We are big hockey fans, so hockey season was out of the question. Didn't want any chance of a "want to watch" game being on, nor guests watching it on their phones-which I've witnessed it! Then I asked the family of their anniversaries, and avoided those, then went with a couple dates that seemed like theyd work out.

It’s our anniversary date! I’ve always wanted the date to stay the same and we wanted a longer engagement, so it worked out 10/2/20 is a Friday and gives us 2 years to plan!

Hahaha, this is a funny topic for me in my bridal journey! I always wanted a long engagement, that meaning 2.5+ years. The date of the wedding was the first and only thing that my fiancé and I decided while still vacationing after he proposed. We chose a date 3 years from that time.. beginning of summer, w/ my "special number" 21 in the date, twice. I wanted 6/21/21 hahaha, so badly.

As all these people asked me the date in the first 6 months of our engagement, there was total shock all across the board... 3 years from now?? Soon, the grandparents found out our chosen date and were like OMG, I thought it would be next year, 2019. Everyone wanted us to get married much sooner! haha

So basically, my man and I had to reconvene because the date being so far off was causing major stress to the both of us. All anyone wanted to talk about in our families and friends was our wedding, but we had 3 years ahead of us in our minds and were just living without anything to be planned.

At that point the date changed 2-3 more times, and by the end I was so over my own hangup with the date; I I told my man to just make the decision and lock it in. LOL not what I ever expected when thinking about getting engaged and "setting the date".

We'll be getting married on 5/2/2020, just a few days after our yearly anniversary

My fiance likes to keep things simple and my favorite time of year is Fall. Our first date September 23rd of 2016 the following year on the exact date he proposed. We agreed we wanted a long engagement because the first year we enjoyed being engaged without the extra stress of planning a wedding, save for the occasion, and do lots of research! The second year is all about planning the Best Day Of Our Lives. We are ready for September 23rd 2019!

We chose ours around the venue. We wanted a fall wedding but October was already booked, so we selected the date September 7, 2019. It can’t come soon enough! 🙂

Originally, I thought I wanted Christmas time. The snow. The lights. The trees. Everything is so magical. But I realized I don’t want to share such a special holiday with such a special day. I want them each to have their own time. So we played with the idea of fall or spring, eventually spring won because there is always so much going on in the fall and it’s the start of busy season for my fiancé (chef). We went with May because here in Michigan, there’s still a chance of snow any time before May. We also didn’t want anything too hot. So May was perfect. We made sure it wasn’t Memorial weekend or Mother’s Day weekend. Which only left us with 2 Saturday’s to choose from, making it easier to pick. The day after we got engaged, I actually went out and got a lotto ticket because I was feeling so lucky. My winning scratch off numbers were one of those 2 dates(5, 30, and 20)!!! We took it as a sign that God liked that date more - so May 30, 2020 here we come!!

We simply both agreed on wanting a fall wedding for different reasons. I wanted a November day and we wanted it a good ways away from holidays and birthdays and so we decided November 3rd of 2019.

We chose our date because that is our anniversary. We will be together for 6 years on the day we get married ❤️
Our venue is my dads backyard so it made it real easy.

We’re both in Emergency Response and he works at a chemical plant so Priority #1: Avoid Houston summer. Priority #2 Avoid Hurricane Season. Priority #3 Avoid plant maintenance period. So April 2020 it is.

My fiancé proposed September 22nd of this year & we wanted a date that was far enough away to save up enough money to make sure we can get the money for everything together & we wanted the date as close as we could to when he proposed. So September 19th 2020 it is!

My fiancé and I picked August 20th of 2022 for a few different reasons. 1: we need as much time as we can get to save the money. He knows a lot more of his family than I do, which means a slightly bigger wedding for us. 2: August 20th is when he asked me out 7 years ago. So, we both liked the idea of getting married on the date we officially started going out on. Plus in 2022, August 20th is on a Saturday!
