    I would highly recommend Willi Wong to be your wedding day photographer! He was recommended to me by a friend - most of her family had also hired him to be their photographer. He is a seasoned photographer who is packed with experience in photography. An extra bonus for me is that he's Chinese and speaks Cantonese (it was easy when he needed to communicate with my family during family portrait sessions, it gets pretty chaotic) and he understands all of the Chinese rituals that went on during the ceremonies - he doesn't skip a beat! He's also extremely passionate and dedicated to taking great photos - he will do what he has to in order to get that shot in. I am so happy that Willi was with us on our wedding day to capture every single little detail of our special day!

    Willi is really one of the best there is. Shortly after we got engaged my sister called me and told me about Willi and said that we had to have him at our wedding. He had photographed her sister-in-laws weddings and my sister told met they were the best she had seen. Willi traveled down to Washington DC for our wedding and honestly I was a little nervous because I knew that he was NYC based and was worried he wouldn't know DC well enough to capture our favorite scenes. I also didn't meet Willi until the Thursday before our wedding weekend.

    All of that said, working with him was entirely flawless. He came down at met us at our venue on the Thursday before the wedding to meet with us and even snapped a few shots of us that day. He spent time scoping out the city to get a feel for where he would want to shoot on the wedding day. On the day of the wedding he was prompt, even early, and stayed until the very end. He made us feel comfortable the whole time, especially as we are both sort of shy around the camera and don't love to be photographed. The results speak for themselves... he is truly talented. If you want your wedding pictures to be timeless masterpieces than you can't go wrong. The portraits of us look like paintings. The pictures of the ceremony and reception are all wonderful too. Everyone who sees our pictures is in awe.

    Willi put a few pictures on his blog a few days after the wedding and below is an excerpt from an e-mail I sent him when we got a peak, just so you can see that my feelings have remained the same four months post wedding:

    "Wow. I'm speechless. Mike and I are on our honeymoon in Hawaii and getting the preview of pictures has been a very special treat. The pictures are truly amazing. We love every single one. I don't think I can thank you enough for your time and work over the weekend. At the end of the day, aside from the memories, all you have after a wedding are the pictures-- and you have captured every moment so beautifully, we will have memories for a lifetime."

    We got Willi’s name from a friend of ours who had used him for their wedding. We met with Willi to see his portfolio and were extremely impressed. Especially after meeting with several other photographers and not being blown away.
    The day of our wedding was so hot. Yet, Willi never let on that he was uncomfortable and had so much energy. He also had to put up with some cranky people that were not too happy taking a lot of pictures in the heat. He gave direction in order to get the right pictures but without being rude. We also got a video, which we were not going to do at first. We are so happy we did. It's unbelievable and our family loves it. Our wedding pictures exceeded our expectations and we are so thankful to Willi for capturing the entire wedding day.
    Thank you Willi for our pictures that captured one of the truly happiest days of our lives.

    My fiance proposed in my favourite city, New York. To commemorate that event, we wanted our engagement photos to be done in New York, despite living in Toronto. I searched for many photographers and finally decided with Willi. Probably the smartest choice thus far in our wedding planning process.

    Willi was flexible in terms of coordinating our appointment, location & time. He was every bit professional the day of our engagement photos. And most importantly, he's definitely an artist.

    Willi, thank you so much for a memorable experience, I can only wish you would be there for my wedding day as well as my photographer!!!

    We are extremely happy with Willi's work for both our engagement photos and the wedding day. Willi is as passionate about capturing those unforgettable moments as we are and it shows in his work.

    Our engagement session was every bit fun as it was natural. Willi went above and beyond with the session - very professional, even though we practically dragged him all over Long Island and Queens. He took our idea and vision for the shoot and went above and beyond our expectations. All our family and friends raved about the outcome and we received countless compliments. The visuals from the shoot were stunning and the photos still take our breaths away.

    As for our wedding day - Willi and his assistant worked their butts off and we are super grateful for their commitment to a job well done. We knew Willi would come through and now have him to thank for all the intimate and amazing moments captured on lens through out the day. As an experienced professional, Willi also possesses the capacity for fresh, modern, and innovative photography.

    We could not be happier with our engagement and wedding photos. Willi has a special talent for seeing beautiful shots in unexpected places: seemingly ordinary backdrops – a fence post, a railing – became beautiful works of art. He also has a great eye for details, so if you are the kind of bride (like me) who wants your photos to capture the tables, the flowers, and all the other details that you've worked so hard on, Willi will get it right.

    Perhaps most importantly, he is relaxed and will go with the flow on your day. I didn't want to be aware of the photographer on my wedding day -- I just wanted to enjoy! After the formal portraits were done, I barely noticed Willi -- although I learned later that he was climbing over things and dangling off railings just to get that perfect shot. He is a true professional and will get the job done, so you can relax and trust that your photos are in great hands.

    Willi is not just a great photographer because he captures fantastic images. His communication skills kept my crazy and wild family in lined, entertained and at the same time got great family formals for Mom. I’m able to relive my day over and over again due to Willi’s sense of timing. He captured every emotional aspect of my special day seamlessly.

    Willi was simply amazing. Before our wedding, we didn’t fully realize the importance of the photographer, we just knew we wanted nice pictures. But after meeting Willi, it became immediately obvious that he brought something special to the wedding. We had met with several different photographers before I stumbled upon Willi, and while many of them had nice portfolios, I always felt like there was something missing. With Willi, we felt an instant connection and sensed that he took not only great pride in his work, but also had a genuine interest in the people he photographed.
    Deciding to do an engagement session with him was one of the smartest (and most fun) things we did we in preparation for our wedding. He made us feel comfortable from the start - despite the fact that both us were not previously so comfortable being in front of a camera. His photography was natural and really captured the emotions of our wedding and our friends and family. On top of all that, we quickly realized that he is not just a photographer, but an artist. Some of our favorite moments from our wedding day come from running around the streets of Manhattan and taking photos with Willi. It was one of the most relaxing parts of the wedding day when we were able to just slip away and have fun. We couldn’t be happier with how our photos turned out and have received countless compliments on the quality of the photography.     Willi Wong was our first and only photographer we met with for our wedding. Booking him, was by far the easiest decision we've made during the entire wedding process. Honestly, once I saw Willi and Robert the morning of my wedding, I knew my wedding was complete. He came earlier than expected and was fabulous the entire day. He is professional, honest, hard working and takes pride in his work. I get so excited every time I look at my pictures, because I am able to re-live my wedding day over and over again!! He calls himself the story teller and our story was romantic and beautiful and everything we could have asked for and more!!! Willi and Robert - THANK YOU!!

    Artistry does not even begin to describe Willi’s work. My wedding pictures were beyond anything I ever imagined them to be…I will forever be grateful to Willi for capturing the entire essence of my wedding day. I did not get “pictures,” still frames of events that occurred throughout our special day…I got to see the entire story of my wedding…bringing back emotions, smells, thoughts that I experienced throughout the day. He was everywhere, and yet he was nowhere to be seen. He captured moments, both private and public, of myself and of my husband, as well as those of my guests. I was able to see, despite being pulled in a million directions, that my beloved family and friends were having a great time, and more importantly, they felt the love that was in the hall that day. I got to see my wedding through someone else’s eyes and to relive my wedding day without the “burden” of being the bride.

    I got Willi’s name from a friend who was incredibly interested in photography, and who had spent months researching the “perfect” photographer for her wedding. She unfortunately had to go with another photographer in the end, but she’s always regretted her decision throughout the years. When it came time for me to get married, she gave me Willi’s number and insisted that I call him. I remember the very day that I got in touch with Willi. We spoke for over an hour on the phone; we spoke of the wedding, my vision for my wedding day, but more importantly, we talked about everything else. Willi wanted to get to know ME. He wanted to know my interests, how my husband and I met…everything!! He wanted to tell the story of Chris and Lily…not just give me still frames of a day when we played dress up.

    It was even better when we met!! We looked at his portfolio…but I already knew that he does amazing work. Everyone’s wedding was unique; it was a reflection of the couple. I loved the fact that he speaks Cantonese and mandarin, and is traditional enough to understand my parent’s concerns and wishes, but yet he’s Americanized enough to understand what Chris and I wanted as well. I interviewed one more photographer afterward, but in my heart, I knew that Willi was the one. There was no competition. It was the easiest decision I made in all of my wedding planning! Willi’s pictures were just perfect. It was the perfect balance of traditional and modern, of candid and formal. I loved all of our formal pictures, where I knew I looked my best, but my favorites were the ones where I was cracking up over a joke that Chris told, or the one where Chris and I were just having a moment, marveling in our day, and we didn’t realize that Willi was able to capture that moment in a photo. It was just a perfect mix. Choosing a picture for our thank you card was torture; there were many pictures that were just right…we eventually went with a collage of pictures just because we couldn’t choose. I never thought I would get so many responses to my thank you cards, everyone marveling at the beauty of my photos and how Willi captured us perfectly.

    Willi works so hard to create photos that are completely yours; every wedding is unique; and every couple’s personality will be sure to shine through. I am honored to call Willi my friend and I hope he will be there to document all the stages of our life. Thank you Willi, for my treasured photos.

    With all the complexity and stress of organizing a wedding you hope that each step of planning goes smoothly because the liklihood is that it won't. Even trying to keep things simple is complex. We wanted a no-frills, tasteful wedding. We wanted to enjoy it ourselves and have happy memories of the evening. The easiest decision I had to make (other than saying 'yes' to my fiancée) was picking Willi Wong to be our photogrpaher. Willi is a talented, humble, sweet guy. He was easy to deal with, reasonable, understanding of who we were, a genius behind the camera lens, and funny. He is totally the kind of guy you want at your wedding. For us he was the ideal photographer, capturing hundreds of great photos, yet blending with the evening in a way that allowed us to truly be present at our own wedding. Thanks Willi!!- Molly & Jeff

    My husband and I knew that our wedding day would fly by before we had a chance to really take it all in. After the many months of planning and hard work, we wanted to make sure we had great photographs that captured the moments we may not have had the time to fully appreciate on the day of. When we found Willi Wong, we knew he would be the perfect photographer for us. His portfolio was versatile and showcased a well-matched combination of art and tradition. And his laid-back, receptive demeanor put us at ease. Being able to actually enjoy our day at the time and look back at the amazing moments now to see what we may have missed is a great feeling. It was a pretty chaotic day filled with excitable family members, missing limos, several photo locations, and what probably amounted to almost 12 hours of photos but Willi didn’t skip a beat. Each picture came out better than the next and we were thrilled to see them all. We couldn’t have made a better selection for a photographer and we highly recommend him. Thank you to Willi and Robert for all the great work!

    Definitely worth every penny we spent and best decision I made for the wedding!!!! We absolutely loved our wedding photos. I studied Fine Arts so when it came to photographs I am quite picky. The first time I saw Willi's work was at my sister's wedding 5 years ago. His photojournalist style caught my eye and decided then that I'm definitely using him for my wedding. We booked the 10 hour package and Willi and his assistant came early and well prepared. Every moment of the day was captured beautifully. They were by our side the whole day. Willi took pictures of me getting ready and Robert spent time with my husband while he was getting wedding...they didn't miss a beat. We also booked Willi for engagement photos 6 months prior. I strongly recommend this. You'll be much more comfortable and relaxed the day of. Wedding photos and video is the only thing you have to look back on that day so choose wisely. Don't skimp on this if you're budgeting. I know so many of people that overlooked this part and was disappointed afterwards. Choose Willi and you won't be disppointed and have any regreats.     Willi's pictures are natural, artistic and absolutely beautiful. He truly is an artist with charming personality and great sense of humor. He will put you at ease and make you laugh. He is also very respectful and professional. We loved working with him! Willi was very attentive to our requests. Along with Robert his assitant, who also is very talented photographer, they took incredible, dreamlike pictures that we will cherish for a lifetime!

    Willi arrived late without apologies. He acted very arrogant and unprofessional to his assistant and my guests. Apparently he put his ego above his quality of service. It is very disappointing. I do not care how well, or not, he can take pictures. He is very unpleasant and disrespectful. I wish we had never used him. I would never recommend him.
