We first found Ein Photography shortly after we got engaged in 2022, when Tim shot our engagement photos amongst the gorgeous Central Park cherry blossoms. We were so happy with the way these photos turned out that when it came time to choose a photographer for our wedding, we knew it had to be Ein Photography! Kevin and Akiko shot our wedding in October 2024, and they did an absolutely stellar job. From prep at the Knickerbocker Hotel in Times Square, to a photoshoot with a vintage taxi at the New York Public Library, and then to our stunning ceremony and celebration at the Bordone, they were warm, professional, poised, and delivered amazing results. Months later we are still admiring the photos, which perfectly capture our love, the joy of our family and friends, and the essence of NYC. We prioritized our photography and videography vendor right after we booked our venue and date as we knew capturing our priceless memories was going to be our next most important decision. We met with Tim after seeing his beautiful portfolio of work and were excited to confirm he was available for our wedding. We had immediate comfort with Tim and team on our wedding day, as they had a strong idea how to set us up and get the best shots out of us. He even came up with some creative lighting effects on the a lot that turned out amazing.

Taking a bunch of pictures can be daunting, but Tim and his team made it feel so effortless!!

Tim and everyone on his staff were so wonderful and professional. Getting into the action at every point of the day. The team was so helpful when I had to walk in my heels and dress up a hill on the golf course to get a great photo, and Tim even held up a video of baby shark in order to get my nephew to look at the camera!

When my then-fiance and I were looking for photographers for our wedding, we had settled on at least one common interest: photojournalism. We wanted the photos to document the day without overproducing it, but also emphasizing all the magic and beauty of the wedding in a thoughtful, well-composed manner. I’m a videographer myself, so I was picky about the style I wanted. A lot of wedding photos can be overly produced or too flashy, while on the other end of the spectrum, we found underlit, lazily composed photos that failed to capture the essence of the big day.

So after searching for the perfect balance of style and substance, we found Ein Photography. Owned and operated by Tim Yun, Ein has a style that is rooted in photojournalism, without sacrificing the lighting and staging that goes into quality wedding photography. After contacting him, we were invited to Ein’s studio where we saw gorgeous albums they had produced, showcasing a range of locations and families of all types. Tim was able to walk us through the process of not only booking the photos, but the entire timeline of what “photo moments” to expect and when to expect them. After that night, we almost instantly decided to go with Ein, and in 2019, had our engagement photos done in beautiful Red Hook, Brooklyn. Tim was a pro through the whole process and made the photo walk fun and light hearted.

With our wedding originally planned for June 2020, however, we would eventually have to postpone the wedding a total of three times! Every time, Tim stayed in contact with us and held onto our booking without question. When we finally settled on a May 2022 date, not only was Tim ready to go, but he was able to quickly adapt the wedding timeline he had made for us all the way back in 2020.

And then, on the big day, Ein really came through, shooting the early moments of the wedding in an AirBnB we had rented for hair, makeup, and dressing. He carefully staged the photos as needed, giving delicate direction to my wife, while also capturing genuine candid moments. His assistant was also laser-focused on getting excellent, thoughtful shots of me and the groomsmen, with gorgeous detail shots, and a clever use of the surrounding architecture. We left the AirBnB and walked a few blocks to our wedding venue. This was one of the most magical moments for us, as it allowed Tim to capture us happily walking across Williamsburg, Brooklyn, taking in all the beauty of the neighborhood.

He made it all seem effortless.

During the ceremony, Ein captured some incredible moments from both us and the family. Tears, smiles, laughter, and everything in between. Perhaps our favorite photo was of us walking down the aisle during the recessional against a backdrop of bubbles cascading around us. It’s whimsical and just perfectly captured. After the remaining family photos were taken, Tim was courteous enough to give us a short break before toasts, and covered the remainder of the night from within the crowd. His detail shots, especially of the venue and gobo light we had installed outside, are truly special, and showed his attention to detail and talent for capturing spaces.

Throughout the whole process, Ein Photography was professional, caring, and attentive to our needs. We can’t recommend them highly enough, and they had an instrumental part in making our day easier and more relaxed.
