WGF Events, LLC, is a wedding ceremony and reception venue in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, that resides on 170 acres of woodlands and is just 90 miles outside of Washington DC. The rolling hills provide the perfect backdrop to your weekend at this intimate, country venue. The Shepherd family founded and maintained the WGF property, seeing it through three periods of construction that resulted in a merging of architectural styles. Although the farm has changed hands multiple times since the 1940s, you’re guaranteed to experience the original character.
Facilities and Capacity
WGF Events, LLC, can accommodate up to 200 guests throughout their two events spaces. This historic venue has a beautiful collection of buildings, including a stone smoke/meat house, a Greek Revival-inspired springhouse, a wooden chicken coop, and a brick ice shed. They’re all connected with a network of roadways and stone walls.
The restored Gala Barn completes the rustic vibe of the grounds, perfect for couples who desire a more historic location as the backdrop for their day. The upper level has a soaring beam structure full of natural lighting and can be arranged to accommodate a variety of layouts, like guest seating, dancing, and live music. Four large HVAC units are hidden in large woodens bins to preserve the rustic feel of the space, and there are two rooms for the wedding party to prepare in. One of them features wooden screens, antique furniture, and full-length mirrors. The lower level of the barn features newly painted walls, fixtures, floral displays, and furniture that resembles the uniqueness of New Orleans.
WGF Events, LLC, is wheelchair accessible and has ample parking for you and your guests. WGF is able to provide couples space for bridal showers, ceremonies, engagement parties, and receptions. Event services include a bridal suite, clean-up, event rentals, in-house catering, outside vendors, set-up, and wireless internet. Couples have the option to rent altars, arches, chairs, furniture, and tables for their event.

Love the Venue!
Just wanted to provide you on our prospective of our wedding this weekend. It was fabulous! The grounds are beautiful, the guests loved the atmosphere and the barn was so cool even with the temperature in the 90’s. And an added beauty was the horses next door. They loved having their pictures taken with the bride & groom and the family/guest.
Anthony is an asset to your property! Everyone who encountered Anthony and interacted with him was so impressed especially with his hospitality and stories about the Farm. He represents your venue with excellence! We enjoyed working with him!

The perfect pandemic wedding.
With the pandemic postponing our wedding by a month, the owners of Wild Goose Farm were beyond helpful as me and my husband navigated such a difficult time. In the end we were able to throw a perfect wedding. I would recommend this venue to any bride!Sent on 09/08/2020

Perfect spot for a DIY wedding
We recently hosted our 170 person wedding in early November at Wild Goose, and found it to be a perfect venue for a DIY style wedding. First of all, there are so many picturesque places on the property for the actual ceremony, it was hard to choose. Secondly, the barn is gorgeous and practically stands on its own without much additional decorations - providing a great rain backup. Having access to the venue most of the day Friday and all day Saturday really gave us enough time to make the space our own and set up exactly how we wanted. Because our wedding was large and the weather was chilly, we rented a heated tent and stood it up right next to the barn doors to create more space for guests and caterers. On Sunday we were able to host a brunch back and the barn and clean up. The ability to buy our own alcohol (you still need to have legal bartenders) saved us a lot of money. Also, they have a great list of caterers and rental companies that can help with providing everything you need. And lastly, the caretaker is so wonderful to work with - both before and during the event, he is warm, inviting, communicative, and responsive. Having him there to answer questions and help out with the space really helped make the weekend easier. He was even able to make friends with some of the guests. It's really a great venue - not too far from DC / Dulles, a very fair price, beautiful, in a great small town. We would definitely get married there again (though hopefully won't have to).Sent on 12/09/2019
