Great DJ! Professional, Communicative, and Fun!
Kirk was an amazing DJ! We found Kirk from our Venue recommendation list and reviewed his stellar reviews on The Knot and Wedding Wire. After speaking with him and other DJs we chose to go with Kirk because he fulfilled all of the needs we were looking for and was also reasonably priced.
It was very easy to work with Kirk as he communicated well. He responded to emails in a reasonable time and agreed to have Zoom meetings to discuss what we were looking for leading up to the wedding.
On the day of the wedding he arrived on time, was appropriately dressed, and ready for our guests when they came. Guests loved interacting with Kirk and said he was very funny and kind!
Before the wedding, we provided Kirk with a playlist of some songs that we liked. Some were slow songs for cocktail/dinner time others were fun dancing songs. He was able to appropriately play the songs at different times of the night and he added his own recommendations which matched the style of music we were looking for perfectly.
Lastly, Kirk MC-ed the event and really helped us and all of the vendors stay on time, keeping the night flowing smoothly.
I would recommend Kirk to anyone who is having a wedding or other events in the DMV area.Kirk was an amazing DJ! Best dj ever
In 2018 my brother and sister-in-law had Kirk DJ their wedding. Their wedding was a blast and everyone RAVED about how great the music and the DJ was. Two days after getting engaged Kirk was the first vendor we reached out to and hired. He was super easy to work with, and answered all my questions (I think at one point I was emailing him daily). My reception was amazing and he had everyone dancing. Our reception ended at midnight and the hotel had to turn the lights on and tell us to leave because everyone was having such a good time. Kirk is an amazing DJ! He was so kind to me and my husband, my family and my guest. I would recommend him to everyone! Great DJ at a reasonable price, who kept the party going all night
Kirk was a pleasure to work with.
He was super flexible and basically ran our wedding reception...despite us having a coordinator. He made sure to give everyone ample warning when they were due to give a blessing or a speech. He kept our guests aware of what was happening and also checked in on us multiple times throughout the night. He kept the party going with a great mix of music and everyone had a wonderful time overall.
Would highly recommend Kirk for your event.Kirk was a pleasure to work with.

Highly recommend DJ Kirkabee
DJ Kirk was a great addition to our wedding! Due to COVID we had several changes that included having to separate our ceremony and reception. Kirk was understanding, responsive, and kind when we reached out to him with the new plan. I can’t thank him enough for his professionalism during a stressful time! Not to mention he kept our dance floor going, interacted with our guest, and even helped one of our bridesmaids get her drink while she was eating dinner! We can’t thank you enough for all you did to make our days perfect!DJ Kirk was a great addition to our wedding! Amazing experience!
I called Kirk about a month out from my wedding to ask about his services. He could tell I was stressed being as I was planning on short notice and in the midst of COVID-19. He put my nerves at ease and told me not to worry, that he would figure it all out and he did. Professional and kept the crowd on the dancefloor
DJ Kirk was an excellent choice for our wedding this month! He kept things fun and light, reading the room well and making sure the dancefloor was full from the first to the last song. He incorporated our song 'wishlist' while also adding songs that fit the mood quite well. His announcements kept everyone on track and he was easy to work with before and during the wedding. We used Kirkabee for our wedding in November 2018. In short, Kirk exceeded every expectation we could have had. he nailed the basics - played the perfect music, read the crowd, got everybody on the dance floor. But where he really excelled was the little things - terrific communication leading up to the wedding, always making sure we had exactly what we needed during the reception, making sure we ate and always had a drink in our hand, and kept us right on schedule. If you are ready to hire a DJ, you should be calling him now.We used Kirkabee for our wedding in November 2018. AHHHH--mazing!
I write a fair amount of reviews, but this one is extra special. Kirk Rubley is one of the mostly highly recommended people I have ever review. He executed our wedding day perfectly. Truly. Details, details…from the crazy great blur that was our wedding day… The “big” things, like the perfect mix of music that kept everyone on the dance floor ALL night long - wonderful, but it really was the little things that imprinted the perfect memories. Kirk was so responsive leading up to our big day, making sure he knew what we wanted, helping us prepare our list of music and flow, answering emails during off hours to keep the stress-y bride calm.
Kirk set up everything smoothly – we almost didn’t know he was there. But then the music began! He timed everything just perfectly. PERFECTLY. There was not a bump or a silent, uncomfortable moment. It just flowed from ceremony to cocktail hour to reception to the big finish. Not too soft, not too loud – just right.
Kirk made sure the bride had water (or any other requested beverage) and asked whatever else was needed – and we know he would have helped with most anything!
Kirk checked with us throughout the evening. If something needed a quick tweak in music or timeline, or a request was made that he thought might not work for us, he checked to make sure we would be happy with his solution – he was absolutely right. And at the same time, he was in and out like the WIND and back at it –seamless!
Kirk was “cheese free” - the consummate professional. Some things we didn’t even know or see until the photographs arrived and the stories were told. He supported the Matron of Honor offering suggestions and assistance and wait…a beverage if needed!
When asked, he moved our end of the evening timeline up by 15 minutes. Then, Kirk offered to play some music as guests dissipated because there was a little extra time on the clock.
Kirk was just PERFECT for our wedding day, Friday November 2, 2018, one of the best days of our lives. We recognize how big of a part Kirk played in making that happen. We HIGHLY recommend Kirk as your DJ for any special event. He will make it special and meet your needs...and more. And the beat goes on….

Best DJ in the Business!
I cannot recommend Kirk highly enough! He is a true professional who takes extreme pride in his work. Kirk was at the venue early and went above and beyond in his duties. He was able to keep everything on pace and checked in with Meagan and I regularly to make sure we did not need anything. We did not have a wedding planner so we relied on Kirk to keep things moving along. Kirk also met with us a few months before our wedding to make sure we were all on the same page for what type of wedding we envisioned. My Sister was a first time officiant and Kirk took the time to talk with her beforehand and make sure she was comfortable with the mic/sound system. As a DJ he kept everyone dancing and having fun! We absolutely loved Kirk! From our first meeting, we knew he was the perfect DJ for us. He is very easy-going, flexible, and responsive if you have any questions. He also helped us to create a great timeline - since he has a lot of experience he gave us great suggestions as well. He made our best man and maid of honor feel comfortable before their speeches and gave them a heads-up ahead of time so they were ready when it was time to go on, which helped make everything flow smoothly!
From the very first song he played to the last, the dance floor was packed! People were even upset when he played the last song because they were having so much fun with his playlists. He can easily read a crowd and plays the best songs to keep the party going all night. One of our guests even wants to book him for their wedding after having such a fun time!

Despite weather challenges, big family logistics, and many moving pieces at our ceremony and reception, he helped us to pull off a seamless and fun day. Our families and friends have said over and over again how impressed they were by how well he paced everything and how the music choices kept everyone on the dance floor. Even guests who intended to leave early stayed until the end because they couldn't stop dancing! He also helped out with timing the ceremony and cued all of the family members and wedding party as they processed. DJ Kirk is probably the most accommodating persons you will ever meet. His ability to adapt to the crowd with differing music styles is spot on! His timing is absolutely perfect. Additionally he goes way beyond the call of duty – he was happy to get myself and husband (and even our families) drinks from the bar! We spoke with the executive board of the Grammy Awards to create a new category for “Best Wedding DJ” but was denied because Kirk would win it every year. There are no awards, words, or reviews that will do justice to expressing just how amazing Kirk was at our wedding.
From the moment we first connected over email with Kirk, we knew we made the right choice. We spoke over the phone and went over each detail from the ceremony to the reception dances. Our wedding eschewed the traditional songs, utilized a few mash-ups, and even threw in a ten minute “Halloween Dance Party” in the middle of the reception. Kirk didn’t even blink an eye (it was over the phone so I assume he didn’t) when we gave him our requests. He executed everything seamlessly. The dance floor was packed from the very beginning and never let up.
What is truly remarkable and special about Kirk is what he does between the music. Kirk would check in on us throughout the evening to make sure we were having fun, if we needed anything (definitely brought us a couple drinks throughout the night), and ensured everything else was running smoothly with vendors and timing. The music was amazing, but it was Kirk’s careful and constant attention to us throughout the night that puts him in a category of his own.
We cannot recommend Kirk enough. If he is free for your wedding or event – book him now! Our wedding would not have been as memorable and fun as it was without Kirk - he made it absolutely perfect.
We spoke with the executive board of the Grammy Awards to create a new category for “Best Wedding DJ” but was denied because Kirk would win it every year. There are no awards, words, or reviews that will do justice to expressing just how amazing Kirk was at our wedding.
From the moment we first connected over email with Kirk, we knew we made the right choice. We spoke over the phone and went over each detail from the ceremony to the reception dances. Our wedding eschewed the traditional songs, utilized a few mash-ups, and even threw in a ten minute “Halloween Dance Party” in the middle of the reception. Kirk didn’t even blink an eye (it was over the phone so I assume he didn’t) when we gave him our requests. He executed everything seamlessly. The dance floor was packed from the very beginning and never let up.
What is truly remarkable and special about Kirk is what he does between the music. Kirk would check in on us throughout the evening to make sure we were having fun, if we needed anything (definitely brought us a couple drinks throughout the night), and ensured everything else was running smoothly with vendors and timing. The music was amazing, but it was Kirk’s careful and constant attention to us throughout the night that puts him in a category of his own.
We cannot recommend Kirk enough. If he is free for your wedding or event – book him now! Our wedding would not have been as memorable and fun as it was without Kirk - he made it absolutely perfect.

Kirk DJ'ed our wedding this past August, and the best way to put his service is - above and beyond. Of course he maangement the music very well, but is also was very fun and professional with introductions and transitioning of events throughout the night. Most of all, he checked in with my wife and me throughout the night to ensure that WE were okay - if we needed him to grab us a refill on our drinks, making sure we got a bite to eat, getting us out of conversation that were going too long - he was truly Superman. If i ever require a DJ again, there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that I would use Kirk again and I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone! Kirk was so great!! We have family who work with sound on a daily basis in theater so it was really important that we had a DJ who would make the music sound great, but also our outdoor ceremony. We had several conversations with Kirk and he was so helpful! Our outdoor ceremony sounded great and the reception music was SO perfect. He totally accounted for our music tastes, but had our guests on the dance floor the whole time! He also gave us great tips and advice (like how to throw the bouquet!) and was all over the proposed schedule, checking in with us several times throughout the evening to make sure everything was running smoothly. Kirk made me laugh several times throughout the evening - he really put me at ease and made our wedding feel like the party of the year. Thank you Kirk, you were awesome and helped us throw such a great event!!!!Kirk was so great!! One of the most important vendors you hire for your wedding has to be your DJ! HIRE KIRK! He was absolutely incredible. He goes above and beyond by not only Dj'ing but working with the coordinator, officiant, venue to make sure everything is P E R F E C T! His music was INCREDIBLE. Kirk was amazing! He was so easy to work with and so much more than just a DJ. He helped our best man and maid of honor get ready for their speeches, arranged our sparkler send off, and really spent some time getting to know our guests. He was so easy to work with and very responsiveness with all of our requests. All of our guests absolutely loved him and he made the wedding so much fun!!Kirk was amazing! We had the privilege to work with DJ Rob Hanna on our wedding day. He did an outstanding job at our wedding, and kept the party going from start to finish.
There were three areas in which Rob stood out to us compared with other DJs that we’ve seen. One was that he was a true music aficionado, which stems from his background both working in the music industry and playing in bands. He had many creative and thoughtful suggestions for music to play, which allowed us to pick unique songs that were also appropriate for the moment. The second was that he had an excellent sense of the crowd and the vibe in the room, and was able to both keep the party going when the energy level was high, and to give people some time to catch their breath when they were tired. The third was that he genuinely respected the occasion, and followed through on his promise to stay in the background. This was important to us, because not every DJ that we’ve seen or met can resist the urge to make the wedding about themselves rather than the couple.

We did not hire a wedding coordinator and Kirk stepped up to help us know exactly what to expect when getting ready to walk down the aisle. He set up for our ceremony music and then cued our wedding party for when to walk. Since my dad was doing the ceremony, he made sure that my dad was all set well before the ceremony started. Kirk worked well with our photographer to keep on track with our timeline while respecting our photographer's timeline.
