designs, cake, catering, etc.  As you get closer to the wedding day start to allow this person to take the calls and the questions from all of the people involved.   On the day of the wedding have this person take all of the calls and resolve the many questions and issues that are sure to come up.   This "buffer" person is worth their weight in gold.   The bride and the groom will have more than they can handle without having to worry about the logistics of the setup.   When the day comes this special person makes it possible for the bride and groom to enjoy the day.
