Facilities and Capacity
Couples may entertain up to 250 guests for their tented wedding events at Barrows House. This six-acre getaway comes with many accommodations to treat your out-of-town guests. Couples may enjoy their wedding events outdoors or inside with their friends and family at this tranquil, private estate. Spacious outdoor grassy and patio areas, as are indoor areas, are fantastic for gatherings. The indoor capacity is 100 guests for a sit-down dinner. Additionally, The Old Gray Barn in Rupert, Vermont, is three miles up the road. It is a beautiful venue surrounded by mountains with a capacity of 200 guests. Transportation is provided from all of our properties.

They are determined to help you have a wonderful, stress-free celebration and will provide various services to ensure you enjoy yourself. They offer accommodations for you and overnight guests, as well as all-inclusive packages. They will provide you with an on-site event planner who will help coordinate your wedding. Staff will set up and clean up event items couples may rent through Barrows House, which include audio equipment, chair covers, chairs, a dance floor, decor, furniture, lighting, tables, tent accessories, and tents. They have a liquor license and offer couples bar services, which include bartenders, cash, open, or limited bar, house beer, liquor, and wine, premium liquor, a signature drink, and specialty beer and wine.
Cuisine
Barrows House will provide catering services for your events. They offer buffet, plated, stations, family style, and hors d'oeuvres serving styles, as well as dessert and cocktail reception services. Couples may bring in their own outside cake and attend tastings to preview and select menu items. They honor dietary restrictions for vegans, organic, vegetarians, and gluten-, lactose-, nut-, and pork-free.

The venue itself is breathtaking: from the blooming ceremony arbor nestled among Vermont’s towering trees, to the timeless tented reception space filled with light, laughter, and flowers, to the cozy firepits and garden paths that gave guests room to explore and unwind. We held everything on-site: welcome dinner, ceremony, reception, after-party, and the seamless flow between spaces made it feel like an immersive weekend retreat.
The food was excellent (people are still talking about the how this was the best wedding food ever!) and the staff was so kind and attentive throughout. Our guests loved staying on property, every room felt like a peaceful little escape, and it made the entire weekend feel intimate and grounded in connection.
We trusted Colleen completely, and her experience and calm confidence let us truly enjoy every moment. She coordinated beautifully with our vendors and kept everything moving behind the scenes so we could focus on soaking up the joy. The Barrows House gave us not just a venue, but a feeling. A sense of ease, celebration, and beauty that we’ll carry with us forever.

The Barrows house is beautifully newly renovated, on a unique property, lending itself to accommodate large wedding parties and their guests. Something couples struggle to find, and are very pleasantly surprised by stumbling upon this advantageous feature at the Barrows House property. A must see!! The main building + restaurant are stunning inside and out. With regards to hosting your wedding at the Barrows House, reflections I hear over and over from couples are that from the moment of conception your wedding is tailored specifically to your personal style and needs. This is largely due to the first class attention you receive by the properties manager, Colleen Clifton-Palmer. Her knowledge, vision and exemplary customer service, and providing a seamless experience are all reasons why your wedding at the Barrows House will be one to fondly remember.
