It’s not a huge surprise that South Beach is one of the best places to propose in Miami. Our recommendation? Stay at one of the luxurious hotels on South Beach like the 1 South Beach, The Betsy, or the W South Beach, and enjoy the private beach access that gets you away from the crowds. You can also visit the beach during off-peak hours (on a weekday or early in the morning) for a more intimate and private proposal experience, or just take a stroll around the neighborhood, admiring the famous Art Deco architecture.
Matheson Hammock Park
If South Beach is not your scene, you can still have an amazing beachfront proposal in a more private setting. We love the beach and atoll pool at Matheson Hammock, located in the Coral Gables area. This is the perfect quiet beach for lounging or, if you’re the adventurous types, you can rent kayaks or standup paddleboards and pop the question afterwards. Celebrate with a picnic on the beach or a delicious meal at the waterside Red Fish Grill (perhaps with family waiting to surprise you!).
The Ancient Spanish Monastery – St. Bernard de Clairvaux
Looking for a Miami proposal idea that combines history and architectural beauty? Check out the incredible Spanish architecture of this monastery, which was built in the year 1133 AD in Spain, and then dismantled, moved to Miami, and reassembled in the mid-20th century. You’ll admire the breathtaking stone work, and find lots of hidden spots for a private proposal. If you’re planning on bringing a professional photographer to capture the moment, note that there is a fee for professional photography, and you’ll have to check with the monastery in advance.
