Garnet Hill Lodge is a resort in the North River, New York, welcoming rustic wedding celebrations. The wide-open spaces and beautiful lake views of the Adirondack Mountains offer nature-loving couples a dream setting for the special day. Located in the mountains themselves, overlooking Thirteenth Lake, this venue sits just under an hour’s drive from Lake George and is accessible from Albany.
Facilities and Capacity
The venue can accommodate up to 130 guests for a wedding amongst everything Mother-Nature can offer. The outdoor lawn welcomes ceremonies surrounded by beautiful scenery before returning indoors for a reception in Garnet Hill Lodge’s Loghouse restaurant. A cozy setting, its wooden structure reflects the surrounding landscape. The stone hearth of the dining room creates an intimate, rustic atmosphere that invites guests to relax. Furniture rental, including tables, is included with the venue. There is ample parking available on-site.
The management of Garnet Hill Lodge is proud to welcome couples to the privacy of this mountain getaway. They can assist those celebrating throughout all stages of the wedding experience from rehearsal to reception. This includes providing a range of services such as setup and cleanup of the venue, and event planning. The surrounding area has so much to see and do. The management is happy to provide information about its hiking trails, wild swimming spots, and more. They can even organize fun trips, such as white water rafting, for all the party to enjoy.
With the Log House’s culinary team at their service, guests will be well taken care of throughout the night. They serve up succulent barbeque, as well as classic bar and grill staples. The in-house bar team ensures that guests have a great night and a cold drink with which to toast to love.
Couples and their guests are invited to stay the length of the weekend when hosting a wedding at Garnet Hill Lodge. With outdoor activities and a welcome dinner on Friday, followed by wedding festivities on Saturday and a farewell brunch on Sunday. Guest rooms in The Loghouse provide cozy accommodations, while the two cottages offer guests more space and privacy during their stay.
The lodge was named for a nearby garnet mine, which opened in 1893. By 1928, however, the mine’s riches were in decline and it soon ceased operation. The Loghouse was built in 1937 as a guest house and restaurant. It became the Adirondack Inn in 1970 and eventually evolved into a resort community. It underwent renovation in the 1980s; however, many original features still remain, such as the impressive stone fireplace.

Best Wedding Venue I could have asked for!!
I just had my wedding last weekend at the Garnet Hill Lodge and I really cannot express how unbelievably perfect it was! Every aspect of the wedding was exactly what I wanted. From Nicole and her staff, to the food (delicious!!), to the ambiance (the view is unbelievable), I could not have been more happy with my wedding! I can't say enough about Nicole and the rest of the staff. From beginning to end and through the whole planning process, they were really fantastic. Everyone made us feel comfortable and taken care of. I HIGHLY recommend having your wedding at the Garnet Hill Lodge!!!Sent on 10/24/2019

Magical weekend weeding at Garnet Hill
My daughters wedding this past weekend at Garnet Hill Lodge was spectacular. From the time the planning began a year ago until we picked up the last forgotten items today, the experience was amazing.Sent on 09/24/2019
Nicole, the Lodge event planner, helped us make the decisions that were needed to be made, with ease and confidence. She handled all my last minute changes with grace and a 'Got it' attitude.
All of our guests commented on the amazing views and accommodations. The food was delicious and plentiful. Nobody went hungry.
We had the entire Lodge for the wedding, so it felt like we were visiting a relative's Adirondack hideaway on the top of a mountain. Guests took advantage of the kayaks and canoes, bonfires and s'mores at night, and the well-equipped game room .
The Lodge staff was amazing, especially Lucy, who set up for the ceremony and reception according to our plans without missing an item, Patty, server extraordinaire, and Chef Brad, who offered amazing dishes as well as customized others for us.
As guests were leaving Sunday morning, all of them mentioned that it was one of the best, most relaxing weddings they have attended.
Garnet Hill Lodge's reply:Thank you for the wonderful review Sharon. We are so glad to hear you and your guests had an amazing time. We hope to see you, Jerry, Rachel & Dave for dinner from time to time. Best, Nicole

All we could have asked for and more
We knew this was the place we wanted to get married as soon as we drove up.Sent on 08/19/2019
Nicole and all the staff were amazingly helpful and accommodating with all our ideas and requests. We wanted a low-key affair that was also nice and enjoyable and Garnet Hill delivered on all counts. All our guests commented on how much they enjoyed the celebration and the venue. It was especially important to us to extend our party over the whole weekend, and being able to have a private celebration at GHL was exactly what we wanted. Our wedding weekend was everything we could have asked for and more. The staff are very professional and took care of all our needs on the wedding day, and we did not have to worry about anything and were able to relax and enjoy our celebration.
The food throughout was absolutely amazing! From breakfast to BBQ to the food for the reception, we did not have a bad meal the entire time. The kitchen accommodated all the food allergy concerns, and the Polenta the chef recommended for our reception was exceptionally good. The maître d', Lucy, made sure we were well taken care of throughout.
We really can't say enough good things about Garnet Hill. We were also able to stay within our budget, and the prices were entirely reasonable, unlike at so many other places that we looked at. Nicole and staff answered all our questions and put us at ease in planning our event. We always felt taken care of and respected. Garnet Hill was the perfect place to have our queer wedding in the Adirondacks.
Garnet Hill Lodge's reply:Thank you for the wonderful review! We are so glad the weekend was exactly what you were looking for and we were so pleased to provide the backdrop and service you desired. We'll be looking for you next year on your honey moon! :) Best of Luck to you both!!
