Garnet Hill Lodge, located in North River, New York, is a picturesque wedding venue located in the Adirondacks. Between our four-season resort, wide-open spaces, and beautiful lake views of the Adirondack Mountains, our Lodge offers couples a dream setting for the special day. Located in the Adirondack mountains, overlooking Thirteenth Lake, this resort sits just under an hour’s drive from Lake George and is accessible from Albany. We specialize in destination weddings, and the staff is dedicated to providing a truly memorable experience from start to finish.
Facilities and Capacity
The venue can accommodate up to 120 guests for a wedding amongst everything the countryside can offer. An intimate and romantic lodge with spectacular views, spacious lawn, and our cozy yet elegant Log House dining room all combine for an unforgettable wedding weekend. The outdoor lawn, surrounded by beautiful scenery, welcomes ceremonies before returning indoors for a reception in Garnet Hill Lodge’s Loghouse restaurant or remaining outside under our new covered pavilion.
Inside, our Log House dining room offers a cozy setting, incredible views, and a rustic yet elegant backdrop. The stone hearth of the dining room creates an intimate atmosphere that invites guests to relax. There is ample parking available on-site. If you're dreaming of a more intimate celebration, the Lodge welcomes micro-weddings with up to 40 guests and elopements with up to 10 attendees during their off-peak season.
Services Offered
Our on-site event coordinator and team at Garnet Hill Lodge are proud to welcome couples to the privacy of this mountain getaway. They can assist those celebrating throughout all stages of the wedding experience from rehearsal to reception. This includes providing a range of services such as setup and cleanup of the venue and on-going event planning. Furniture rental, including tables, is included with the venue. A special package is provided for micro-weddings and elopements in the Lodge, which includes a complimentary Prosecco toast for all guests. The surrounding area has so much to see and do. The management is happy to provide information about its hiking trails, wild swimming spots, and more. They can even organize fun trips, such as white water rafting, for all the party to enjoy.
Cuisine
With the Log House’s culinary team at their service, guests will be well taken care of throughout the night and weekend. We serve plated, sit-down dinners, delicious food stations, or thoughtful buffets. Our in-house bar team ensures that guests have a great night and a cold drink with which to toast to love.
Accommodation
Couples and their guests are invited to stay the length of the weekend when hosting a wedding at our venue. With outdoor activities and a welcome dinner on Friday, followed by wedding festivities on Saturday and a farewell breakfast on Sunday. Guest rooms in The Loghouse provide cozy accommodations, while the two cottages offer guests more space and privacy during their stay.
History
This venue is one of a few classic Adirondack-style lodges that remain today. The original structure dates back to 1936, and over the years the Lodge has served as a special place for couples and families to gather, reconnect, and enjoy all the Adirondack region has to offer. Located on a gentle hill overlooking a beautiful pristine lake, with miles of private trails and surrounded by forever wild protected state land, the lodge is the focal point of a special place that offers guests and visitors options for activity as well as rest and relaxation.

The best weekend of my life!
From the very beginning Nicole was communicative and flexible, we really were able to customize their wedding package to fit our exact needs. They were very transparent about all of their pricing and we never had any extra charges creep up on us, which I really appreciated. In fact our final bill was actually slightly lower than the estimate we received!
They were flexible but offered a lot of helpful guidance up to the day of the wedding. We had planned for dancing in the pavilion but when the weather indicated it might be too cold Nicole calmly let us know and suggested a really wonderful alternative that was then executed flawlessly by the staff. They are true professionals.
One of the many reasons that I chose to have my wedding here was that it was the most all inclusive venue I had found. Not only do they have on site accommodations for up to 72 (we were able to fit 45 with several singles), but they have tables, chairs, beautiful linens, the pavilion as a rain plan. They even have on site shuttles to pick up guests in town, if you have planed a wedding you know this is huge! They also do all catering in house. We were so pleasantly surprised by all of their food, it really was delicious and everyone was kept full and happy all weekend. People would not stop talking about the mini bbq tarts we had for cocktail hour, and the bacon at breakfast!
Lastly, I just have to shout out the staff. They really were amazing, so attentive and kind. Nicole organized everyone and all of the vendors so we could just be fully present and enjoy the day. Lucy set out all of my decor perfectly, everything looked one hundred times better than I had envisioned. Joshua was the best best best, so funny and kind literally knew my drink and would send one out to the dance floor for me!
My only piece of wedding advice is to book Garnet Hill Lodge!

Nothing short of a dream. Couldn't recommend Garnet Hill Lodge more.
We were on site for almost 4 full days for our wedding and the service felt "white glove" while being in a rustic setting. We and all of our guests felt well taken care of in such a warm and welcoming environment. Nicole and her team have developed quite the well oiled machine when it comes to putting on a reception. Every aspect of the weekend was executed seamlessly and every single guest at our wedding loved every minute of being at Garnet Hill Lodge. So many of our guests had never been to the area before and fell in love with the Adirondacks by coming to Garnet Hill Lodge. Please do yourself a favor and host your wedding here. You will not be disappointed. Once you do, you will be well taken care of by Nicole, Lucy, and Josh.

Nicole, the wedding coordinator, was absolutely amazing. She communicated clearly throughout the entire process, respected all of our ideas, and brought our vision to life seamlessly. On the big day, she was incredibly attentive and ensured everything went off without a hitch—she truly made the day run smoothly and stress-free.

October Adirondack Wedding
The Adirondacks are our home away from home. We drive up to the area at least once a season, and we knew that we'd have an Adirondack wedding before we even got engaged.
Garnet Hill first came to our attention as one of the best cross country skiing spots in NY state, and we visited the lodge for a few winters in a row. In addition to the expansive network of trails, we enjoyed the great food and cozy evenings by the fire in the Log House. We knew the views were stunning and the staff were always kind and helpful. But once we got engaged and actually started reaching out to potential venues, Garnet Hill quickly established itself as the frontrunner.
Of all the places we spoke to - or were actually able to get in touch with - Nicole at GHL was by far the warmest and most responsive. She was an excellent guide through our planning journey, checking in, answering our (many many) questions, and letting us know if we were ahead of the game or needed to catch up in certain areas. Nicole was well-organized and took notes every time we spoke, helping us to gradually craft a Wedding Weekend timeline and Wedding Day timeline that kept us all on track. Nicole and the rest of the Garnet Hill team were also flexible with our special requests for beverages and food, seamlessly accommodating allergies and a variety of diets.
The whole weekend was perfect. While there was naturally some stress getting 70 guests up to the Adirondacks for a fall wedding without the help of a planner, there was never a hiccup that Nicole and team didn’t help us navigate quickly and without drama. It was awesome to have the whole lodge to ourselves, and hanging out with our loved ones by the fire the night before the Big Day put us in a lovely headspace.
On the morning of, Nicole and her team worked with our vendors and set up all of the decor we brought, understanding our vision and making sure everything looked fabulous. That made it easy for us to focus on getting ready, taking photos, and, you know, getting married! I work in events myself, and knew I’d have a tough time letting go of the day-of execution, but the Garnet Hill staff made our Wedding Day stress free. Many of our guests raved that our wedding was one of the best weddings they’d ever been to.
Garnet Hill Lodge and its staff showcase the beauty and hospitality of the Adirondacks spectacularly. We were so thankful we could share this special place with our friends and family.
