My finance and I were about to call it quits on planning a wedding for 100 guests. After 8 visits to other venues that felt overpriced and too heavy of a planning haul, we scheduled a time to visit Gertrudes as a last ditch effort. We were instantly impressed with Emily, the venue coordinator. Throughout the whole process she answered questions promptly and directly. Gertrudes food and drink pricing was very competitive to other catering proposals I had received for other venues. The menu options were varied to meet many different preferences and dietary restrictions. Our wedding day came, and it was more magical than we could have imagined. We opted to have our wedding in the Lower Wurtzburger Sculpture Gardens for an extra fee, it was beautiful. Our guests were commenting on the fantastic level of service they received by the staff. The ceremony flowed into a lovely outdoor cocktail hour. I could not believe my eyes at the beauty of the dining room during dinner. The low twinkling lights, and intimate seating was beautiful and romantic. Finally, we closed out dancing in the tent and everyone had a blast. I was relieved that Gertrude's by default has a sort of "wedding layout or process", meaning there was a limited amount of decisions I had to make in the planning process. Gertrudes takes care of so many things. If I had a wedding again, there is NO QUESTION I would book at Gertrudes again. Photos by A&M Photography

My husband and I hosted our wedding reception at Mount Washington Tavern, and so glad we did! We knew we wanted to buy out a restaurant to keep logistics and vendors as smooth as possible, and I looked at pretty much every restaurant in the Baltimore metro area that could seat 100 people. From our first meeting with Mary, MWT's events manager, we felt their relaxed, friendly, accommodating vibes and knew this was the place for us. MWT made our reception so easy. They built a gorgeous, two-flavor wedding cake into our per-head meal price, managed elegant decor and flowers to our specs, recommended a great DJ, and personalized the menu and bar options to suit our preferences and budget. Mary was always available to answer my thousands of questions, offered great advice from her years of experience, and was super friendly throughout. The night-of was amazing--for all their chill vibes, the MWT team produced a super professional event, with great food, elegant decor, and excellent service so smooth you hardly noticed the staff until you realized how seamless everything was. The space is great, too. If you're only familiar with MWT's downstairs, check out Pimlico, the formal dining room on the second floor. We reserved this space and the Sky bar, which is open-air in good weather (it was beautiful for our May event) and looks out onto charming, colorful Mount Washington shop fronts. Can't speak highly enough of the MWT team and location. If you're looking for a wedding/event option that's affordable, classy, and low-stress, MWT is the spot.

Lauren at The Charles Baltimore did an amazing job putting together a perfect rehearsal dinner for us! I to,d her the theme and colors of my wedding and she made the upstairs room look so nice! She had personalized menus made and place signs at the bar with our wedding hashtag. The food was amazing and everyone loved it! It was the perfect space for a rehearsal dinner and we would absolutely recommend using it for any other private event!!!

This Venue was ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING I COULD ASK FOR. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOUISIANA RESTAURANT AND EVERYONE OF MY GUEST LOVED IT TOO AND THE FOOD WAS AMAZING THE OWNER MAX IS A WONDERFUL PERSON TO WORK WITH I LOVE HIM AND WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO EVERYONE!!!!!!

A few hiccups at check-in where rooms were not ready but everything else was good.

I want to say thank you for being beyond excellent for my wedding reception. We were so happy and could have not been more pleased with how everything turned out. Our initial wedding reception location did not work out, and we were so fortunate enough to have your restaurant available two weeks before the big day. I heard that Liz no longer works with you, but she was great and was so professional and nice with every single detail of our wedding. You really made everything special by the smaller details that were incorporated into the reception such as the seating cards, seating chart, table set up, and cake table. My husband and I were so impressed by the level of customer service and attention we received. We were impressed at how enthusiastic our server was, and how experienced our bartender was. The food was beyond excellent. Everything melted in our mouth, and all of our guests really enjoyed the lunch and open bar. The veranda was a nice touch and unexpected lovely addition for the cocktail hour. We were thoroughly impressed by the level of service we received for our wedding reception, and although we went $2400 over our initial food budget, it was definitely worth it, and we have absolutely no regrets! I suppose the only thing that made me sad was that I was so busy entertaining guest, that I never had a chance to finish my lunch and forgot to grab it when we left—so technically I only had appetizers and 2 bites of my entrée. But, thanks again—perhaps we may be able to finish that lunch one day soon.

Akbar catered both days of my two day wedding. I used Akbar in Baltimore and then also the restaurant in Columbia, MD (both owned by the same person). Akbar was SO flexible and accomodating for both days. For our Sunday wedding we actually had to scramble last minute for a caterer and Akbar gave us a tasting and finalized a menu all within 2 weeks. They were AMAZING to work with and the food was sooooo delicious. My family is American (and picky about what they eat), but every single person raved about the vegetarian Indian food we served both days. My husband and I plan to frequent the restaurant all the time now that we know the quality of food. We would recommend Akbar to anyone needing an Indian caterer.

Michael and Julie at Carrabbas on Belair road in Overlea were great to work with when we planned our rehearsal dinner. We had no idea that Carrabbas did special events and catering but thanks to Michael, we are sold now. After discussing our menu choices and coming up with a menu that fit within our budget, everything went into autopilot and Julie took care of everything else. They made us our own personalized menu that our guest could choose from that had our name and wedding date at the top. The food was just as good if not better than we have had when dinning there on numerous occasions. They provide ample wait staff and attention to service. We could not have asked for a better evening. I do want to note that we had our rehearsal on a Thursday night which certainly helped our experience. If you plan to try booking an event on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday evening, you may not have the same results because we all know how busy Carrabbas is on the weekends.

The Wine Market Bistro was the perfect spot for our rehearsal dinner! There were a total of 32 people in attendance, and their private room was perfect for a group of our size. Our guests had a choice of pre-selected appetizers, entrees and desserts, and they worked within our price point for wine and beer selections. Their staff could not have been nicer and the food was delicious! There is also a large parking lot, with free parking, which is always a plus!

We just had our Thursday night wedding (ceremony and reception!) at Barcocina and Jackie, CJ, and Shane made the whole planning process a breeze. They were quick to respond to questions and so helpful in making decisions and assisting with day-of set-up. The service staff the night-of were also extremely professional, kind, and a wonderful addition to the night. Our guests raved over the food (no surprise there) and they were very accommodating to our guests with dietary restrictions. The space and backdrop are beautiful in their own right so if you’re looking for a venue that requires very little decoration, Barcocina should be on your list! We could not be happier with our venue choice and would absolutely host another event here in the future. We can’t thank the Barcocina team enough for such an amazing night!
