Redfield Estate combines the beauty of nature and history nestled on the grounds of The Grove Nature Preserve - a 150+ acre National Historic Landmark on Chicago's North Shore. Capacity up to 120 guests May - October, and 50 - 100 guests November - April. Rental rates are $650 - $4,350 + based on date and time.
Private rentals include: the vintage 1920's home with original windows, fireplace and dressing rooms; a covered outdoor pavilion seating up to 120 with dimmable lighting, a stone fireplace, electric window shades, and bistro lights twinkling above in the trees. Manicured grounds with an abundance of seasonally filled urns surround the estate, and a gazebo tucked into the forest is perfect for ceremonies. Tables, chairs, and free parking are included.
Catering: Choose from eight contracted catering companies to assist you with planning your event, including your menu, bar, service staff, linen, all necessary equipment to produce your event, and complete ceremony and reception setup/breakdown. Full service catering is required. Catering averages $120-$160 + per person in addition to the rental fee.

Stunning, timeless wedding venue!!
From the moment we toured, we were captivated by the landscape which includes a massive main lawn, towering oak tree, secluded gazebo, multiple ponds, and flowering gardens… not to mention the historic mansion which is in pristine condition. It has been preserved and renovated with great care by the Redfield Estate caretakers, including our main point of contact Deborah. Deborah was organized and communicative. Working with her felt like getting a bonus extra wedding planner, because of her strong relationships with our caterer and wine provider, who had served dozens of weddings at Redfield Estate and literally had her on speed dial. The staff on our wedding day were equally wonderful, giving us a stress-free day.
We held our ceremony under the gazebo, surrounded by greenery and light (our photographer loved the venue for this!). It felt like we were in a fairytale. The Pavilion and main lawn were perfect for the reception, and our guests were delighted with the natural and garden-like setting. For example, a baby deer crossed the lawn at one point and at night there were more fireflies than I have ever seen in my life. We are beyond grateful to have found such a perfect venue for our wedding. Redfield Estate exceeded all our expectations and created memories that we will cherish forever.

One of the most magical places a couple can host their wedding reception (and ceremony)! We simply love the Grove and all it has to offer. From their sprawling acres with winding creeks, a stone gazebo perfect for photos, benches scattered for guests to simply sit and take in all the scenery, to a gorgeous pavilion with a roaring fireplace. We love everything that the Grove has to offer. If you are hosting a more intimate affair, we definitely suggest you take a walk around the grounds and let your imagination run wild with all the possibilities for your special event. Carol is a delight to work with and their caterer options are top in the industry! We look forward to working with you again soon Carol!
The staff at the Redfield estate is very friendly and dedicated and contributes to make a wedding at the Grove a very enjoyable experience. From the main coordinator to the bartender, every person at the Refield estate was very welcoming. The location is the perfect setting for an outdoor wedding but provides nice alternatives when the weather is not on your side. I liked the opportunity to walk in the gardens and to explore the woods while photographing my clients, all within a couple minutes from the main buildings. The atmosphere is very relaxed and exotic and put this little gem of a venue in a category of its own.
The Redfield Estate at the Grove is an extraordinary setting for a wedding, especially a summer affair. There's plenty of space for an elegant, intimate outdoor ceremony on the lawn, and the option of dining and dancing inside the mansion itself or in the outdoor pavilion. The Chicago wedding DJ professionals of Fourth Estate Audio are frequent performers at the Redfield Estate, and we appreciate the attentiveness of the staff to client, guest and vendor alike.
