Fun things to put into programs? help!

Kimi K, on February 23, 2012 at 10:04 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 16

Well, this week is just flying by too fast. I wanted to have my programs completed 2 weeks ago but life took over and they're still not done. Heck, we don't even have them printed yet!

We would like to have 2 pages of "filler" ... something fun and lighthearted. I'd love to hear your ideas!

The only thing we could find was a word puzzle or word find which we're not really interested in doing.

Wow, you are way behind schedule. Fortunately, you only have to make 8. Isn't that a lot of trouble for 8 people? Since time is of the essence, I would just finish them up with pictures.

I wouldn't consider it "way behind schedule". We've got 12 programs to put together which won't take long at all. The hard part is getting it completed electronically so we can have it printed this evening.

Any other fun & unique ideas?

How about include your story- how you met, or the grandpa leap day thing, that would be so cute!

I was going to say fun facts also, What about fill in the blanks or true/false... questions like:

where do you see the couple in 1yr, 5yrs,10yrs, ect.

How many children do you think they will have?

Do you think they will be rich and famous or broke and busted?

It would be fun to see what your "friends" will say that you will be doing and how they think your life is going to be, years to come..

I know you could come up with some really cool stuff if you did a pick A,B, or C

You could make it funny and not serious.

    Just a thought

Don’t know if something here will give info you don’t currently have…

    http://www.invitationdiscounters.com/Wedding_Program_Guide.pdf Program Help

Other things you may wish to include in your wedding program (from About.com)

■An explanation of traditions or customs used in your ceremony

■A request for audience participation in certain parts of the ceremony (e.g. affirmation of the marriage, communion, singing, offering of the peace, standing or kneeling)

    ■Thank yous

■Memorials (for example: The memorial candle is lit in honor of the bride’s mother, Shirley Fielding.) More advice on honoring a deceased parent or relative

■A short sentence about each of your bridesmaids and groomsmen, describing why they are important to you.

■An explanation of the significance of the location, theme, first dance song, etc.

■Quotes or poems about love or marriage

    ■Directions to the reception

Meaningful quotes, stories, or passages? Your engagement story (if you want to share it)?

Childhood photos of you both? Those are always a big hit at weddings. Maybe trivia about the two of you as little kids? You could do a g-rated version of the Conan O'Brian "If they made it" and photoshop pics of what your kids might look like or list a bunch of your individual traits and have your guests "build a kid". lol.

Your parents' wedding photos and/or stories?

Not sure how quirky/goofy vs. sentimental you want to get.

What about an Ispy for the ceremony location (it could be really fun at a destination wedding, a palm tree, an exotic flower, ect) or my fav, (which will be on the back cover of my programs,"he said, she said:
