Dinner date after work @ Stonebridge Country Club, barely had time to put on makeup after working 12 hrs in the ER, thought about cancelling, soooo glad I didn't. I met him @ Tacketts pub parking lot to have him follow me to the Country club because he'd never have found it for all the construction. At first glance, I thought, Tall, handsome, very nice. He followed me to the clubhouse and niether one of us touched a single bite of our dinner, we never stopped talking, I imagine we were rude to the waitstaff because I dont even remember talking to them. After dinner we sat on a bench @ the 10th hole and didnt want the night to end, I remember him telling me to remember this night, because he was going to marry me. (yeah, yeah, they all say that!) But... I knew he was right, even if I wouldnt admit it to myself. I went directly home and removed my profile from match.com, I remember trying to show his profile to Eleanor & Victoria and wondering why I couldn't find it when Victoria (light bulb) said, "he took his profile off too!". We took a long time to say I love you, but we really always felt it, from the start. After lots of miles on the Durango all days of the week, we finally moved in, leaving Martinsburg behind and embracing Mike, Josh and Virginia. Our first Christmas I put a whistle in his stocking because he reminded me of Msr Van Trapp when we'd go out to McDonalds or whichever fast food place because he'd line them up and point to each one and say "order", like a drill seargant! I think I was sure I loved him then :) Then came a very difficult Thanksgiving where I cried all day and night, looked like a monster with swollen eyes almost shut, he not only comforted me but took me shopping, on all days Black Friday, and bought me an engagement ring! I wasnt sure he had, although I suspected, he kept me wondering until we went sking New Years Eve. It was too warm to ski, but the boys didnt care, so they snowboarded while we watched from the lodge over cocktails. At some point sitting there at the bar, he revealed the outline of a ring box in his coat pocket, but said he couldnt propose in a bar!!! He went to the mens room and left his coat on his barstool only to find me wearing his coat when he came out, ummmm hm! So... after the slope closed, he walked me out onto it, and proposed :)Needless to say, I said yes, AND IM VERY HAPPY!!!!
