The Revel Rose is a full- service wedding planning and event design workshop based in Northern Michigan and prepared to serve individuals, couples, and families in the Midwest and beyond. Creating illustrious experiences that outlast a day and allow you to relive them over and over through your oved ones collective memory is what we strive to offer.

With a focus on re-imagining timeless traditions, bringing cultural and ancestral customs out to play, and doing it all with a sense of evolving and approachable style, The Revel Rose seeks to be the behind the scene presence ensuring that graciousness and warm hospitality are always a part of your life's most important celebrations.

ABOUT THE OWNER

Kendall Rose is owner and creative director of The Revel Rose. Born and raised in a suburb of Detroit, she found herself moving ever west and north after college where she earned degrees in geography and anthropology and then worked for private, public, and non-profit entities building a career in sustainable urban and rural community planning. She honed her skills in community engagement and civic planning, where she learned the value of creating experiences that make lasting impressions and influence change. Somewhere along the way she met Ryan Rose and he was infinitely better than any other plans she had ever made. They moved way south then way north as she worked for the National Park Service and ended up in Leelanau County where she had spent summers camping and visiting her great aunts on Big Glen Lake.

While working with a Leelanau County based catering team during her first summer up north she became encouraged by the entrepreneurial spirit and creative freedom found in Northern Michigan, and admired the family-oriented Midwest charm of the hospitality of such events, and started building The Revel Rose.

Bringing her background in community event planning, the hospitality industry, graphic design and visual arts, while being a self-declared ambassador of Northern Michigan and all it has to offer, she hopes to create deeply meaningful and unique experiences for people in all stages of life's celebrations.

ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE

Kendall launched The Revel Rose shortly after her own wedding in Northern Michigan in October 2017. She was inspired to reach out to couples like her; those who were a bit lost in the traditional wedding world, who have a specific vision for their day and want to be connected to the best people to carry that vision through, and who may be doing things a little differently.

We are lucky enough to be surrounded by an incredibly collaborative community of wedding professionals in Northern Michigan, including a richly diverse & experienced group of wedding planners! There is a planner for everyone and every wedding, and The Revel Rose prides itself on three area of emphasis that we hope connect us with our ideal couples:

-We value the small business community and the ways in which the wedding industry can support historic and cultural venues, artists, makers, entertainers, and other small business owners! We spend a lot of time cultivating vendor relationships and offering you our very best recommendations, and hope you are inspired by our local entreprenurial spirit as well while planning your wedding.

-We value the pristine beauty of the Great Lakes and our up north living, and want our weddings to be a reflection of environmental awareness and sustainability. As a result, we prioritize working with couples who are interested in hosting a minimal waste event, and sourcing their wedding provisions from as local as possible, while working with our preferred catering & waste specialist teams to make that possible.

-Non-traditional is our jam. You won't have to spend a lot of time trying to explain that special ritual you have with your partner, feeling strange about the role your cultural and heritage customs have in your special day, or justifying why having a Tuesday wedding is what you want. We're here for the quirky, weird, wonderful things that set you apart and define the experience of you, being in love.
