About The Farm at Stillwater Spring

The Farm at Stillwater Spring is a historic venue for couples looking to get married in the beautiful mountains of western Maryland. Darren and Amy Long, the couple who own the farm, relocated to Antietam from Washington DC in order to find a connection to the land and discover new adventures. Darren and Amy belive that the most important things in life are friends, family, and food (all recommended for a wedding), which is why they are excited to help you in hosting one of your most special days.

Facilities and Capacity

This versatile space can accommodate couples looking for an indoor, outdoor, or covered outdoor wedding for up to 100 guests. Couples can take advantage of the 33 acre property when they host their wedding at this venue. If couples want to utilize the outdoor setting, they can choose to get married under the outdoor pavilion or in the wedding grove. They can also host their reception in the event barn on the property under an outdoor tent. The venue offers plenty of open spaces to guarantee gorgeous photos on your wedding day.

Services Offered

The hosts of The Farm at Stillwater Spring will take some of the hassle out of your day by providing tables, chairs, setup, and cleanup. Their property offers plenty of onsite parking for guests as well. The owners believe that your wedding should be enjoyable and affordable, and they will strive to help you achieve both of these goals.

History

Abraham Lincoln came face to face with General George B. McClellan and his army on this farm in October of 1862. This encounter occurred only a few days after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation. The Farm at Stillwater Spring has been cultivated and grazed since the early 1800s. The owners of the farm are proud to continue caring for this historic land by using regenerative organic agricultural practices and practicing high standards when it comes to caring for their livestock.

Location

The Farm at Stillwater Spring is nestled in western Maryland's hill and valley country near the Potomac River. It resides just a south of the Burnside Bridge at Antietam National Battlefield. The farm is within 15 minutes of three national parks, many more historical sites, and great kayaking on the Potomac River; offering your guests plenty of options for days trips and sightseeing while in the area.
