We used the Montpelier Center as the reception venue for our New Years Eve wedding. This venue may be a little bit of a drive for some, but the overall environmental aesthetics, affordability, and their willingness to accommodate your event needs makes it all well worth the drive. When we first went to the Montpelier Center to discuss our [we thought at the time] somewhat crazy idea of having a NYE wedding, they were nothing but excited at this potential wedding event. Theresa, the current events coordinator, was flexible and revised the traditional event contract to allow us to continue our reception past the typical "must leave by" time due to it being NYE. Also, they accommodated our decorating needs to allow us to start setting up the space two days before the event! Now of course, depending on the time of year and day of your reception, you may not be able to get the same accommodations we received, but I share this to demonstrate just how friendly and responsive Theresa is to try to ensure that the space meets your event and set-up needs. It's beautiful, affordable, flexible, and is just lovely overall. We took all first look and wedding party pictures outside the center (where in warmer weather you could have your ceremony) before our church ceremony not far away, and they turned out beautifully. I highly recommend this venue.

This venue was absolutely amazing! Our reception was held here (the ceremony was at a church nearby). The staff was wonderful and extremely helpful, and the outside gardens are gorgeous. You can't beat this venue for the money.

The place was beautiful! You get so much for your money at this place. The staff is also so friendly. There was so much space for our guest. All the open space and windows made everything so nice. It was easy to get around and see everyone. The stage was perfect for our DJ. The dance floor was great. There is a nice kitchen space and dance studio. We also used a tv room for all the kids to hang out in. 12 hours of rental time and all the chairs and tables included. We paid under $2,000.00. Our guest loved this place.

The staff at The Center was great to work with. They were quick to change my package when I requested a different one late in the game. The site was lovely with plenty of place and nice clean facilities. The only issue I have is that they operate on some very strange hours which made it difficult to reach them at times.

Everyone at the Montpelier Center was great to me and my husband. They were very flexible with letting us come in and look over the place. My Caterer was provided from the Venue and she was fabulous. I would recommend this venue to anyone having a wedding in the area.

First I will say that I absolutely loved this venue. The location is quite beautiful, the ballroom with all the windows is gorgeous, the "dance studio" which we used as our ceremony location was well lit and airy. It was the perfect venue for the type of wedding (simple elegant) that we were going for. Walking in the back doors (closest to the parking lot) it is unimpressive until you get into the main ballroom. The value is good for a venue of that size, however the location is a little out-of-the-way which makes the price make sense (Montpelier is about 20 minutes away from the closest hotels). The only minor issues I had were with management. From the time I booked to the time of the wedding (less than 10 months) there were 3 different office managers/executive directors that I was in contact with. As a result of all of this turnaround (and some of them apparently not knowing how to read email chains) there was some confusion and lack of communication between employees. Such as how someone in the office (assistant director maybe?) forgot to tell the events coordinator that I had a rehearsal the night before our wedding, so we got there and the doors to the ceremony room were locked. The issue was resolved quickly thanks to some library employees still being there and able to call someone, but it was quite frustrating that all necessary employees were not made aware of all scheduled events. The events coordinator was also not made aware of the floor plan that I had sent to the director/managers email a week or two prior to the wedding, so the morning of the wedding I had to search through my emails on my phone and find the image so he would know how to set the place up. This information should have been given to him by the director. So, I know this looks like a lot of negative, but really the day turned out perfect in the end. There was some lack of communication between employees, but all issues were resolved very quickly. I would still recommend this venue to others because it is very beautiful. I hope my situation was the exception rather than the rule, and other brides just may want to clarify in their emails to the director that Herbert (events coordinator) knows of all rehearsals and floor plans.
