About Rabbi Cantor Marie Betcher
Rabbi Cantor Betcher is honored to Officiate weddings, both Jewish, Secular and Interfaith (including with Clergy of other Faith Traditions). She is also blessed to Officiate LGBTQ weddings.
She has served congregations across the country, gaining a wide and varied experience throughout her pulpit career.
She serves the Austin Police Department as Chaplain and is also a Chaplain for Cedar Park Police and Fire Departments. She is proud to be part of the LGPOA (Lesbian Gay Peace Officers Association) of APD (Austin Police Department). The only LGBTQ Peace Officers Association in Texas.
Rabbi Betcher has served both Conservative and Reform Jewish congregations around the country. Congregations from 80 families to 1500 families, she has been blessed to officiate weddings and provide premarital counseling since 1988.
Rabbi-Cantor Marie Betcher received Bachelor and Master of Music Degrees in Vocal Performance. After years of a successful music career, she made the decision to answer the call to serve the Jewish people and was Ordained a Cantor in 1999 from Hebrew Union College and later ordained a Rabbi in 2010.
Rabbi-Cantor Betcher sang in concert in Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, toured Sicily and England. New York University Recital Hall, The Ambler Music Festival in Philadelphia, Piccolo Spoletto in Charleston, SC, among many other venues. She has toured England and Sicily
in concert performances.
