WGF Events, LLC, is a wedding ceremony and reception venue in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, that resides on 170 acres of woodlands and is just 90 miles outside of Washington, DC. The rolling hills provide the perfect backdrop to your weekend at this intimate country venue. The Shepherd family founded and maintained the WGF property, seeing it through three periods of construction that resulted in a merging of architectural styles. Although the farm has changed hands multiple times since the 1940s, you’re guaranteed to experience the original character.

Facilities and Capacity

WGF Events, LLC, can accommodate up to 200 guests throughout their two event spaces. This historic venue has a beautiful collection of buildings, including a stone smoke/meat house, a Greek Revival-inspired springhouse, a wooden chicken coop, and a brick ice shed. They’re all connected by a network of roadways and stone walls.

The restored Gala Barn completes the rustic vibe of the grounds, perfect for couples who desire a more historic location as the backdrop for their day. The upper level has a soaring beam structure full of natural lighting and can be arranged to accommodate a variety of layouts, like guest seating, dancing, and live music. Four large HVAC units are hidden in large wooden bins to preserve the rustic feel of the space, and there are two rooms for the wedding party to prepare. One of them features wooden screens, antique furniture, and full-length mirrors. The lower level of the barn features newly painted walls, fixtures, floral displays, and furniture that resembles the uniqueness of New Orleans.
