Kendall was an absolute dream to work with. We got married in Detroit and she is based out of Northern Michigan, so communication was key. She was easy to get in touch with through emails and calls. We were really looking for someone to help us bring our wedding ideas to life and Kendall's design proposal was incredible! There was a lot of collaboration between us and her and I think she really nailed the vision. As we got closer to the date, she kept us on track by finding and communication with vendors and making sure we were making all the decisions we needed to. By the time we got to the wedding day, we were so relaxed because we knew we were in great hands. The day went off without a hitch and we could not have asked for a better person to be there with us. For anyone looking for a planner, you won't find anyone as fun, organized, or supportive as Kendall! She is the truly the best! -

Best Investment Ever
Working with Kendall was the best decision my husband and I made for our wedding (besides choosing each other)! She guided us expertly through the entire process and planned and orchestrated the perfect wedding with grace. I was out perfectionisted and my mindshare was totally freed up by working with Kendall. Her services were worth double what she charges.
My husband and I got married on June 31, 2022 on Lake Leelanau with 14 members of our family and friends. We had a champagne wedding on a beer budget. We said our vows at the historic Fountain Point Resort + took pontoon boats up the river to a beautiful dinner.
It sounds simple, right? Like why on earth would anyone pay to organize a little event for 16 people? I never thought I would spend any bit of our small budget on a wedding planner, but it turned out to be the BEST decision ever. Here's why you should also consider working with her:
Kendall is an expert. She knows so many people and so many things. If she doesn't know, she knows someone who knows. Kendall hooked us up with literally every single one of our vendors and they were all absolutely incredible. Like the best of the best.
We got married on Lake Leelanau and Kendall had recs on activities, charcuterie boards, and even stores to buy our parents gifts. The owner of the shop she recommended we visit (and everyone else we bumped into) RAVED about Kendall. She knows her stuff. In fact, she knows stuff we didn't even know to know.
Kendall will be your biggest advocate. I was struggling to write my vows (everything was feeling forced) and instead of turning to my incredible, very eager-to-help family - I went to Kendall on the day of the wedding. She's seen everything and was such a safe place throughout the whole process. She encouraged me to take some space, put my feet in the water, and everything I wanted to say just flowed out of me.
She will go above + beyond for you. A personalized cake ended up being out of our budget, but a day before our event I got a text asking if I liked raspberry (I did), and lo and behold we had a little cake on our big day.
I truly cannot recommend Kendall highly enough. -

I don’t even know where to begin because thank you doesn’t cover it in the slightest. Kendall is such an incredible wedding planner. My wedding day was the most insane, perfect, beautiful seamless, incredible day. I truly don’t know how she does it. She was so calm, and helped me stay calm. She got everything done, hearding all the vendors, wedding party, guests, etc. while remaining calm and being kind to everyone. Her assistant was also just so lovely and such a bright light. From the start Kendall just completely understand my vision and what I wanted. She took my vision to the next level and helped me hire all the perfect vendors to make our vision come to life. She is truly an artist and the design and decor that she curated for my day was out of this world. She has such great relationships with some of the best professionals in this industry. I hired a planner because I wanted to be involved in all the fun parts of planning a wedding, but didn’t want to deal with the logistics, contracts, budgeting etc. Kendall was a godsend and took everything off my plate so I could just enjoy myself. I highly recommend Kendall if you’re looking for a design professional who will take your event to the next level. She thought of everything- down to every last detail. She’s also hilarious and the whole time I felt like I was planning my wedding with my best friend. -

I am so glad that we were able to work with Kendall for our wedding coordination and day-of planning. Kendall is so knowledgeable about the way weddings work and helped immensely when sorting through all the logistics, not to mention that she has such a keen sense of style and just helped us make decisions that played out so beautifully on the day of. It was so wonderful to have someone coordinating everything on the day of, ensuring that we were able to enjoy our celebration without being in charge of the timeline or teardown. I also greatly appreciate Kendall's focus on minimizing waste and was glad to have her thoughtfulness in this area. From sourcing dinnerware and compostables for after the catering team wrapped up dishes, to her recommendation to hire a local waste and recycling service to take care of composting and cleanup, her recommendations were incredible. When possible, I always recommend to friends or clients (I work in the wedding industry as a photographer) to hire a wedding planner/day-of coordinator, but I'd go even further to say that if possible, make sure that point person is Kendall. She'll make sure that your day is stylish and reflects who you are, while also helping to source vendors and services that reduce the overall impact of your event. I am so grateful we were able to work with her. -

To be upfront, I will never be able to fully capture the greatness that is Kendall (and her team) in a review. Kendall is talented in SO many different ways. Throughout the entire wedding planning process I constantly found myself in awe of her - she is intelligent, confident, organized, thoughtful, creative, practical, genuine and freaking FUN! We were originally in contact with Kendall as we were planning a Northern MI wedding, and long story short things fell through and we ended up having our wedding in Southwest MI. I crossed my d*mn fingers that Kendall would be able to travel and be our wedding planner, and let me tell you she delivered in every single way possible! On the day of our wedding, I had literally nothing to worry about because I knew Kendall had it all under control. Following the wedding, my parents continued to comment on Kendall and how seamless and beautiful the wedding was. Knowing my parents (and in-laws) had the best time at their only daughter's wedding meant everything to me.
Kendall also designed the paper goods for our wedding and I had friends reaching out to me asking what typeface were on the invites. They were real good! 10/10 recommend this service as well.
Kendall and the Revel Rose Team, you're amazing and I can say with 100% confidence that we would not have been able to do it without you. I hope our paths cross again! -

I cannot begin to say enough amazing things about Kendall. I hired her for her month-of service package, and I have ZERO regrets. Kendall is the planner and the celebration. The realist and the dreamer. Her goal is to make sure your event runs smoothly behind-the-scenes, but she also is deeply invested in making sure you and your significant other have the most amazing time of your lives. She brings an energy and calmness to the chaos that is event planning that I am forever thankful for. I don’t know what our wedding and reception would have looked like without her help, but I’m so thankful we’ll never have to know. And did I mention how design savvy she is?! I would bring an idea to her (that I didn't even have fully thought out), and she would run with it and bring it to life with the end result 100x better than what I could have ever imagined. So if you want someone who is authentic, fun, and SUPER TALENTED, hire Kendall. You won't regret it. -

Hire this girl!!!!
Kendall couldn't have done a better job as our month-of coordinator. Our wedding was at my parent's house and I knew I needed someone to be there to herd the many cats in my family. Kendall did the job with (what seemed like) total ease. I swear I'm not overstating this - I felt basically zero stress on my wedding day because I knew she had things covered.
Not only did she keep up organized, she truly added to the experience with her personality, wit, and awesome restaurant recommendations. Having her at our wedding was a joy. She truly felt like just another bud there for the party (but was working her ass off the entire time). Kendall is smart, talented, gracious and fun. You would be crazy to hire someone else!!! -

Kendall and her team were wonderful to work with. I had a custom package that included month-of coordination and monthly email check-ins and a site visit. We used the site visit to check out the venue and she surprised me by suggesting linen colors when I admitted I was at a loss. That’s just one example of her going above and beyond. The email check-ins were so grounding and helpful. As for the wedding day, I wouldn’t even be able to list all of the things her team accomplished because I only remember being gently guided toward each event by her calm voice. I didn’t have to worry about a thing! I know that a fraction of her wedding day tasks (with her equally awesome assistant) included coordinating with the florist and venue managers, managing guest seating at the ceremony, assisting set up and tear down (everything was placed where I wanted it- we had discussed it briefly the day before and she nailed it), bustling my dress, ironing napkins (it’s a long story!), fixing groomsmen pocket squares while I was hidden in the bridal suite, and just overall keeping me calm. I SO wish I could’ve also hired her for design, because this lady is talented and creative (just check out her insta!) and she’s so knowledgeable about vendors in the Traverse area, but it wasn’t in my budget. If we ever do a vow renewal, she’s going to be the first one I call for full planning and design! (Picture by Oden+Janelle Photographers) -

I have had the pleasure of working with Kendall on a few different events. Two times as a fellow vendor for one of her fully planned weddings, and once I hired her to be an event coordinator for a wedding hosted at our property (and you can read Danielle Miller's 5 star review above)
As a fellow vendor I really can't give her enough accolades! She is organized, goes above and beyond to make sure that clients/guests/and vendors needs are met, and has a plan for absolutely everything that may last minute pop up. She is communicative, efficient, and amazing at creating beauty wherever she goes.
She is by far one of my favorite planners to collaborate with and I'm fairly certain that I speak for fellow vendors when I say that.

The perfect experience and fit for me!
I can’t say enough about Kendall and the Revel Rose! She went above and beyond in every aspect of our day and made it truly us, which was the most important thing for my husband and me. She listened and created a design that spoke to who we were and our guests noticed. Kendall was patient, available, grounding, a level head, creative and everything we needed. Kendall was absolutely the most critical component of our wedding's success. She is honest, passionate, creative, phenomenal at what she does, and just an all around amazing human being. She guided us through every step of the process and handled every piece of our planning with the utmost professionalism (while also making it FUN)! Choosing Kendall was hands down the best decision we made. From her expertise in all things/vendors in Northern Michigan to her incredible staff, she will ensure your special day goes off without a hitch. Kendall is thorough, direct, has great attention to detail, and she always follows up and follows through. She know what she's doing and will get it done (or be upfront with you when you need a backup plan or if something my not meet your expectations). She literally made our dreams come true and brought our vision to life. Anyone who chooses to work with Kendall is sure to have the most magical wedding of their lives!

Quit over disagreements and shamed us on her business instagram
We were supposed to be one of Kendall's first weddings. Our relationship with Kendall was a bit fraught from the start. We hired Kendall back in early 2018 for a Partial Planning package for our July of 2018 wedding. Kendall had what we viewed as very reasonable rates compared to other vendors at $3000 for such a service, although I believe Kendall and us both learned they were much too low for the amount of work she was undertaking, as she has increased her prices accordingly on her website (she now starts at $3500 for this service, but I assume would have charged us more for the amount of work still needed on our wedding). This will manifest itself as a clear problem later.
Our initial interactions with Kendall were completely pleasant, although we had concerns about professionalism. Kendall was a bit loose with sexual references and innuendos in her business communications for our liking (we're generally not prudes, but it seemed like a fairly non-professional tone, which maybe was what she was trying to strike) with things like:
- Her away email describing being on vacation and making out with her attractive husband
- Making analogies to cunnilingus in an older post on her business instagram.
Then on our first call with her after we had placed a deposit, she video called us from her kitchen and her husband was visible at multiple points in the call walking naked to and from the shower (to clarify, I don't think this was in any way intentional, just careless). She also used her personal Venmo for business transactions which concerned us because it both:
A) Was a way for her to unethically avoid business transaction fees with a digital payment provider
B) Prevented us from having payment protection on our transaction with her
The big issues came with Food and Budgeting. When we initially started talking to Kendall, we had targeted a budget of around $20,000 for our wedding, that we were paying for with our own money (our parents had collectively given us a couple thousand dollars, but we were on the hook for the rest). Now, for the wedding we wanted, this was just too low of a budget. The problem is that in our initial calls, Kendall indicated that this was a healthy budget that she could work with and didn't really see any problems. Again, this will become a problem later.
Finding a caterer was a big problem for our wedding. We were in the middle of nowhere Michigan without great options for catering nearby. So one of our initial requests for Kendall was to help us find a caterer with a few specific requests (specifically, they had to have Gluten Free options since my wife has Celiac Disease). This proved really challenging. Kendall spent dozens of hours calling up places and trying to find someone who would do this. This ate up most of the time that Kendall had allotted to do our planning, and so she basically spent double the amount of time she believed she would have to in order to plan our wedding, likely causing her to feel short changed and underappreciated since she was now getting paid half as much an hour as she expected. Additionally, we were upset that it had taken so long and were getting concerned about other work that was getting pushed back in order to finish finding a caterer, likely causing her to feel additionally underappreciated.
After a month or two of Kendall struggling to find a food vendor, we reached out to my wife’s sister (the Maid of Honor) to help come up with some food options in the area. When Kendall came back to us with a finalized list of food options most of them were from this list. One of the places on our list was Chipotle, since it had special meaning in our dating life, so we decided to just make a few calls and arrange for Chipotle catering instead of going with a full fledged wedding caterer. This upset Kendall for a couple reasons,
1) After her spending all that time looking on food we had sidestepped her and just took care of it mostly on our own
2) We had picked a food option that would require us to hire serving staff (instead of one that provided serving staff).
She made it very clear that she would not do the food serving herself (which makes sense, although it came across as if she was accusing us of asking her to do so). So, then she suggested replacing our bartender that we had personally hired with a more expense bartending service that would not have helped us get the food to the destination.
Our original bartender had agreed to deliver food, do some food setup (but not all), and have a 2 person bar staff for about $50 an hour (a few hundred dollars over the course of the event, plus another $500 to hire people as wait staff that we were talking with). Kendall's recommendation came in around $1600
Now, at this point our $20,000 budget had already grown to about $35,000, since Kendall had underestimated the costs of various venders and expenses, and we really couldn't afford to add another unexpected $800 to the budget so close to the wedding. We had become upset that:
1 ) Kendall hadn't found us a food vendor and we had to go out on our own to do so
2) Kendall hadn't respected or understood our budget and/or the going rate for various wedding products/services and let our expenses balloon out of control
3) Kendall had seemed fine with our choice, when we initially told her we were just going to do Chipotle, but then a short while later sent us this information about bartending staff that seemed upset at us about the choice.
So I asked in an email if this was really a necessary change (to go to a professional service from our picks of various individuals), since we couldn't really afford it. Kendall, replied in an email that appeared upset telling us that this was a change we needed to make for our wedding to be successful, and suggested we forfeit deposits on things that weren't technically needed to make the wedding function, such as the band and videographer in order to use the remaining balance from those expenses towards the bartending service. My wife viewed this email as attacking me and sent a response back to Kendall letting her know that we were getting rather frustrated and were not okay with what she had said to me. I believe this went through one more back and forth before Kendall stopped replying for the weekend and on Monday sent us a notice of termination for our contract almost exactly one month before the wedding.
I'll note that Kendall did not refund us any of our 50% deposit (50% was for pre-planning, 50% was for week of coordination). Kendall stated that she went over the hours that 50% paid for, so she should not have to. We said that she hadn't fulfilled all the services promised in that 50% (there were still some vendors left to book and/or have additional communication with that was considered by Kendall to be a Planning Service and not a day-of service). Additionally, since Venmo, as said above, offered us no buyer protection since it was considered a personal transfer of funds, rather than a business transaction, we had no means of disputing the charge. Her contract was ambiguous in terms of how this situation should play out, so I'll leave this up to you as to decide if we were short changed or not.
Right after Kendall quit, she looked up the instagram accounts of my wife and myself and blocked us. We weren't following her at the time, so she expressly looked us up to make sure we couldn't see her posts. Then she made this post on her instagram: https://www.instagram.com/p/BkC5iA7HzQz/
Now, that post doesn't look that bad at this point. But it has been edited since the original post that we saw. What she said about us at the bottom of that post, which has since been removed, was the following:
"I'm Kendall Rose, this is my business. Respect is huge for me. I've never publicly said that because it sounds like the foundation of a narcissistic personality disorder. But, if you don't respect my line of work, we're done. If you think a wedding planner = your bitch, we're done. If you tell me not to worry, we're done. If you tell me this isn't rocket science, we're done. If you are rude and insulting, we're done. If you think your time is more important than mine, we're done. If you think your investment is greater than mine, we're done. If you think the customer is always right, and I'm making you a sandwich, you might be right. If this is your mentality when planning a wedding, I'll get you a proposal for that.
Yes, you can swim here, the water's cool. But if you shit in it, here's a free pass to the next pool."
Now, we found this post and were upset by it. Not only had we had disagreements with our wedding planner that caused her to quit at the last minute and leave us in a tenuous situation to pull off our wedding, but now she was also publicly mocking and shaming us through her professional business social media.
However, this did help us realize that Kendall and us weren't a good fit AT ALL, and made us relieved to be going our separate ways.
Now, despite Kendall dropping us at the last minute, we managed to find a wedding planner to do day of coordination. While they were more expensive, they went above and beyond to make sure everything ran perfectly, and overall, when everything was said and done we had an amazing wedding day.
Now we were one of Kendall's first clients, so I don't doubt that some or much of this has improved for her clients since, but for us, working with Kendall was very stressful, caused us financial problems, and ultimately left us scrambling to put everything together at the last minute. Based on the other reviews here, this is clearly not everyone's experience, but it was ours.
To Kendall if you're reading this: I'm sorry if we acted rude or insensitive to you. This was a very stressful time for us trying to pull this all together while figuring out where to come up with the money to pay for everything. As such, you probably didn't get the best side of us. I don't wish you any ill will with this review, I just wanted to share our experience, and I hope there aren't any hard feelings between us (or if you view us as your "Clients From Hell" that you've had better experiences since).
