The location was amazing and Elizabeth was very helpful with many parts of making things perfect. The grounds and building for the reception were great. Can't say enough thanks to them for letting us have our wedding there

Wilton is a beautiful place to get married, if the weather cooperates. Our weather was great, but I would have hated to be in the tiny dependency building that they have.
In the contract, they say you can't have music outside, but our DJ was rocking all night. It was no problem.
Beautiful venue. A bit pricey.

You really can't beat the deal for use of their lawn and dependency - $2,500 for two nights. They allowed us to store our Thursday night rentals in the dependency for use on Saturday (thus avoiding a double rental fee from the rental company).
Where the issues come is that there is very little "fix up" from previous weddings. There was a reception the weekend before that killed the grass in one area of the lawn and the response was, essentially, "too bad."
They then told us we could come back on Sunday to pick up any leftover food and beverages, and the rental company could come, too..... and then no one was there to let us in the dependency to get our stuff. Their response, once again, was "too bad," telling us to try again tomorrow.
The main building is a museum and the caretakers/curators there just seemed annoyed that they had to deal with wedding people.
I would still recommend, but prepare yourself for that and stay on top of them when they give you days/times to do things.

First off, this place was both gorgeous and cheap, so right there it gets high marks. The administration was definitely hard to track down and not easy to get answers from. We were also a little worried about all of the different rules and bylaws of the Colonial Dames of America, who own the property, but on the day of the wedding, the woman that runs Wilton House for them was chill, flexible, and out of the way. Overall, I'm thrilled with my choice and couldn't imagine my wedding anywhere else.
