We had our barn wedding at William Allen Farm and the wedding was absolutely beautiful. Of note, the ownership changed over in 2020 or so and is now under Kate Samson. Kate and her family are wonderful to work with and was always available and communicative throughout the planning process. You get the barn for the entire weekend- so we had our rehearsal dinner on site as well and we utilized the bridal suite for hair and makeup all day on the wedding day. The property is spacious and there are a lot of areas for the ceremony to make it unique. Kate was very flexible with letting us come early on site on Friday to set up and clean up Sunday. We hired their coordinator Ashlea, who exclusively works was WAF, whom I strongly recommend as she was instrumental in advising us where to set up our ceremony, how to set up the tables, etc etc. Of note, Kate offers clean up for an additional fee, which we did not utilize, but you may consider as it really makes things a lot easier. Like all barn weddings, you have to rent and bring everything on site; though for us this meant we got to set it up the way we want and really allow our creative vision to come to life. Overall the barn is gorgeous and beautiful, the property allows for a beautiful ceremony, and Kate is very easy to work with and a wonderful partner in creating your perfect wedding!

William Allen was the PERFECT venue for our October 30th wedding! It was an absolutely gorgeous "blank slate", where we had use of the entire property and were able to bring in the best vendor team, with Kate's guidance and help. The flexibility was amazing, and Kate and Jim made sure everything went smoothly on the big day. Despite the pouring rain, our guests from all over the country RAVED about the wedding and the venue's beauty.

William Allen Farm was the perfect venue for our wedding weekend! The barn is stunning and has so much character. The property was the perfect backdrop for all of the festivities and our photos looked amazing. We were married in early November, and were worried about it being too cold. We had nothing to worry about. The barn has an amazing heating system that kept everyone at a great temperature. The bridal suite is beautiful and huge. Heidi and Al were incredibly helpful during the planning process and during the wedding weekend. We really couldn’t imagine getting married any place else!

My husband and I were married at William Allen Farm on September 7, 2019. Not only was it the most gorgeous backdrop for our ceremony and reception, but Heidi was such a wonderful person to work with. From the very start we knew we were in great hands with Heidi and WAF. Most of our vendors had worked there before with nothing but glowing reviews. It was so nice to be married at an established venue and with Heidi’s expertise. The bridal suite and bathroom amenities were above any other Maine barn venue and our guests were happy and impressed. If I had to do it all over again Heidi and WAF would be our first pick again.

The William Allen Farm was the first and only venue we visited. We knew immediately that this was the place for our big day, not just because of the beautiful barn and grounds, but because of how wonderful Heidi and Allen are. Unbelievably responsive, welcoming, and truly cared about our experience. Our wedding day was absolutely perfect with amazing fall foliage. The barn was beautiful, rustic yet still very elegant with the chandeliers and rented drapes. Every space and piece of the property came into play. The groomsman enjoyed drinks up in the loft pre-ceremony, we had cocktail hour with cornhole and then a fire pit on the grounds, the woods further out made a perfect backdrop for an intimate photo shoot, and obviously the barn itself was great for dinner and dancing. Our guests are still talking about it!!!

My husband and I had our wedding reception at this beautiful property this summer. We were so lucky to be able to work with Heidi and Allen (the owners). They were gracious and helpful throughout the entire planning. Heidi is always available when a question arises. The property itself is so well maintained and a perfect place for your wedding photos. We had the most incredible reception thanks to them and their wonderful property!

When we first stepped onto the property at William Allen Farm and spoke with the owners Heidi and Al we knew that it was the perfect place to have our wedding. The barn is spacious with a new dancing floor and a loft area. We were married on September 21st with 150 guests and we had enough space to have a seated dinner, a kids activity table in the back of the barn, and the DJ in the loft to help create a larger dance floor. The bar is built into the barn and can be used during an outside cocktail hour as well as an inside reception. The grounds are beautiful – perfectly manicured with multiple spaces to have your ceremony on site. Since there is a sound ordnance, everyone must be off the property at 10PM, which was OK for our guests since we started at 3:30 and anyone who wanted to go out took the shuttle back to hotels and bars in Portland. I would recommend this place for any couple looking to have an outdoor Maine wedding, but with a classic barn vibe. Overall, it was a great experience for everyone!

Heidi and Al went above and beyond for us during our wedding and while we were planning. We are incredibly grateful for their beautiful space and steadfast presence. It was 95 degrees with 69% humidity on my day but Heidi and Al did everything they could to cool us down and it was STILL beautiful and everyone still enjoyed themselves immensely. Would absolutely recommend.

Where to begin?! Heidi and Al are two of the kindest, most reliable, warm and considerate people I have ever met. Everything about the barn (from the setting, the location, their property) to them (their patience and communication and compassion) made this wedding a dream. When we first booked the farm, we didn't know that we would be moving to Los Angeles shortly after that. Despite the 3,000 miles and time difference, the wedding went off without a hitch and so much of that had to do with the incredible commitment that Heidi and Al have to making each wedding amazing. We cannot begin to recommend this venue enough!

We were lucky enough to secure William Allen Farm for our September 2018 wedding. The space is absolutely gorgeous and it has a rustic feel without being shabby. The expansive grounds made for some truly beautiful photos in front of the flower gardens and pond. Heidi and Al were so helpful throughout the whole process. Heidi was quick to answer what felt like the hundreds of questions we had leading up to our day and was so great day-of. The on-site bathrooms were always neat and clean, and bridal suite was such a fun place to get ready, and there was more than enough parking for our wedding of 100. We would definitely pick this venue every time!
