Hotel Wedding Venues in Lake Placid

I could not have envisioned my wedding more perfectly done than at the Whiteface Lodge! 1. the venue is absolutely gorgeous, 2. the service from Kelly the wedding Director to each bartender, valet staff, and receptionist was impeccable and so friendly, 3. Planning the event details was made very easy by Kelly's expertise and the venue amenities. Also the chef at the Whiteface Lodge is amazing and the food delicious! I've attended a lot of weddings with good caterers but this was a whole other level. My family and friends have continuously raved about this wedding which has made it even more special to my husband and I. To help other brides and grooms out there, the reason we chose Whiteface Lodge is that I had wanted to get married at Lake Placid since I was a little (personal connection to the town) and we toured several venues in the area. WL stood out because it was an all in one experience with great choices for ceremony location, reception and dancing. They also only do one wedding a weekend which gives you a very personalized experience. Kelly is your wedding coordinator for the entirety of the planning process and has a great list of preferred vendors who all have experience with WL. We did not feel the need to look for any vendors outside of the list. When you step foot on the property you feel so relaxed and the staff genuinely acted so excited for us. Your guests get access to all the amenities the Lodge has to offer (spa, game room, outdoor recreation facilities). The Lodge is elegant and embodies the Adirondack style in a beautiful and authentic way. A few things to keep in mind: as part of the venue costs, you have to book all the rooms in the Lodge's second building where the reception/ballroom is located. This was not a problem for us as we had both immediate families and the entire wedding party housed there - which made it easy to get ready day off and keep everyone organized. The suites are massive and our friends were so excited to stay there. There is limited transportation options in Lake Placid but book Bob from Polar Express Transportation in advance, our guests raved about him. There is so much more I could say (all good things) but I hope this review is helpful to future couples considering WL - We HIGHLY recommend it!

Where to even start! This was them most perfect place for our wedding. The staff was amazing. We connected instantly when we met them over a zoom call. It was stress free as we were 5 hours away trying to plan a wedding. Maureen and Alex were so helpful and always so quick to get back to us with any questions we had. Once we got to the resort, every staff member there made us feel so special. Whether it was the staff at the front desk saying hello and asking us if we needed anything, to the staff in the restaurant saying hi every time we saw them, or even the housekeeping complimenting the wedding, it was just absolutely perfect. We had rave reviews from our guests as well about the Golden Arrow. I wish we could do this all over just to work with them again. We have been missing it since the day we left. We couldn't be more happy with everything there.

So happy we found this venue for our rehearsal dinner! They did a wonderful job working with us from a distance and providing a beautiful setting and lovely meal for our event. The Great Room was warm and charming and the service was spot on! Working with Maya to plan the event was great as she thought of every detail!

We had our wedding at Lake Placid Lodge in September 2023 and it was the most amazing weekend, truly magical. The hotel, cabins, and property are stunningly designed and maintained. Everyone on the staff is kind and accommodating, and went out of their way to make us and our guests feel taken care of. Cory, Ashlyn, and Zach especially took care of us and were always checking in to make sure we were happy or seeing if we needed anything. Our guests were totally blown away and all talk about how much they miss it and planning on coming back to the Lodge in the future. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone, it’s such a special place, especially for a small wedding. My only critique is with their security/privacy. When paying for a top of the line full property buyout of such a small hotel, we expected to be totally alone with our family and friends, but we ended up spending a lot of time all weekend asking non-guests to leave the property. We found them in the restaurants/bars/lobby/fire pits, wandering near rooms, pulling up to the dock, even eating from our brunch buffet and lying (to my face) about being wedding guests! This did add some unnecessary stress to the weekend as some of these crashers were very aggressive when we told them the Lodge was closed for a private event.  It seems people from the nearby whiteface club and other airbnbs think the Lodge is open to the public, even though there are signs everywhere that say “Registered Lodge guests only”! (And the registered guests rule is always, not just during private events). This is definitely not the Lodge’s fault, they can't control the public, but just be aware and maybe ask the Lodge to hire extra staff to handle security, because they know of the issue. We had to do the bouncing ourselves or make calls to the front desk to ask them to send a staff member. Normally I wouldn't be such a stickler, but like I said we paid for a full buyout, and had lots of open bars/buffets that were meant for our guests only, plus guests had their own room charge tabs open, had doors open, presents sitting out, etc. Other than this one issue though, over the 5 days our guests stayed, everything was top notch and I would not have changed a thing. I can't wait to go back!
