Hiring Lauren was our best decision
How to sum up the past 6 months with Lauren from The Get Together events co? It feels like we’re writing our vows again! More details below — TLDR: she and her team are amazing and worth every penny, go hire her!
Our incredible florist (Kraft and Co - who you should also hire!!) highly recommended the Get Together Events when we were looking for a month of coordinator. After chatting with Lauren, who would coordinate/confirm things the month of, and the event manager Justine, who would be with us to execute it day-of, we felt so comfortable in their relaxed demeanor, which was perfectly complemented by their experienced and knowledgeable perspective.
Little did we know how important that calmness and perspective would be! In the early spring of 2020, Lauren reached out to see what we were thinking about our fall 2020 wedding. At the time, it was too early to postpone things, but Lauren acted as a sounding board and shared her industry perspective. When it came time to pull the trigger and postpone our wedding, we hired Lauren’s new Covid Coordinator Vendor Postponement services. Within a week, Lauren had reached out to all of our vendors to get their availability and postponement policies, and formed a list of every possible Saturday date in 2021 when all our vendors were available. Lauren patiently listened to our concerns and offered advice as we evaluated the new date options, and when none were quite right, she went back to all our vendors for their Friday 2021 availability (thank you Lauren! :)). Once we chose a 2021 date, Lauren coordinated getting all of the vendor contracts updated with the new date, and gently reminded us about the few things we needed to coordinate ourselves until she was sure we had done them.
Next: Micro Wedding Coordination. Having postponed our bigger celebration, we still planned to do a small ceremony on our original 2020 date, and we hired Lauren to coordinate it. With Covid guidelines and restrictions constantly changing in NY, Lauren advised us: keep it simple. She helped us with the pros and cons of the 2 different family backyards and once we chose a backyard, reached out to caterers and rental companies in the NJ area to inquire about their availability. (Out of Lauren’s control), a month before the wedding was scheduled to take place, we decided that hosting in our parents backyard was not going to work, and we quickly searched to find a new location. We ended up choosing a small outdoor venue in Brooklyn, except their availability was very limited, and we had to go with a date that was just TWO WEEKS away. Queue Lauren’s magic. Lauren coordinated with the florist and photographer to make sure they were still available on the new date, coordinated all the details with the venue - Lauren’s past experience and relationship with the venue were a huge help, and made sure we ourselves were ready (did we have a marriage license, outfits, hotel rooms...the list goes on).
The venue’s recommended tent company was sold out of tents, which we needed as a backup for rain, so Lauren took on the challenge and contacted pretty much every tent company in the tri-state area. (See screenshot above - thank you again Lauren).
Fast forward to the day of - we also hired Lauren’s awesome event manager Julie to be with us. Julie was calm and attentive, made sure everything (and everyone) was in the right place at the right time. We dealt with some high winds and low temps, and Julie took it all with a stride, making sure we were always warm enough and working with the venue to make sure the spot could still be perfect!Sent on 09/21/2020

TN's Best Wedding Planning (from the perspective of a 2020 Bride)!
The Get Together Events Co. was the best decision we made for our wedding day! I was fortunate enough to be able to work with Lauren herself the month prior to our big day- nailing down details, meeting with vendors, checking things off my list, coordinating the day-of schedule, etc. Every interaction, communication methods, working docs she created for organization and planning, etc. helped put my mind at ease, since we were a COVID postponed and re-scheduled 2020 wedding. The actual day-of was amazing. Having Lauren onsite to help with the final details, as well as major ceremony setup that we were unable to get to beforehand, was really above and beyond what we could have anticipated and allowed for me (the bride) to be able to sit back and enjoy my wedding day. Also, our wedding was rescheduled for a holiday (July 4th) since it was the only Saturday our venue had left for the year, so we were super lucky to be able to have Lauren there for us! They're the best!
Working with Lauren and Justine was the BEST decision we made for our wedding! They were super organized, detail-oriented, and so knowledgeable without making the nitty-gritty stressful. On the day of our wedding Justine arrived full of energy and a sense of humor and stayed that awesome until past midnight! But she was also so on top of everything, so able to read the room, and so ready to have our back anytime we needed her. Also, I want to mention that she set up our venue just as we had envisioned it, or even better. This is a no-brainer--they are the best!

Hey y'all! I'm Lauren. As a TGT client, you'll personally work with me as I iron out all the details of your day and create organizational documents that dreams are made of, before giving the binder over to your Event Manager. As the leader of the merry band of managers, I've selected and trained this team (hard) to be an extension of myself, providing the organization, relief, and FUN that this company was built on.
While my journey to wedding coordination was not planned (ha! how ironic), after years in large-scale, non-profit events, I can't imagine my life anywhere else. The ability to have a personal impact on two humans’ lives, is the greatest honor of MY life. I look forward to working with y'all!

The TGT Jane-of-all-trades, Justine has been with The Get Together Events Co. since just after it’s inception, working on weddings in Montauk, Manhattan, Brooklyn, and deeper Brooklyn. Justine specializes in joy-filled, DIY infused, dance-heavy weddings where having fun and getting hitched are the two goals of the day. By the end of the wedding, she will be your mom and your flower girl’s best friend.
A native New Yorker and fellow midwesterner by choice (Go Hoosiers!) with a background in production and theater, Justine has a love of oversized sweaters, Miley Cyrus and her little dog Toby.

Beyond TGT, Lauren has over ten years of event experience, most recently at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, where she's planned events with brides to Storm Troopers to VP Joe Biden and almost everything in-between! Lauren specializes in precision, venue/project management, levity, and lives for elegant affairs with badass couples.
A native Jersey Girl, Lauren holds an MFA in Theater Performance/ Pedagogy from the University of Florida (Go Gators!) and has been a New Yorker for 12 years. Lauren has a deep love for Jeff Goldblum, the Muppets, her husband, her little boy and their little pup Yoshi.
