Prep Process: Talia came to my home a few months before my wedding for my hair and makeup trial. I do not wear makeup ever and typically wash-and-go my hair, but as soon as I met them, I was immediately at ease. They are the warmest, gentlelest, most patient human and artist who highlighted and enhanced my best features with such ease and expertise. They took photos and videos of every variation we did to help guide us on the actual day.

We had 12 people who needed hair and makeup done on my wedding day, and Talia structured the prep docs such that we communicated everyone’s needs and preferences in advance. They also provided a schedule to make sure everyone was on the same page about when, where, and with whom they needed to be. It made for a seamless morning, where everyone self-regulated, and I wasn’t managing who was on deck for hair & makeup.

Calm, Cool, Collected, Caring: On my actual wedding day, in my stress and desire to be ready as quickly as possible to adhere to our schedule, I struggled to articulate exactly how I wanted my hair. Talia made two updos that were beautiful but different than what I wanted; when I was ready to throw in the towel and just live with it because I didn’t want to be demanded and I was worried about time, Talia kept a cool head. We pulled up our videos from the trial and talked through the differences then and now. They encouraged me to express exactly what I hoped for; they patiently listened to me try to articulate what I wanted differently (even though I didn’t really have the words); and they figured out how to make the changes. The final result was completely perfect and exactly what I wanted.

We worked with Simple and Sultry for our wedding in July 2023. Talia came to my house for trials and was so thoughtful, patient, and fun while helping me find a style I was comfortable with. When it ended up being way too hot out to have my hair down on our wedding day, Talia quickly came up with a beautiful updo for our outdoor ceremony that I could easily take down for the indoor reception. I’m so glad I found her for my elopement. I didn’t do a trial and I’m no hair or make up expert, so I compiled example photos of looks that I liked and disliked, which Talia reviewed beforehand. When she arrived, she already knew what I was looking for and got right to it. I didn’t know what kind of lip color I wanted but one try and she mixed a color that I adored. I felt classically dolled up, and more importantly, I felt like myself when I looked in the mirror. I’ve already recommended Talia to friends getting married and will continue to do so.
