Santa Barbara is also where she developed her craft as a professional photographer and, in 2006, created her successful business, Michelle Lauren Photography. Her work and talents include Weddings, Engagements, Special Events, Portraits, and Fine Art. Michelle is especially passionate about photographing Weddings. Amazing every step of the way
Michelle is an incredible wedding photographer! She went above and beyond every step of the way, making us feel comfortable during our engagement session, checking in several times before the wedding, scouting out first look locations, ensuring our day-of logistics worked out perfectly, and of course capturing all the moments that made our wedding day special. Our family members and guests even commented on how great she was! Her photos captured the day beautifully. Michelle’s expertise and personality truly set her apart. Amazingly Talented Photographer!!!
Michelle did a wonderful three generation photo shoot that resulted in pictures that will be treasured forever! She has such a gift with children and made my daughter come to life for the camera. We did a mommy and me shoot when my daughter was one also and it was so fun to see her personality at 4 and 1 and how much she has grown! Michelle makes everyone in the family feel comfortable and at ease. She obviously loves what she does it shows. Michelle is kind, patient, positive, and incredibly talented. I've enlarged and framed her photos and given them as keepsake gifts to family members. You will absolutely love her work and working with her. She's an extraordinary photographer and you will be so happy you chose to work with her!

Forever grateful
Michelle was beyond amazing during our special day. We had met Michelle is Santa Bárbara when my husband hired her to secretly take photos when he proposed to me. She was kind and professional during our engagement photos that we decided to reach out to her for our wedding day. She said yes! During our special day Michelle was very thorough and professional. She even asked us if we needed anything, such a drinks. She was an enormous help to when it came down to making a plan for our wedding . It wasn’t her role but she really played a big part in how the day went. We couldn’t have asked for a better photographer! We will definitely be reaching out to her for any future photo sessions and make a trip back down to Santa Barbara!

Comfortable and Intimate
Michelle is not only an incredibly skilled photographer - what makes her great for romantic photoshoots is that she makes the couple feel very comfortable with her presence - despite capturing moments that are very intimate. It's a very fine and delicate balance to be able to let the couple shine without breaking the intimacy - and she does a wonderful job of placing herself in such a way that lets intimacy shine through while still being very friendly and comforting.
I couldn't've been happier with the way my engagement photos turned out! It was supposed to be a surprise, so Michelle made every effort to go under the radar to capture the moment on my knee - and then spent about an hour walking us around a beautiful property to capture intimate photos. She thought of everything ahead of time: make sure she doesn't wear sunglasses, make sure she's the one facing into the light, etc. to make the picture perfect moment.
Truly a kind human being with a passion for capturing people's intimate moments, Michelle is someone you want there to capture your special moment.

Michelle Lauren Photography is Spectacular!
Michelle and her crew photographed our engagement photoshoot as well as our two day wedding event. I am very light skinned and my husband is very dark and getting a photo of us together can be challenging. Every single photo we received from Michelle was amazing! She was organized and noticed the little things (applying chapstick when my lips were dry, removing a hair tie from my bridesmaids wrist, etc.). We couldn't have been more happy with our choice and highly recommend her services. We were so impressed we continue to use her for our business and will continue to seek her out for future photos.

Best Photographer
Michelle Lauren Photography is the best! I've worked with Michelle on weddings, as a wedding planner, in the past and have always enjoyed the experience! Recently, we trusted her with our family photos and she captured the whole family perfectly. My 6 year old is very talkative and wanted to direct a good portion of the photo shoot. Michelle handled it all with style and grace and was never annoyed or put off. In fact, she welcomed his suggestions and kept him engaged and involved in the process. We were married in September 2019. Michelle Lauren was highly recommended by friends to us. The following was our experience working with Michelle.
Michelle consistently and promptly responded to any needs, questions or concerns we had and did so with absolute professionalism. Having worked well over 20 years in fields that require the absolute highest levels of integrity, trust and expertise, I can say with complete confidence that Michelle will provide exceptional service to you. At a time when so many vendors and businesses seem to have forgotten what the true definition of quality customer service is, Michelle is not one of them.
On the big day she was prepared and went about capturing images methodically which allowed her to utilize her time efficiently so we got the best photos possible in numerous locations.
Michelle knows what does and doesn’t work in her craft and she was completely open to suggestions and ideas but still direct enough to keep things moving so we could enjoy our day and evening with our guests.
I asked for a group photo of everyone in attendance. I think this was a bit of a curve ball for her but she made it happen and it came out great. Highly recommend this but give her a heads-up first haha.
In closing I want to say that so much of the day will fade over time but quality images by a skilled photographer will rekindle the magic and always let you remember how great it was.
My sincere and heartfelt thanks to Michelle for hard work and some really great photos of our special day.

Michelle Lauren was excellent
Michelle was recommended to us by the hotel staff, and I’m very pleased that we were able to book her last minute. She was amazingly good at putting everyone at ease and getting them to have genuine smiles. What was most incredible was that she managed to get many amazing shots of our toddler son, who is at a tough age following direction for a perfect shot. She was patient and made it playful for him and he was engaged. The images are beautiful. We can’t wait for the next shoot with her when we visit Santa Barbara again.

Such a gem!
My family and I LOVED working with Michelle, for our 3 generational photo session. She made it so easy and fun. The results were incredible!
