My wife and I had our destination wedding at the Bellwether in March of 2024. It was the best weekend! We stayed for five nights at the hotel, and many of our guests stayed as well. No complaints about our stay! The beach was perfect, and the Bellwether team was very accommodating and kind. Courtney and Amalfi were great to work with when planning our wedding! Excellent communication. Very accommodating. I want to give a huge shout out to Amalfi, who was somewhat new at the time. She went above and beyond to help us navigate any issue, and she helped execute a flawless rehearsal, wedding reception, and ceremony. Thank you so much, Bellwether team! If you are considering getting married at Bellwether, read this story!! After staying in the beautifully renovated hotel several times before, my husband and I decided to get married here on 10/12/24. It also has special meaning for me, as I celebrated my First Communion in the Bird's Nest when it was still a Howard Johnson. From the moment we met Amalfi Lopez, Wedding Coordinator extraordinaire, we knew we had found the perfect place for our big day! Throughout the planning process, Amalfi was a constant source of support, always guiding me with patience and care.

Then, just two weeks before the wedding, Hurricane Helene hit Florida. As the storm passed, Amalfi kept me updated on the status of Bellwether, but when she finally gained access to the property, she broke the news that it couldn’t be repaired in time for our wedding. I was devastated, but Amalfi stayed on the phone with me, comforting me (she handled my ugly sobbing like a pro) and assuring me that we’d figure something out. At that point, I honestly thought we wouldn’t be able to get married after all the planning.

But two hours later, Amalfi called again with good news. The Bellwether team had decided to help us find a new venue and honor our original contract—even though the new venues were significantly more expensive. We toured the new options, and Amalfi was with us every step of the way. She helped me shift my mindset, hugged me when I felt overwhelmed, and supported me through every decision.

In the end, we decided to move the wedding to Hotel Flor in Downtown Tampa, which meant completely re-planning the event in just two weeks. Our guests’ reservations were transferred, we chose new menus without a tasting, and all the wedding decor we had picked out for Bellwether was ruined. But Amalfi and Jenny at Hotel Flor went above and beyond to secure alternatives and make it all work.

Then, just a week before the wedding, Hurricane Milton started threatening Florida. By the Wednesday before our wedding, it hit, causing widespread power outages in Downtown Tampa and surrounding areas. But somehow, Hotel Flor was one of the few places with power, so we made the decision to move forward with the wedding. Even though many of our guests were dealing with power outages and uncertainty, we went for it.

On Friday, Amalfi showed up for the rehearsal after days without power, determined to make our wedding happen. And on Saturday, she became my day-of coordinator, ensuring everything ran smoothly behind the scenes. I can honestly say that without Amalfi’s help, our wedding would not have been as beautiful or memorable as it was.

I’ll be forever grateful to Amalfi and the Bellwether team for making our wedding happen, despite two massive hurricanes. It’s a day we’ll never forget! We plan to come stay with you for our 1st Anniversary and would love to meet some of the people who made this possible. Amalfi, prepare for tears and hugs at our reunion!

Amafli was beyond amazing! Our wedding was going to be at the Bellwether but unfortunately the hurricane season destroyed our venue... but Amafli and her team went above and beyond to make our wedding day magical. Always professional, was able to find another location and was so beyond amazing. Utterly speechless. Book your event with them.

I can’t say enough about the Bellwether as a perfect wedding venue! We had my daughter’s wedding there in April 2024. The staff was very professional and took care of all the details! It was perfect! They are very knowledgeable and easy to work with as we were out of state. The venue was beautiful- wedding on the beach and reception in the upstairs ballroom! Decorations were on point…

Our overall experience was a dream. I would first like to say that the Bellwethers event Manager Amalfi Lopez was helpful and on top of things. We had our rehearsal dinner right on the beachfront resort restaurant called Bongos. After the rehearsal dinner we had a reserved section on the rooftop bar called level 11 to visit with the out of town guests. We reserved two of the penthouse suites for the groom to get ready in and the bride to get ready in which has plenty of room for our hair and makeup to be done and still enough room for the photographer, two videographers, and the Day of wedding coordinator. The ceremony was on the beach followed by the reception in the penthouse level ballroom. I HIGHLY recommend the bellwether resort and HIGHLY recommend getting at least a month of wedding coordinator, Mora and her husband from My Dream Planners were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING and took a lot of the stress off the wedding especially day of wedding. They kept everyone on time and moving forward as planned. Wonderful experience!!! Ken Heavenridge from Image Pro Photography was exceptionally talented. He came in ready to go with a list of names and a shot list. He exceeded our expectations and his kindness and professionalism went a long way. Peter was our videographer and was AMAZING. He swooped in with a vision and filmed the whole event. He was very friendly and personable. We loved his style and creativity. Our DJ/MC was DJ Leo Martin who was also very talented and kind. He set up the music on the beach for the ceremony and also had the full DJ set up stairs for the reception. He made all announcements and introductions on time. He was very professional. Our hair and makeup lady was beautiful Renee DiNella. We did two Bridal hair and makeup trials with her to make sure that we had the exact style completely down so that the day of ran smoothly. Because we had those two trials the day of felt like our best friend was arriving to do our hair and makeup. By then we had already gotten to know each other and it made the day of makeup fun! I HIGHLY recommend doing two trials!!! All our vendors worked very well together and made our wedding day memorable. We HIGHLY recommend the Bellwether and our vendors!!!!!

The Bellwether was an amazing venue to work with! We found that the price was very affordable, especially considering the complimentary penthouse stay and the priceless views of St. Pete Beach. Courtney Mannix was amazing to work with as well. She very quickly and clearly communicated with us throughout the whole process and was very gracious and accommodating with meeting all of our needs. We would absolutely recommend the Bellwether for anyone looking for a beautiful beach venue!

We had the most magical and perfect wedding here!!! We are based in New Jersey and we took a leap of faith in booking the Gulf Vista Ballroom for our dream beach destination wedding without seeing it in person. We did everything remote up until 2 months before our wedding. We fell in love with the photos of the venue online because of its unique ocean view reception! And honestly the photos actually don’t do it justice as we were blown away by how beautiful this hotel is when we first saw it in person!!

From being right on the beachfront to the amazing ocean views from our room and the reception, we couldn’t be happier with our experience!! We are so glad we chose Bellwether for our wedding!!!

From the moment we booked the venue and up until we checked out, the service was absolutely phenomenal and the staff were all professional, friendly and attentive! The staff at Bongos and level 11 made our visit extra special. I don’t think we met anyone who was not friendly and helpful!

Our wedding event manager Amalfi Lopez was top notch and helped us every step of the way with wedding planning and beyond. We would give her 10 star out 5!! She went above and beyond. We couldn’t have pulled off a the most magical destination wedding without her help!

Our families and friends who all flew in from different parts of the country had an absolute great time!! The food from the reception to all their restaurants were all so goood! Got plenty of compliments from our guests!! We even hosted our wedding guests for brunch at Bongos after the wedding and everything was delicious! We all had a great time.

Bellwether Beach Resort could not have been a more perfect venue! Both Courtney Mannix and Courtney Gathers made certain that I had what my husband and I wanted, and bent over backwards to make us happy- from start to finish! They were both kind and extremely responsive via email throughout the process and answered all of our questions. The food was absolutely phenomenal. My husband's family is Italian and are hard to please; however, they all raved about the food! We were treated like royalty the entire time we were there and were offered an upgraded room while we were there due to it being the off-season in December. My dream wedding was to be done on the beach, but unfortunately, it was a washout day. The venue coordinators came to my rescue and made a quick change of plans to move the ceremony to the upstairs ballroom (Grand Vista Ballroom). It ended up being gorgeous and intimate, so that all our guests could hear our vows. Our reception was in the downstairs ballroom (Ocean's Edge Ballroom). It was set up to be exactly what I had envisioned and I truly felt like I had a Cinderella wedding. If you are looking at having your wedding at St. Pete Beach, do not look any further...as this venue is absolutely perfect! I did include a photo that was taken outside before it rained, which is the outside area between two palm trees where the ceremony would be held if it did not rain.

We had the best time hosting our ceremony and reception at the Bellwether! Merzedes, the venue coordinator, helped us out through the whole planning process and was very kind, easy to work with, and responsive. The Bellwether was able to accommodate our menu and set up requests and were very flexible when we made changes. The staff were all very helpful and the guests raved about the food all night! The Bellwether was the right choice for our wedding and we definitely recommend to anyone looking for a beach wedding!

My husband and I got married at the Bellwether Beach resort surrounded by almost 150 of our closest friends, and it was the most beautiful, magical, yet relaxing beach-wedding experience we could have asked for. We started off the weekend with our rehearsal dinner in the Gulf Vista ballroom (the best view ever), and then had our wedding ceremony on the beach followed directly with the reception on the Ocean's Edge ballroom. Courtney and Merzedes both made our day and weekend so special with all their fantastic planning in advance. I truly felt like we could be on vacation with our guests during the weekend because they had our back with all the details regarding the venue, food, etc. Even though we live in Atlanta, it was extremely manageable to get married at this 7 hour away destination due to their great communication. We are so grateful to have got married here and would recommend it to anyone- we will definitely be coming back to visit for an anniversary! :)
