They were once Seattle’s best-kept-secret: a husband-wife team quietly working out of their Bellevue home studio, creating stunning wedding images for a select group of clients.  After winning national recognition and the ‘Seattle Bride Best Photographer’ award three years in a row, Ken and Tania Shepard of Azzura Photography quickly became the Northwest’s most sought-after wedding photographers.  It wasn’t long before Azzura’s unique style and raving clients landed them on the elite referral lists of Seattle’s top venues and coordinators, and their weddings are often booked years in advance.

All the buzz hasn’t slowed Ken and Tania from doing what they love most, and their full photography schedule is exactly what they dreamed of when they married seven years ago.  “We often wonder how we became so fortunate, and I think a large part of it is our desire to get to know our couples and create photographs that are not just beautiful, but are also deeply meaningful to them,”  says Ken.  “There is a quality of genuineness in our images that is hard to describe, but you can feel it; when you look at the photographs, you know the moments are real and that our couples are truly being themselves.” 

Despite overwhelming demand for Azzura’s photography, Ken and Tania are continuing to cater to a limited number of clients rather than expand and add other photographers.   “We really feel we can best serve our clients by remaining a boutique, and we can only preserve our artistic vision and remain true to our style if we are personally photographing each and every event,” shared Tania.  “We love being small, love meeting our clients in our home, and love being personally invested in our couples – we just couldn’t imagine it any other way.”
