Kimberley was hands down, the most fantastic wedding planner we could have ever imagined trusting with our special day. We met with 3 wedding planners when deciding who to work with, and Kimberley stood out as being the absolute best from day 1. One of the other 2 planners didn't seem to have as much experience or design sense as Kimberley, or as many connections. When meeting with them, I felt like they'd do a decent job, but that my wedding would end up looking very cookie cutter and I worried I wouldn't be referred to other vendors (DJ, etc.) who were unique and best in class. The 3rd planner was straight up annoying and I couldn't imagine working with her long term! Kimberley was the best of ALL worlds--her background as an interior decorater and an innate sense of taste merged with her ability to truly understand who we were as a couple and our design preferences. Thanks to her, we ended up with design elements in our wedding that we'd never have even thought were possible, if not for Kimberley! Kimberley also recommended a fantastic (and affordable!) florist, caterer, and DJ, among other great vendors. She was also a dream to interact with and made everything lighthearted and fun. When I say my wedding day went off without a hitch, I MEAN it! Literally everything was perfect, and it was not because the "stars aligned"--it was because of the thorough planning and flawless execution by Kimberley and her team. We went through numerous challenges with our wedding--first of all, we had to postpone 1 year due to COVID. Second of all, our wedding was in Fredericksburg, so it was a challenge to find vendors (especially catering!) who would travel from Austin. Third of all, we had issues communicating with the venue after the yearlong hiatus in between our first and second wedding dates. I have no idea how we could have navigated those situations without Kimberley--she and her husband literally helped us get some of our rentals to and from Fredericksburg because we couldn't find a company that had the availability to do it! She also used her industry connections to get a vendor who was delivering games (like cornhole, etc.) to our wedding to deliver and pick up some of the rentals as well. She is a problem-solver extraordinaire. The day of the wedding she set everything up gorgeously. We had SO MANY candles and decorative items on our tables and all of that required an artistic eye to set up--it wasn't like each table looked the same or had the same stuff on it. Kimberley made each table a work of art. Our guests raved about the look of the wedding and most of them commented that they'd never been to a more beautiful or better run wedding. Seriously, the way Kimberley facilitated our wedding day was so smooth that even the guests noticed it! Still to this day (it's been 5 months since our wedding day) people comment on the beauty and ease of our wedding. My friends were amazed that there was absolutely "no drama" and our wedding party was impressed the day of at how Kimberley remained firm and in control while also being super fun and personable. Kimberley is completely unflappable and brings a reassuring sense of calm and positivity no matter how much she has going on--she is a true professional. I honestly don't know why you'd want to look anywhere else for a wedding planner--Kimberley is THE girl if you want someone to plan the gorgeous and unique wedding of your dreams while also being fun while also carrying out all of your plans flawlessly! I want to get married again just so I can have Kimberley plan another wedding for me LOL. She also does the most gorgeous elopement packages and I am lowkey jealous because I had the big wedding and now I want one of those too...so big wedding or small, go with Kimberley, you will NOT regret it!!!!!!!!

Kimberley at Silver Thistle Events was amazing to work with. From our initial conversations, it was clear that she was going to work with us to make our vision for our wedding come true. Kimberley had a number of great relationships with vendors that we were able to tap into through her and she worked just as well with the vendors that we hired that she had not previously worked with.

She tirelessly worked with us and our vendors when we had to move our initial wedding date and make adjustments as we changed our guest count.

By the time the day of our wedding finally arrived, we know we could trust Kimberley to handle any and all of the challenges of the day. We can’t believe how much we were able to just enjoy our wedding without sweating the small stuff.

We booked Silver Thistle three months before our wedding. COVID had just chucked our plans for Big Sur out the window and we had just finalized our new venue closer to home which had used a big chunk of our budget. I was ready to settle on whatever generic vendors that would allow me to finalize everything on time. Our photographer suggested we chat with Kim before giving up on our vision for our big day.

Kim was offering a package for small weddings that included her design and planning expertise, reception rentals, florals, and catering which sounded like a god send on our tight timeline. Though her pricing was very fair and competitive for the market, we hesitated to hand over what was basically the rest of the money we had allotted for the wedding. After pouring over her portfolio and asking her five million questions, we agreed on the package.

BEST DECISION EVER. Kim took my hodge podge wedding pinterest board (I had pictures from Lord of the Rings and some opium dens in there) and turned it into our dream wedding. She knew within one meeting the exact vendors that matched our tastes and personalities. She truly listens and engages when she speaks with you. She doesn’t try to force any of the conventional ideas of a wedding and is only interested in what fits who you are as a couple. If we aren’t sure of an idea, she has three more to replace it. I cried the day she sent over her vision board- it was such a relief to have chosen the right person to hand our big day over to. Planning our wedding suddenly became fun again instead of a giant weight. We were blown away by the tasting at the catering team she had chosen. I think my mouth literally fell open when we met the florist and saw what she had collaborated with them on for our table centerpieces. When we asked her to recommend a good band- we booked the one she suggested without even hearing them first. That is the level of trust she created.

Seeing everything come together on our wedding day gave me such peace. There weren’t any details to worry about- she was on it. Instead, I got to concentrate on celebrating the lifelong commitment I was making with my best friend. Not everything went off without a hitch (to be expected when you enlist your family members instead of professionals to be the officiant, makeup artist, hair stylist, and emcee), but Kim quickly dealt with any hiccups efficiently and behind the scenes. Our reception was hands down the most beautifully decorated venue I have ever seen. This woman is gifted! All of our guests told us all night that it was so “us”. Every detail felt right and purposeful. Everyone raved about the food and one table actually asked for seconds-at a wedding! The florals were dark and moody and dripping from everything. The band had every single person on the dance floor. Once our night reached an end, we received a hundred photos Kim had secretly taken on her phone throughout the day-knowing our photographer wouldn’t be able to get us any for a while and we would want them. She is so in tune with what is important to couples.

I can promise that you will not regret placing your trust in Silver Thistle. Our planning experience turned from a burden into a source of joy and excitement the moment Kim stepped in. You don’t have to do it all alone, and you don’t have to sacrifice your vision. Kim is like a combination of cool aunt and fairy god mother and she is there to make it all better.

Kimberley, and Silver Thistle Designs, gave me and my now husband the most beautiful, true-to-our-style elopement I could have ever imagined. When I first started talking with Kimberley, she asked me to send her a pinterest board of inspiration for my day, and she took it from there. When I tell you that she surpassed all of my expectations, I mean she surpassed ALL of my expectations- the bouquet, the cake, the set up- all of it was a combination of all of my favorite elements from my board, but somehow better. Not only that, but Kimberley was such an incredible comfort to have from the start- she touched base with us consistently from the second we reached out to her until the moment she handed us coffee on our return from our sunrise hike on the day of our elopement. Kimberley has such a calming presence, and was a constant source of reassurance that things were handled which took so much stress off of us so that we really could just sit back and enjoy our day.

Pictures tell a thousand words, especially when it comes to design, but I’ll try my best to paint a picture of the day that Kimberley created for us. After our sunrise elopement, which Kimberley supplied the most STUNNING bouquet for, she met us at a beautiful secluded beach nestled between the mountains, where she had set up a picnic laid with geometric blankets and wicker baskets. We ate pastries and fruit and sipped our coffees, and it allowed us to have such a beautiful moment to soak in our day, and we are eternally grateful for those memories.

Later that day, we headed out to the COOLEST luxury campsite that Kimberley helped us find, had dinner, and then walked back down to our tent where Kimberley had set up the most incredible cake stand and floral arrangement. We danced to Coldplay, we ate cake off of each other’s faces, and we read letters from our friends and family. We laughed, we cried, we tripped over my dress. At the end of it all, with Kimberley’s help, our day became so much more than what we had thought of as a typical elopement. Instead, it became a day filled with all of our favorite traditions, framed by beautiful details, that we will cherish for the rest of our lives.

If it was possible to give 1 millions stars to Kimberley and her team, even that wouldn’t be enough!! I can’t begin to describe how magical my wedding season and wedding day was. Kimberley is talented, dedicated, passionate, and absolutely wonderful in every way. She took my husband and I’s vision and brought it to life more beautifully than we could have ever imagined. Kimberly and Diane were outstanding! I have worked with many wedding planners as an officiant. They ran the wedding I officiated at the weekend America went crazy over the coronavirus. They are professional, level-headed, sincere, and make everyone happy. I would wholeheartedly recommend them to do your wedding!

To say Kimberley is truly incredible when it comes to planning and design does not fully encompass her gift. She has a way of making everything beautiful and more fantastic than you imagined and keeping the vibe low key at the same time. We had an engagement party, bridesmaids brunch, rehearsal dinner, chapel, and reception venue with entertainment and dinner for 200 all in the hands of Silver Thistle. As my husband said, hiring Silver Thistle was the single best investment we made with regard to our daughters wedding. Our mid December wedding came during the typical holiday stress. Kimberley's handling of events took my stress away. She was always available and her assistants were wonderful. Her vendor recs were spot on. Every event we hosted felt flawless in her capable hands. She thought of and covered every detail. She heard what was important to us and kept it a priority. I give her credit for making my daughters wedding day a breathtaking moment in time. I can't recommend her more highly. I will hire her again in a heartbeat. She is a precious gem.

We hired Kimberley about a year in advance of our wedding and we did the full service package. Kimberley was amazing to work with! I am an event planner myself, but have never planned a wedding. I knew I could handle all the logistical things myself, but definitely needed someone with a designer eye to make it look beautiful and that is EXACTLY what Kimberley did!
