I fell in love with the Women’s Club of Evanston the moment I walked in for a tour. It is a gorgeous old mansion with deep roots; the manager (Gretchen) is kind, reliable, and so easy to work with; the preferred caterer we used (Catering by Michaels) was raved about by our guests; and the gift of bringing your own alcohol was huge. Our guests kept commenting on the uniqueness of the space, how great it was to have a pianist playing during our cocktail hour on the first floor, and how joyful and bright the ballroom looked. It was honestly beyond anything I imagined. A few extra things of note – our guests stayed at the Graduate Evanston which is barely a block away (no shuttles needed!); there is a huge parking garage across the street so nobody was looking for parking; and have I mentioned how beautiful the space is? I wish I had a reason to throw a huge event again – I would go back to the Women’s Club every time. Huge thank you to Gretchen and her team! Also, the cost was very reasonable compared to other venues!

Our wedding at the Hilton Orrington was truly everything I dreamed of and more. From the very beginning, working with Maureen was a gift. She brought so much warmth, experience, and calm to the process- everything felt easy, organized, and stress-free. I always felt like we were in the best hands, and that confidence allowed us to actually enjoy the planning instead of worrying about it. The wedding day itself was perfect. I wouldn’t have changed a thing. It felt effortless- vendors worked together beautifully, the timeline flowed naturally, and our guests were able to relax and enjoy every moment. Having everyone stay at the hotel made the whole weekend feel connected and celebratory, like we were all part of one big family gathering. And the food! It was just as amazing as it was at our tasting... maybe even better. We had so many guests tell us it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had, and the compliments kept coming all night. We will always be grateful for Maureen and the entire Orrington team for making our dream wedding come to life. It was truly the most special day, and we couldn’t be happier that we chose this venue to start our marriage.

I would highly recommend the Crystal Ballroom to any couple planning their wedding. My husband and I recently held our reception here and we were so happy with how everything turned out! Jessica was so helpful throughout every step of the planning process, and on the day of our wedding she coordinated with all of our vendors to make sure that everything ran smoothly. The entire Crystal Ballroom staff went above and beyond to make sure the room was set up beautifully, and the dinner, hors d’oeuvres, and drinks were all top notch! Our guests had so much fun and so did we!! Some other features that we liked about having our wedding at the Crystal Ballroom: -The cake is included in the price & is made by a bakery in Northbrook, The Baking Institute. (You can do a separate, private tasting beforehand to choose the flavor and they will decorate it any way that you would like). Our cake turned out beautifully and tasted so good too! -The Crystal Ballroom has a beautiful bridal suite on site, which was the perfect space for me and my bridesmaids to get ready on the morning of the wedding! -There is a very cute bar/lounge area located off the side of the ballroom, which really makes the event space feel more spacious. Guests can go there during the wedding to get drinks and relax off to the side, keeping the dance floor open!
