How did you pick your wedding date?

We originally wanted September 14th, but our venue was already booked that day for the Folk and Fiddle festival they have every year (that's what we get for picking a farm 😂). Ultimately decided on the 7th because it's earlier in the month and more likely to have nice weather. The 21st is my grandparents' anniversary and I was thinking of choosing that day, but decided to let it stay as just their day.

We wanted our engagement to be around a year and knew a generalized area and then narrowed down our location and chose our date that way due to their availability. We are getting married in South Carolina so certain factors such as heat and hurricane season also came into play.

We picked 2021 as our house and car will be paid off in 2020. We picked May 1st. Love the spring season! Also it's 9 days before our daughter's 5th bday. We actually had changed our date a few times. First it was April 2019. Then October 2020. But we settled on May 1 ,2021! Gives me more time to plan and save!

We originally wanted August 2019, which would have been labor Day weekend in Santa Barbara so our guest would have a day to get back and rest. I started nursing school this past August and 8 just didn't have the time. So we pushed it to 2020, So now we are thinking of LA just because there are lot more options or Chino. I have a week off from school so we went with 02/29/2020 (leap day) so that we could go on a honeymoon and have a little time to ourselves to enjoy being married. My parents will stay with our girls so they won't have to miss school. Thinking about going to India for our honeymoon.

We became engaged Aug. 2 of this year. We both LOVE Halloween, but didn't want to be married ON Halloween. We chose 10.26.2019. It's close enough to our favorite holiday without actully being on that day. We also chose a year-longish engagement to give his mom time to recover from some health issues. My daughter is also having her first baby in January, so it will give her time to recover from that as well. She and her brothers, along with my Stepfather will be walking me down the aisle!

10/27 is a bye week for The Ohio State University. Once we decided on 2018 I immediately looked up the schedule! Go Bucks!

I'm an educator, and out of school in Mid-May so if were were to have a wedding not where we live it had to be after that. If we did it where we live during the school year, it would have to get married on Saturday and back to work on Monday (no chance of "time off"). My MOH is also an educator and out of school near the end of June, so it had to be after that if she had to travel. But it also had to be far enough from when I go back to work in Mid-August. So July it was! I chose the 14th because it was memorable for me (Bastille Day).

We’re already married. We got married in Las Vegas and had no wedding reception. We decided to renew our faith and get married through the church. We chose to keep the same date, so we will have our dream wedding April 25, 2020. I’m even more excited than the first time!

Our original plan was a beach wedding, so I wanted a big beautiful full moon during our reception. And even though we arent having a beach wedding I still wanted a full moon so the sky would be naturally bright.

    Yeah a little bit!

My FH doesn't want to wear a tux because that's just not comfortable for him, and we're trying to make the wedding affordable so the guys will be wearing a white button down, black slacks and a star wars bow tie

Maggie- We are planning on spending our wedding night at the Stanley Hotel. They will be having their HallowBall that night! We have to wait until the Summer of 2020 to take our big honeymoon. I'll be on summer break from work then! Plus, it will give us time to save up more money to make it awesome.. Smiley smile

Oh boy, so ours was very meticulously planned out hahaha. Mostly process of elimination...

I always knew I wanted a June wedding... we live in New Jersey, July-August is too hot, October-March is too cold, I get spring allergies in April-May, and September is my birthday month so already has something special. Plus my brother (also our officiant) is still in college so it would be much easier for him if we did it during a non-school month.

We knew we were going to have a Sunday wedding too, so I told my FH I really wanted June (he was fine with that) and told him that since I picked the month I wanted him to pick the actual date, so any Sunday in June 2019. He is really sentimental and theoretically liked the idea of getting married on our dating anniversary but knew that wasn't realistic since it's in February (bitter cold and snowing like 90% of the time in NJ) and also on a Wednesday next year lol. Then he realized 6/2 was the same numbers as our dating anniversary (which is 2/6) so immediately latched onto it! Worked out perfectly!

We both agreed that we wanted at least a year, but not more than two years to plan everything/pay for everything once we were properly engaged. And then from there, we had both already decided long before we were actually engaged that we wanted a Halloween-themed wedding. We simply picked the closest Saturday to Halloween that we could find! 10/26/2019. In a perfect world, we would actually be getting married on 10/31, but we didn't want to wait until 2020 to actually tie the knot (10/31 on a Saturday in 2020). I honestly don't even want to wait a year from now to be married to him, haha, but I'm trying to be patient. And we're totally fine with it simply being close.

Our venue is beautiful, romantic & vintage!! I think given the time of year we'll have our ceremony indoors plus there's a beautiful balcony for me to walk down!!!

Our dating anniversary is in January so can def. relate to not wanting to keep a winter anniversary! I'm looking forward to the weather not always ruining anniversary plans anymore.
